How's your proficiency?

I haven't done any forging on my prof glove yet so idk yet, but i'll let you know once I get the perk and do the prof forges (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)
Also, it might be a good idea to do some work on prof at least on REs, b/c after some my elemental proficiency is at 381 without equipping any mage gear.

It's not something like minimum requirement but more is faster.
You can try ~50 MDB, ~30 EDB&prof.
I will suggest you at least get Pene5.
Change your gloves to elementalist (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

Thanks for the info (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) Will try that much forging to see how it goes. I guess I'ill just start with lower level arenas at pfudor and if it's too difficulty then try iwbth or something (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

I found a SS of my DwD clear with plain mage set.
If you have proper prof your DwD should be something like this.
Lv~400 maybe
LTRD ~90 MDB & ~45 others forged , P5S4
prof factor ~0.71
3 plain phase, 1 charged phase, plain prof cotton gloves
Cotton Prof forge ~30
All phase less than 5 forge
All armor with Jug 3~5

Why is it that whenever I use alt+2 or alt+3 for Regen or Heartseeker respectively, it'll automatically do my (most of the time) last used spell, Cure, whenever I hit alt without waiting for the number input?
Does it do that for the same reason whenever I alt+tab to a different window and alt tab back, I automatically use cure until I refresh to get it to stop?
Could it be a script problem? Is that a Monsterbation thing or something?

And I decided to mess around with it some more and found that it didn't always cure when I just press alt, sometimes it sits idle like it's properly waiting for an input. But then I gave it its alt+1 for cure and it didn't do anything. Even with this messed up cure at least it's faster than just using mouse at least. Still, I'd like to figure out what the heck is going on.

Also, might I recommend to forgo the whole alt+x stuff on buffs altogether.
Just go with a single keybind.
For example, on my 1H set up I have
Q - queue up imperil
W - regen
E - cure
R - heartseeker
S - spirit stance
D - full cure
F - vital strike
Z - imperil monster #2
X - imperil monster #5
C - imperil monster #8

And I have had 0 issues whatsoever.

I'll look into doing that, it certainly seems like a better option. It LOOKS like the reason for my misery is Chrome aggressively unfocusing the tab whenever I hit alt. Which doesn't change mousemelee, mousemelee still works great, but it messes with hotkeys like using draughts. Was really throwing me for a loop when I kept opening the Chrome help tab every time I tried to use a mana draught.

How's your Assimilator lvl?

Mine's only 1 rn. I might get on a couple more levels after I get my ability boost to lv100.

I have assimilator 6 and I manged to keep my mage profs at ~370-380 only doing REs with mage persona. It's not expensive but it takes 24h per level so you should plan ahead to get it.

alt +9-0 are default hotbar keys. I don't remember what default MB alt action is, but of course it's gonna do it too when you hover and press alt, and not gonna do it when you don't hover.

Just need some verification - wiki says "Additional levels of potency are more likely to level up existing ones rather than give new ones (50% chance when you have one, 75% when you have two). ".

This implies if you have two upgradeable potencies (not at level 5), you have a 37.5% chance of upgrading each right? It's not that the first one is 50% second is 25% correct?

hmm how should i distribute my stats as mage? Should I distribute them according to amount of exp needed to level up?



EDIT: Any ability I want other than the ones I already have? (except for the elemental ability one of which I should get) is MagNet a thing? According to the ability point calculator that came with newer version of HV Utils I should get it as elemental mage, but idk how frequently it's used.
