QUOTE(hentailover6983 @ Jan 13 2019, 05:25) I'm really happy because I just got my first Peerless-tier equipment from a random monster drop. However, my excitement died down when I took a look at the stats. I noticed that the Peerless has lower interference and burden stats while also being higher in the boost to primary attributes.
wait a minute... did I misinterpret your word, as it seems you're dissapointed with it having lower interference, burden and having higher PAB. QUOTE I'm afraid to soulfuse it because I'm not sure if selling it would be better. How do I know when to soulfuse (and eventually upgrade) and when to sell or trade an equipment? (This could also be applied to Magnificent and Legendary tier equipment, so I'd be really grateful for an answer.) For context: The Legendary Cobalt Force Shield of Deflection (The one on my current load out.) https://hentaiverse.org/equip/151535615/d69bf0e9cfThe Peerless Onyx Force Shield of Warding (The item from the mob drop.) https://hentaiverse.org/equip/182008194/a2d40fc6eaIf you're confident that you would get another peerless force shield with SDE/SDA soon, or you are not planning to play 1h anymore in near future (switching to mage or quit the game entirely as you got enough GP for fapping materials for the rest of your life), then by all means, sell it. But if you think that getting peerless is hard, moreover useful one, and you're thinking of keep playing 1h (or at least keeping the set for whatever reason), then it's a soulfused worthy, moreover it's clear upgrade from your current equipment. If you're not 100% sure and still think the credit might be better or let's say profitable. Then just think of what you expect to obtain from the peerless, not others valuation of it's price, not how much it might sold, but your own minimum price that makes you think that selling it is more profitable. Don't worry if others might think it's outrageous number, just think of one. After you have one number that you feel you wouldn't be disappointed by trading the equipment with, then send it to auction with the number as starting bid. If it's sold then it's good, right? you make the profit. If not, then it wasn't meant to be as profitable as you think. I got a peerless SDA too, soulfuse it, max forge it, and never bother to look for another shield. So what if it have AGI instead of END. It doesn't really matter, at least not as much as not having STR or DEX. Heck if it's SDE, I would sell it instead, because that would be serious money. Why I didn't bother between SDE and SDA? Because for my playstyle, even using haste is not exactly make my clear time longer, so why should I being picky between having extra defense from END or AGI. What about other equipments? Bottom line is consider what stats you need from the equipment, and use the one which having higher number on the said stats. For example this might be just a magnificent, but if you're only looking for ADB and PAB bonus from power armors, then it's fair to say that most legendaries below 25% ADB is not exactly an upgrade from that.

