Level one here, I just wanted to ask what's the basic things that I should be looking into since I have found the wiki and this thread, but the fact I have zero experience with this type of MMO prevents me from knowing what I should be looking to learn, or prioritize doing.

Well, first i would say use only one sort of armor. Never mix heavy with light or cloth armor. Decide for the fight style you want to use. Dont invest chaos token into your monster but just use them to open up more monster slot. Without any more specific question that is all i can think of right now.

I think the level of this equipment is very high. Not worth waiting to be able to do soulfuse. And as you have been saying that you want to make the transition to mage soon, I think it would be best for you to look for Legendary Protection / Warding / Balance, with a high ADB and a slightly lower level (<450). Do the IW of these parts (or use a service), make soulfuse, and a basic upgrade (level 5), or at most 13 levels (because Robust Catalyst is not that expensive). That will be enough until you get your complete mage set.

Thank you for the input <3. Yea actually I found a couple pieces around level 400ish, but the bigger issue is soul fragments. I honestly think it's a huge waste of money to buy them from bazaar, and I have barely enough to fuse a rapier of slaughter I'm gonna buy, then I def need a shield, which is even more urgent than the rapier, so yea.

I think I'm just gonna take it slow and go through steps one by one. I raced from 170 to 340 in a matter of three weeks, which, in retrospect, might've been too fast for my own good. On the matter of leg protection vs mag slaughter, I'd take whatever decent one with low enough level appears first, but if both are available I still think mag slaughter is better - in terms of adb, peerless non-slaughter<mag 0% < exq 100%, so considering the extra mitigation will be useless after a while, I'd rather get mag slaughter, which is I think actually cheaper - I've been seeing 80+% mag slaughter around 100k.

Thanks, I've read those tips in the first page, a lot flew over my head, but I do have a baseline idea like go with melee for early-game, focus on equipment rather than power leveling, but don't prioritize ultra rare drops just yet, etc, I really don't have a specific question in mind since I don't know what I need to ask, I'm just hoping for general tips on farming, character management.

General tips on farming. Hm, well you should invest into the drop trainings to even get something to farm in the first place. Play on the hardest difficulty you are fine playing at to get more drops and more credits as drop. Do as many RE as you can, as you notice their pay off is quite good. Fair enough, but in my defense I've never heard of the MASO genre until today at least in terms gaming, I've heard of it being used as an abbreviation for masochist but that's about my experience with MASO, and so I settled with MMO as it was the first thing to jump into my head when trying to describe HV, but in hindsight, I should've just replaced MMO with game.

Welcome to this forum. Actually, the forum and the trading (WTS and WTB section) make this a kinda multi-player game. Credits is the main currency. You buy and sell nearly everything with it.
Hath is mostly good for getting Hath perks but some shops take them as currency or you could sell them for credits at the Hath Exchange.
GP has actually only one use in the game and that is buying tickets from the lottery.

Actually, it can also be used in gallery system to pay for archives download (and it's cheaper then using credits, at least at current exchange rate).

Well actually i did completly forgot about the paying for archives downloads. (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) With all my stars i have so many free downloads that i havent paid for a download in ages. (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/blush.gif)

On top of that, as least for me gallery viewing drastically reduced after playing HV....lmao

By the way, how doe DD stack? Is it 10, 10+15, 10+15+20 or 10,15,20. If latter is the case, which I think it is, isn't it shit-tier after the first unlock...

How much did you spend on the 1H set? Power of Slaughter set? Maybe I should use my 7m to upgrade my 1H set and get it going for a while and consider the switch later on lol, while gaining proficiencies for elemental and stuff

This list shows how much I paid for some of my equipment (the most important). All of those equipments have been or are soulbounded. The amount of upgrades in each you can check for the links in my signature.

Thanks Basara! I think I'll put together my set with about 1m~2m in total actually lol. Mainly I can't find a better rapier, I guess I'll just purchase the ADB 60% Parry 66% rapier. I'll probably go with mag slaughter tho.
