How many turns are you expecting to save with that? Judging from my imperil counts for DWD, I would estimate a gain of maybe 100 turns at most... in raw imperil count, anyway. In pfest/IW100s, it might have some other slight knock-on effects from making the first turns of a round more consistent.

I think it's a good enough idea to make it interesting, though. It might be cheap-ish to pick up decent agile/savage arcanist pieces. I'll be interested in seeing how many pieces are needed to see much benefit, too - could be that it might be worth running one good arcanist piece alongside shadowdancer pieces.

You should rather be counting turns that you don't waste attacking monsters that aren't imperiled, or healing because some monsters survived and did deal a powerful blow.

Further than that, Imperil melee kinda became my signature gameplay, so mastering it to the fullest is one of my goals.

If I'm recasting imperil until it lands anyway, then there are no turns that are spent attacking unimperiled monsters - so the gain is entirely in how many fewer casts are needed for it to land. Yes, I agree that there are also survival gains (from avoiding the speed vulnerability of spell casting compared to attack speed for dual wield - I imagine this is less applicable for 1H heavy).

I think that survivability difference is likely to be relatively negligible in terms of turn count though, but the usual line about interruptions to hover-play costing real-time is very valid. I personally like to try to optimise for turn count, to see how theoretical changes could offer better results, even if they're worse t/s.

I almost never recast as melee. Only when one of the packs 1-3, 4-6, 7-9 remained entirely unaffected and I did notice it in time before I proceed to slaughter them. Which is very rare.
Imperil melee can be efficient only if one doesn't lose his time calculating things. That's why even though I do spam Imperil, I still call my playstyle "braindead".

I used to use absorption in low levels, probably becuase I didn't have access to SoL and spirit shield at that time I think.

I know it is quite obvious now that absorption doesn't help at all but I still want to use them. I am just wondering how much I have to pay to get anyone to send me the scrolls instead of selling them to the item shop.

Sure there is, the spirit stance. Just click on Spirit in battle and enjoy the increased damage and decreased mana usage. (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/happy.gif)

As 1H you dont really need INT that much, and AGI and WIS are also much less important then STR, DEX and END. The only use of Int for 1H is actually to get some spirit points, And other as a mage, 1H does actually benefit from having more spirit points because they are used while spirit stance is active. And because 1H at least at a later level with some IA does need much less mana than a mage. And Agi isnt really usefull because 1H doesnt have much use from the speed and evade bonus it gives, but of course you still want some Agi, because it also gives a bonus to PM.

Another way to look at it: once donated, you're stuck with it and can't turn the effects off.

The ability to temporarily turn off donations, cookies, and awards (or perhaps merely their displays) is something I'd like to see, and asked for in that thread before. I'm still adblocking everyone's orange cookies and I think I adblocked the most recent award as well since it was so big.
