1. Block is generally more useful than parry 2. You can get good amount of parry from dex (1 per 25 eff dex), but not as much for block which gives you a percent for every 40 1H prof.

QUOTE(sickentide @ Feb 20 2019, 23:27) i think someone also Did The Numbers and determined that, due to how they add up in a multiplicative fashion, getting higher block from a buckler has a greater effect on physical hits avoided than getting parry from both your shield and weapon
thats a new knowledge for me... so buckler of nimble is basically almost useless then??? (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/huh.gif) QUOTE(Saioux @ Feb 20 2019, 23:28) 1. yep... I already got 18.2% parry just by naked... when I equip my weapon, my block is only 9.9%... EDIT: lol I almost go to RE naked just because I checked it... (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) This post has been edited by Greshnik: Feb 20 2019, 18:41

What sickentide says is true, it's a pretty simple calculation just go look at the Legendary equipment block ranges and compare. Roughly though you can consider the extra block/parry from barrier/nimble to be almost the same. Except that block is way better than parry. QUOTE(Greshnik) so buckler of nimble is basically almost useless then??? Yup it's totally inferior, except for being cheaper than barrier, and still better than protection (and probably warding).

Well the order is evade block parry. So is it really a supprise that block is more effective at avoiding physical damage than parry? (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/unsure.gif)

No, no. When you play 1H, you dont want attacks been "wasted" to evade. You want those blocks, you want those parrys. Evade is only good when you play DW, Mage or at least some form of 2H.

It is sort of the same thing. QUOTE(fuadhika @ Feb 20 2019, 22:50) And does better blind affects the blind from iris strike?
No, better blind is for the spell only.

Oh I see, then what percentage does the blind from iris strike has? Cause the wiki only says that iris strike causes blind for 100 turns but doesn't provide the percentage.

Hm, i see. Well sorry, when the wiki doesnt tell this i have no idea. And my own time playing DW has been too long. But because you ask i would guess it is not 100%. So 75% maybe. (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/unsure.gif)

(IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/unsure.gif) No I didn't mean the success rate because it's always succeed, but the effect percentage, like better blind at max level decrease 30 points on both attack and magic accuracy of enemy, but as you said better blind only affect blind from blind spell, then what effect does blind by iris strike has? Sorry I was not clear enough. This post has been edited by fuadhika: Feb 21 2019, 00:17

Oh, i see. Well in that case i would say it just has the same effect as regular blind aka Base attack/magic hit chance reduction: 20%.

thanks so much for the answers i read these days!
today my wondering is: 1. in wiki for Challenge Level, it says for PFUDOR, Random equipment drops will be at minimum Superior quality. but seems i still can get Average for the first several Arenas. so this "Random" is from with Arena? is it also apply to IW, GR? 2. in wiki for Legendary equipment, it says 85-100% of maximum stats (varies on each stat). but in forum and bazaar, it is very normal to see Legendary equipment with a very low percentage. Are these all created before 0.82 version?

Those average equipment does come from the clear bonus from the arenas of the first page. So no, when you play PFUDOR you cant get average equipment from IW or GF. That is because those percentages are completly different. The those 85%-100% does include even Crude equipment. But when you read in forum those percentages only mean from the minimum to the maximum a Legendary equipment can have. So 85% from the wiki are equal to 0% you read in the forum. Does this makes it clear now?
