A quick bid doesn't let you receive an item before the auctions end, right?

I think it is something related to this bidding rule.

The quick bid mechanism cannot, however, make the bids on an item stop before Wednesday 9pm, or after Monday 7pm. This is needed to prevent players from "early sniping" the desired items straight from the start of the auctions and to prevent the auction to be dragged on for too long.

Does that mean I can bid above the quick bid before Wednesday 9pm if I were to compete?

It means that when you bid equal or higher than the quick bid, the bids on that item will end at earliest on Wednesday 9pm. You do can bid higher than the quick bid amount at any time, that's not an issue.

Quick bids are designed, as their name suggests, to obtain an item quicker, so before the regular end of auctions.

What holidays, and who studies to enter college? I think in the USA most people don't refer to summer break as a "holiday" and no one studies to get into college.

Also I wonder how many players of this game have not finished high school yet because it is very naughty for little boys and girls to look at hentai.

Summer holidays. In America, many High Schools and Colleges begin in late August, or very early September. This is in contrast to Canada, which to my knowledge rarely, if ever, begin schooling for High School or Universities before at least the first week of September has ended. In Europe it really depends on where you live, although they generally tend to get less time off IIRC. Some German states start early September... Some start the first week of August. And the calendar year goes until mid, or even late July. At least, according to my old friend in Hamburg.

It's merely a (sadistic) way to tease the majority of teenagers/high-schoolers and remind them that they're about to resume class. And remind parents that they have to buy a lot of expensive stuff. (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/heh.gif)

As for the study part, yes studying to enter higher studies is quite the norm a bit everywhere around the world, unless you're some amazing fellow. But regarding that part it was merely a reference to the events of Monogatari and an excellent excuse to get Hitagi to tell you to pay up, all the while fitting her personality very well. I know that I'm very serious and working quite a lot to come up with these eye candies (I average 2 hours a week, so a bit more than registering the equipments), but it's all to remind everyone to have fun, in a more or less refined and pleasant way.

I just meant that most people in the USA call that "summer break" or "summer vacation" and the term "holiday" tends to be reserved for the shorter breaks that are usually just one day. Then again maybe I have no idea what others do because I still think very few people here study to get into college. I see that in anime of course, but that's Japan.

I finished a decent or maybe elite university program long ago, though it didn't help me in the end. I went to a (sort of) ordinary high school and never studied. Just go to class and do (most of) my regular homework once. There was (supposedly) a lot of homework though. Studying beyond that is a waste of time.

My standardized test scores tend to range wildly from below average, to excellent, to perfect. I sometimes answer questions "wrong" on purpose, especially in subjects or tests that I feel are stupid. In my college applications I wrote that extracurricular activities were stupid and that I didn't really do any. I was still accepted everywhere I applied.

Still, that attitude (mostly) didn't work for me after university, so I guess maybe I just wasn't smart enough, or maybe not lucky or cute enough. It's a different approach to acquiring intelligence which I recently learned (to my surprise) had been echoed by some famous individuals and student bodies in certain elite schools in various countries.

It's not because I haven't set the [END] tag that it's still time to bid.
Unless written explicitely (mainly quick bids), the bids are over when the timer says it's over.

I set the [END] tag mainly to let the moderators that the auctions are over and that they can unpin/lock the thread because I don't need it open anymore.

Should I remove the "little extra" in the MoogleMails? I feel like these may be a bit annoying or deter some players, due to nothing being actually attached to the MoogleMal. I was thinking about ending the mails with something a bit more "generic".

I think it is way too cheap at this moment. Maybe I should bid and resell at Super's? Profit is for the current seller of course. On the other hand, as a mod I probably shouldn't interfere. Any opinions?

I think some of richer players who would be interested in an item if it were on Super's auction might overlook it if it's on evil's auction because they don't check the evil's auction.

My impression is that evil's auction displays many items and most of them are for lower-level players, which means they are somewhat mediocre quality, i.e. mag or low leg, and affordable, whereas super's auction features more selective items in general.

So some of potential buyers might not even bother looking at evil's auction because 1. good items are rare 2. good item that's a bargain rarer. But then again I guess decon can't just throw in a 10m start bid cuz it'd look so foreign and somewhat not matches the main purpose of the auction, so maybe starting price is lower, and if not enough ppl are looking at it then it might not protect the seller if the item is snatched at start/quick bid value.

I guess the tricky part for decon is weighing between doing justice to sellers and promoting accessibility to decent items to newbies? Personally I think sellers may have to compromise a bit and understand that the bid prices might be lower than if he was selling his items directly...

If an item is really good then make an exception and put a relatively higher price on it, or perhaps forward it to Super's auction?

I won't be making any comment, except two:
1) I can't be blamed for being sometimes off with the start/quick prices, when the seller is free to give me his desired prices and when the two other auctioneers don't even make that effort at all by defaulting to 50k for everything.
2) I don't display mediocre equipment. I only display equipment that isn't to the taste of players with mediocre ways of thinking.

Regarding being flooded with equipment: yes, I do am aware of it. It's been a while I was thinking about "showcasing" the best ones (been a few months), so all the snobs don't have to do the effort of reading through. It'll probably be up next week.

For now: cancelling the bids on Clo66, making the start price to 5M, no quick bid price, but I won't go any higher. If someone complains that it goes for only 5M, then I'll ask him why he did not bid himself.

Been a bit busy the past week, just wanted to say thanks for handling it well guys, all of you. Thanks for the good catch qr12345 and thanks for increasing the bid decondelite. I honestly didn't do much research I just handed them in over, I should do at least a little next time for the legendary items. Would have said this earlier in the week but sounds good, thank you.

using live percentile, I got 52% adb, but you listed 27%...
another example is this Legendary Amber Power Helmet of Slaughter
I got 49% adb, you listed 22%...
