It'll be there eventually. I've decided to stop buying tokens since it doesn't make sense to pay so much for only a chance to beat them. Arena doesn't seem to give them out nearly as fast as Grindfest either, and that's all I play now. Besides, trophies will never have functionality until you stop caring about them, so there's no rush.

Ahem, this means I shouldn't try under a decent level of 90?

you need silence at the very least which you can get at 70, before that I wouldn't even try.

I dont think absorb and spark of life are necessary for the lesser legendary bosses. Only once you come to arena challenges where you get them in successive rounds would SoL be useful. I got lucky and got Dalek my first and only time through Endgame which made it very easy (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

The reason you try to have Spark of Life on is for when your Silence misses... repeatedly. Even with my high and HP, END and good equipment, let Mithra loose for one attack and she can crit for 9000. You have it there in case you slip up really. And nothing will make you bite your lower lip more than going through a 50 round arena and getting shafted by a lucky hit.

Absorb is good too if your burden is high enough that monsters with high action speed like Dalek decide they want to use their Spirit twice in one turn...
Of course it doesn't always work since I've still been crit twice for 9000 damage on both attacks, on more than one occasion.
I don't play Crusade anymore for pretty much the same reason. I don't like being blasted by 3 boss spirits when my Silence suddenly decides to stop working for 3 or 4 turns in a row.

So you haven't beaten Endgame? (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/sad.gif) Can't you respec your abilities and get silence? What's wrong with the silence tactic proposed by many on this thread? This post has been edited by gillian: Sep 9 2009, 07:07

0 3 Spawned Monster B: MID=19 (Dalek) LV=60 HP=9735 MP=86 SP=72 NA=82 Type=hostile
So I run into Dalek in my round 2 normal grind, my first legendary ever. It started tough but not impossible:
4 4 Death Ray hits you for 418 soul damage. 4 3 Dalek casts Death Ray
(My HP are 1190)
His h2h attacks were tough but again, not too bad:
6 2 Dalek hits you for 110 piercing damage. 9 6 Dalek hits you for 74 piercing damage.
Unfortunately, I was not prepared for
15 7 You have been defeated. 15 6 Brain Sucker hits you for 1149 fire damage. 15 5 Dalek uses Brain Sucker
Guess Silence IS essential after all. Which level is it at? (Thanks Cyriel). So realistically, one shouldn't bother with legendaries before getting it at lv70...

If you can not as you think I will win this surprise in the first round of Grindfest? (IMG:[ i35.tinypic.com] http://i35.tinypic.com/2a8g6yx.jpg) This post has been edited by Charkan: Sep 21 2009, 04:25

I had a similar experience trying to grindfest on Normal. I tried 6 times in a row, each time, the first round had a Dalek in it.

Well, I changed my heavy armor to light armor and tried to clear Endgame but couldn't do it. I tried twice and came so close but lost. (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/sad.gif) Look how close I came! This was the second attempt. On the first attempt right before that, I also got Dalek and only half killed him. (IMG:[ gannonman.com] http://gannonman.com/image/HV_Dalek_Endgame_539630061.jpg) And I wasted my credits and I used up Mana Elixirs and Health Elixirs and a Spirit Elixir and my Flower Vase and a few other exotic items. But at least I was able to use magic attacks and yeah, Silence definitely keeps the Legendary quiet. But they're so hard to beat. I don't know how people kill Legendaries so easily, I was struggling the whole time, even with my spirit attack.

i just silence and weaken them, kill everything else, I usually start trying to resilience/weaken when it is at 3 turns left incase of resists once all the other stuff is dead its pretty easy to just chip away at their health. And at this point I don't even bother bringing healing items just keep regen up and spot heal if you take a big blast, and use the space for mana items.

Agreed. Mana items and a shielding scroll or two. Also, poison does wonders. Penetrated armor and THEN using poison does even more wonders. Having huge overcharge bonus helps as well; I can get up to 170%. I usually don't even bother using spirit at all unless I'm about to die (hasn't happened in a long time). I tend to poison everything in the last round if I have the MP for it (somewhat for lols); lowers the number of times I'm blasted by skills and by the time I actually get around to hitting things the regular mobs are dead and the mini-bosses usually only have a hit or two left.

The round before, I like to kill all the monsters and leave a fire fox or cookie monster. Then I buff up, usually in a whimsical order like godly mana draught, spark, regen, then scroll of shield (or avatar if i'm doing arena on hard). Then I pop the last monster, goto next round, focus and silence. Then beat up the other guys....
...Then it's weaken and slow toying with legendary. I use nerf now over weaken since it lowers monster defense.
Also in your case, I think using a bubble gum would help more than flower vase.

I managed to kill a Mithra once, but I was also about level 5 at the time. All this strategy talk has me looking forward to when I'm of a high enough level for skills so I can stand a chance again.