QUOTE(mouisaac @ Jan 12 2019, 23:27) Is leg SDE > peerless SDA or is it just peerless SED > peerless SDA? -snipped the rest- Peerless force shield is always better than non-Peerless. PABs don't matter regarding this. Comparatively, a peerless force shield will always have more block, and then the various defensive stats will make up for the possible lack of a Dex/End PAB. And don't forget that Agi contributes to PMit. But then, yes Peerless SDE > everything else. Unless you really want to max out your defense to the very highest, in which case DEA will provide slightly better PMit, but will give you attack speed too, at the cost of attack power. Regarding IW: the higher the quality of an equipment, the more rounds are needed for every IW run, the harder the late rounds are. For most Peerless, it makes 100 rounds IW runs, so monsters deal 300% damage at IW100. Do note that some Peerless need slightly less than the said 100 rounds. My force shield had 98 rounds IW runs IIRC. Roughly speaking, late rounds of Peerless equipment are roughly half harder than for Mags (that need around 40-45 rounds for most of them IIRC). Regarding the benefits of staying under level 400: yes there are some. When leveling up as slowly as possible, you need to change/upgrade your equipment less often, your likelyhood of dropping low level high quality equipment (thus more valuable) is higher, and you can spend your credits on other things, like your trainings, hath perks or the monster lab. On the other hand, a lower level means lower proficiencies, less powerful abilities, thus more difficult challenges. Overall, that is a choice to make, you struggle for (way) longer than the level rushers, but it will eventually pay off in many ways. Slowing down my leveling up is the choice I've made for my part, and I don't regret it. Of course, regarding that matter, everything that boosts your level is your enemy: cookies, gold star, awards, trainings, XP perks. Regarding exiting PFFEST early: it is commonly acknowledged that PFFEST starts being decently profitable if you can clear at least 400/500 rounds. You have to keep in mind that you use 1 stamina by just entering PFFEST and that the main income a PFFEST will be for you are crystals, not equipment or credit drops. So if you can reach PFFEST 400/500 without struggling excessively, yes it can be worth doing a 500 rounds PFFEST here and there when you've already cleared all arenas and you've got spare stamina. But if you're already struggling around PFFEST 200, then it's not the challenge/difficulty you're looking for. As far as I remember, PFFEST is still too hard around Lvl330. PFFEST 500 starts being acceptable around Lvl350, the full PFFEST around Lvl370/380. That is, if you have Legendary Power of Protection/Warding, a decently forged shield and a decently forged parry on your weapon. Using Haste as 1H: that can be done if the game is very difficult, to help you casting spells and kill monsters before their start doing funny SP attacks. But just like Shadow Veil, it will cripple your Overcharge. IIRC, as it's an in-combat buff just like Shadow Veil, Haste is a layer applied after all calculations on attack speed are done, so after the malus of Burden is applied: https://ehwiki.org/wiki/Character_Stats#Attack_SpeedSo feel free to use Haste: you will get your 50% bonus on attack/casting speed. If someone wants to correct me because I'm mistaken, feel free to do so, because I'm not 100% sure regarding that statement. At least, if you want to choose between Haste and Shadow Veil, I'd say go for Haste first, as its effects are not RNG-based and it will slow down the pace at which you'll endure MP/SP attacks. But then, you may need both. If you really want to increase your survivability, I'd advise to use Silence before resorting to Haste/Shadow Veil. Silence will prevent some monsters from using their MP/SP attacks without preventing them from using attacks at all. Thus without crippling your Overcharge, as they will use laughably weak attacks to crash themselves on your shield. Some players use Weaken, but I guarantee that Silence is way more efficient... at the cost of having a cooldown on the casting. To top it off, using Silence instead of Haste / Shadow Veil will help you building your Depr prof. Using Illithid weapons: I won't label them as shit like most players would. I'd say that they certainly do their job very well, but unfortunately there are plenty of other (preferable) ways to fix your mana consumption issues. That makes these weapons not very useful. So you'd want a slaughter weapon instead. Instead of generating more mana with your weapon, you should be looking for ways to limit your mana consumption by reducing the cost of your spells and optimizing your playstyle so you need to cast less often in the first place. So first things first: use Featherweight Shards, they reduce Burden and Interference significantly. A classical Power build has very high interference, which makes an insane mana cost modifier. Even with my full Peerless set, I have 159% mana cost, so I can easily imagine your set to have around 170% or more. The feathers are so cheap to get that I've wasted 7 of them to tell you that I fall to 128.9% mana cost when being fully feathered. That alone makes a significant difference. Then being fully feathered greatly reduces your burden aswell, which in return restores a large amount of attack speed and even evade. Basically, feathers is the one thing that will solve a big share of your issues with surviving/mana right now. You will be able to afford not using them later on when you will be tankier. Further than feathers, if it's not done already, you should have at least 10 slots for consumables, with all kinds of draughts, potions and elixirs slotted in. If you're still having mana issues after cracking mana potions and mana elixirs, then you're doing something very, very wrong. And don't hesitate to use health potions instead of Cure/Full-Cure, whenever available: they cost zero mana, have an instant effect so that monsters don't get a freebie. You should already be having (dozens of) thousands of them in your inventory anyway. And in the worst case scenario that you already used the health potion and that both Cure and Full-Cure are on cooldown, you still have the health elixir. So really, don't hesitate to use and abuse consumables: saving up a few dozens credits worth of potions and elixirs will never ever come close to being able to survive a challenge easier. All of these are certainly not dumb and random questions. I'd even go so far as calling them wise questions, as opposed to players who do stuff as they're told, without understanding anything to what they're doing.

