just out of curiosity, how much crystals you get out of single run of pffest? Even for crys 1 to be worth it you have to garner up 500k crystals and I wonder how that is possible in reasonable amount of time unless pffest spits out loads of crystals

The formula is quite complicated for crystal drop for GF.

I see. That's about 60 pffest and 200 pffest to break even for crys I and V, respectively. But when you calculate the profit for pffest don't we usually also take into account lgbd and ed? If crystals's the main source of income in pffest I gotta say it's a very very long term investment indeed lol.
(With ED cost, it's essentially 1 crystal pack profit per pffest, which means 1300 pffest for crys v and you shouldn't even bother to do pffest until you get crys V)
Is there other source of income for pffest? I'm inclined to believe so

Less, you forget that those crystals you get for just playing normal arenas. It is not the world, but it is something.

Really. From what i still have written down of that time IWBTH Fest with Crys V gives your between 75k and 79k crystals. And well, not so much tried out as more got closer and closer to clearing PFUDORFest without SoL. From HellFest, over NintendoFest and IBTHFest i got to PFUDORFest.

Assuming each crystal is worth 2C (for convenience sake, as packs of 12x1000 go for as low as 20,4K)
Then you would get

Around 74k~80k crystals with Crystarium V

77k crystals average, or
154,000 C per PFFEST

Alternatively

Around 7,4k~8k crystals without Crystarium

7,7k Crystals average, or
15,400 C per PFFEST

Crystarium V costs 7,750 hath total.
Going by average price atm of 4068C per hath, that's....
31,527,000 C

The difference being
154,000 C - 15,400 C = 138,600C

That would mean you need to run
31,527,000 / 138,600 = ~228 PFFESTS
For it to pay itself off.

Mmmmm I thought for sure that even without the crystal drops that PFFEST is still profitable.

If PFFEST isn't even worth one ED (from credits, equip sell/salvage, tokens? trophies? No idea. Last time I did a grindfest I think it was infinite rounds not the 2k limit. Also there was no such thing as stamina (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) )
Then why would anyone bother doing it... Unless you literally have nothing else to do and have all the perks.


Speaking of PFFEST.
Is it doable with a decent 1h setup (good forged rapier, max mag/low leg slaughter armor with minimal forging)?
Or does it take like 12 hours or smth?

Yea I think I saw from a couple of pages before that you net around 350k profit so it shouldn't be too bad haha. Also, I wonder up to which point in trainings are reasonable in terms of breaking even. I think 80% roughly has 30% cost of max lv and that seems like a reasonable point to stop, at least until you've loads of credits to spend.

For Crys V PFfest initial crystal drop is 30 and it increase by 1 for every 25 rounds, the maximum will be 50 from round 500.
I don't know how the roundoff will work without perk.
Well, maybe the difference is negligible.
