you could also become a millionaire if you earn $1 per hour, it just makes things harder

I want to build mage, but all these gears are lv500 (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/cry.gif) If I wanted to build a cheap-ass build for arena only, is redwood better than willow since arena monsters don't have much resistance to imperil? I've also read that charged isn't necessary for arenas, but they still make arenas clear faster right? Maybe I should get a cheap mage build for now and get good gears for pffest over long period of time...Can't even find soulfusable gears rn ugh

↓QUOTE(sssss2 @ Aug 21 2018, 09:42) For SG Arenas, the ideal setup is Redwood Staff and Radiant Phases, and 0.79 prof_factor For GF, Willow, Charged, and ~0.7 prof_factor

With charged pieces you'll cure less and that can help with clear speed.

Thank you~ I guess redwood for normal arenas as well? They're not taken into consideration since they're so insignificant perhaps lol

Willow is better for normal arenas since normal monsters are greater threat compared with SGs. If you are going wind/elec I recommend grabbing a willow instead of redwood. This post has been edited by qr12345: Mar 1 2019, 05:51

At the end of day, you will lose 10% of the forging materials after you salvage your redwood and pay for the IW again. Just pick a willow.

I see. Thank you! Well my plan is to get a really decent lswd later on, but was wondering if I could get something for immediate use and discard it later. I'm just curious how good a staff should be for it to handle up to pfdwd without too much problem. For instance, this one's listed on decon's auction rn: Magnificent Shocking Willow Staff of DestructionI can still forge the shit out of it since I'm going to salvage it anyways, but can this work? Because if it's not going to work there isn't much reason to waste credits. EDIT: Basically, I'm willing to buy a 20m~30m staff as an endgame gear right away if it can be soulfused, but kinda don't see the point in buying something 6m~8m if I have to switch it later(and I'll probably have to soulfuse and thus salvage it) and I actually can't even find something in that price range that's immediately soulfuse-able. So I was thinking I might as well just get crap gears if it can get me through arenas for now and later get a decent staff. The elemental of the staff I get later shouldn't really matter with what I get now, and I'm looking into shocking staffs since they happen to have basic no-charged phase mjolnir around my level on the auction right now. Can Stunned monsters resist? Wiki says they can't evade or parry. I assume they could still resist, but would like clarification.

Just checked. In Memorabilia Of Darksage Ff3 resists your spell. And this monster was stunned before i cast imperil, so the answer is yes, they can still resist.

Cool, thanks for the info.
Another question: we know that imperil's effects on elemental mitigation is additive (-40% at max level). Is this the case for the physical/magical mit reduction as well? (-50% or *50%)
(just did some tests, seems likely that phys/magic mit reduction is all multiplicative, and specific elemental mitigation is all additive)

I confirm that with Tonkenizer III, all trainings maxed out, doing all arenas daily, 1-2 PFFEST a weekend, I still feel like dropping tokens is still too slow. And that I can't imagine what it'd be if I didn't have all this. And Tokenizer III was totally not my top priority after IA 5 because I totally did not need tokens to totally not unlock all monster slots and upgrade them.