Should is a strong word and i would not use it in this context. I mean lets say you do play 2H and you have fun playing 2H. What would be wrong about it? I sure as sure wouldnt tell you to stop play 2H. But, would i actually recommend to play 2H when you would ask me in general what playstyle one could use? No, probably not, but the same is true for 1H mage and i am sure there are a few out there who have fun with the game and in the end, that is what important, not what others tell you to do. QUOTE(kikikaki @ Jan 13 2019, 16:45) I should not play 2H. Right?
I played 2H (mace) on IWBTH for a while around level 250 and it was pretty good, but I wasn't able to do PFUDOR without using a lot of potions and sometimes dying. I then switched to 1H (rapier) and I as able to do PFUDOR with about the same ease I was doing IWBTH with 2H, and at about the same speed when using featherweight charms to reduce my burden below 70 to increase my crit chance and voidseeker's shard with some infusions to make the damage match my IW10 soulbound ethereal mace. Once I get a good ethereal rapier, I won't need infusions anymore aside from maybe a single featherweight on one piece of armour. Although I don't know what it's like at your level, at my level I just don't have the defense to play 2H on PFUDOR. Maybe it would be possible to do PFUDOR if I used shade shadowdancer armour instead of heavy armour and got more agility so I have some chance to evade, but I'm not sure. But I'm mostly just playing 1H to level up until I can play mage. I might try out the evasion 2H thing though. EDIT: on second thought, if I used shade armour then I'd probably have less HP and much less crush/slash and no pierce mitigation, along with less physical and magical mitigation, so I doubt it would help at all. But the much higher evade would cover for the lack of parry and block. Higher defense but no way to avoid damage is imo inferior to less defense but at least one good way to avoid damage complete.

Hmm, you're right. With good damage avoidance, spirit shield will do it's job better, since the big hits are capped at 20% of your HP anyway. Not to mention, I forgot that with shade armour you can also go high agility and get some extra attack speed (since you have 0 burden), which would help as well. I think I'll give it a try after all.

Thank everyone for answering all my questions! QUOTE(decondelite @ Jan 13 2019, 07:48) ...
I gave up on trying to get a good shield for now (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/cry.gif) Is it true that leg force shield >>>> any other kind of shields even if they are Peerless? For IW, the thing I was having trouble with is that IW on my exquisite shield is not easier than my mag shield and I just realize they are both above 60 rounds. (61 and 66 respectively, so maybe that's why?) I'm still leveling up too fast, but if I don't clear arena on PFUDOR I won't have enough income (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/anime_cry.gif) and I'm still using a very poor, mixed sets of equipments (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/cry.gif) A lot of good power armors are above 350 so I'm kinda in the middle of nowhere so I replaces my gear very slowly. I'll probably start doing PFFEST when I have good gears, for now, I'm spending way too much time on this game (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif) I almost always cast everything and it seems fine, so was wondering what would happen if I stop casting haste. I'll get IA3 soon so maybe I can just auto-cast haste and shadow vail? I don't auto-cast spirit shield because I thought spirit draughts are more expensive than mana draughts and so I manually cast it when needed. I don't use silence that often, is the max affected target 3? I started to use weaken not long ago and I just cast it with imperil (both have no cd). So slaughter > balance > nimble > any others and we only want slaughter basically right? I can't find a time to use Featherweight Shards, maybe before SGs? I have exactly 160% mana cost modifier (119.9 interference, 67.9 burden), so I think I should use FS on all of my equipments only when doing PFFEST? And maybe 1 or 2 when fighting with SGs? I mostly use draughts only and occasionally a few potions when in the last few rounds of IW or when SoL is activated. I assume I'll be using potions and maybe elixirs in later rounds of GF, when do you normally start using them (past 700?), or not at all? I should really just try it first but I'm still waiting for replacements of my mag armors which have quite a bit of level differences. I wish I have more time to explore myself but it seems like asking is the fastest way to fix all of the bigger issues. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- When do shrining trophies become profitable? I just shrined 5M worth of trophies and I merely got 4 leg, 30 ish mag equipments and only 2 of them are not completely trash (usable but not good) and I sold/salvaged all the others. I'll never get the snowflake perk so maybe I should just never shrine trophies? (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/huh.gif) Do a bronze star or a silver star worth their price or only GS has values? I'll stay below 400 a bit longer and then get a GS, so I can get a BS or SS as they don't give you cookies.

Basically, yes for 1H. QUOTE(mouisaac @ Jan 13 2019, 20:03) For IW, the thing I was having trouble with is that IW on my exquisite shield is not easier than my mag shield and I just realize they are both above 60 rounds.
It is not worth doing because you will probably get a better shield. Also shield IW is far unimportant than armor IW because it cannot get Juggernaut potency. QUOTE(mouisaac @ Jan 13 2019, 20:03) I don't use silence that often, is the max affected target 3?
Yes. QUOTE(mouisaac @ Jan 13 2019, 20:03) I'll never get the snowflake perk so maybe I should just never shrine trophies?
Simply, yes.

The first thing you want is a good shield. Then a good Rapier. Then Legendary Power of Protection or Warding, some of them above level 400 can be bought for 50k, and soulfuse it so that it can actually remain strong enough to effectively kill monsters. Force shields are good because of high Block. You said you are wearing mixed armors. Does that mean you are wearing light and heavies together? What are your current equips? QUOTE For IW, the thing I was having trouble with is that IW on my exquisite shield is not easier than my mag shield and I just realize they are both above 60 rounds. (61 and 66 respectively, so maybe that's why?) IW increases monster difficulty faster than PFfest. There are also a number of Free IW services located in WTS. QUOTE So slaughter > balance > nimble > any others and we only want slaughter basically right? For what, Rapiers? Yes. Just try to find one with good ADB and Parry. Good elemental Strikes can come in time. QUOTE I don't use silence that often, is the max affected target 3? I started to use weaken not long ago and I just cast it with imperil (both have no cd). Silence max target is 3. QUOTE I almost always cast everything and it seems fine, so was wondering what would happen if I stop casting haste. I'll get IA3 soon so maybe I can just auto-cast haste and shadow vail? I don't auto-cast spirit shield because I thought spirit draughts are more expensive than mana draughts and so I manually cast it when needed. How often do you die? I personally would advise against that and do Haste + Spirit Shield. I don't care to use Veil at all. Spark of Life is useful on occasion. QUOTE I can't find a time to use Featherweight Shards, maybe before SGs? I have exactly 160% mana cost modifier (119.9 interference, 67.9 burden), so I think I should use FS on all of my equipments only when doing PFFEST? And maybe 1 or 2 when fighting with SGs?
Use them before SGs yes, if it speeds up your clear time. QUOTE When do shrining trophies become profitable? You should have sold them to blackjac or Yuu. You can still to blackjac, but don't expect a reply soon.

yes, they have their benefits. However, you'll miss out on the monster lab, and a couple of more very nice features. I recommend bronze or silver only if you don't have the money for gold. And, don't be afraid of leveling up. It's not that bad at all. You can much easier find decent equipment at higher levels. Sure, your drops will lose some value, but they are low value most of the time anyways. And the real good stuff - it doesn't matter what level those are.

QUOTE(mouisaac @ Jan 13 2019, 20:03) -snip- If you're having roughly the same interference than me, then it can only mean you're using plate armor and or non-force shield. You're not actually having the mana issues that many players of your level typically have, so imagine the higher mana consumption that is theirs. To be very accurate, a Peerless Kite Shield's block chance is equivalent to a 13% Force Shield. I'd advise you to get a cheap Mag Force Shield or to sink in a few credits for the next Legendary Force Shield that pops up in the auctions. A high block Buckler of the Barrier is fine too: they're not as strong as Force Shields, but are close to it and don't suffer the same outrageous interference. IMHO, if you have Legendary Plate mixed with Magnificent Power, it's not that bad. They have higher defense than power armor after all. You can even forge them a bit without having to sink in some horribly expensive Repurposed Actuator. But if you want to go full Power, be on the lookout for some Legendary of Protection/Warding. Or even Peerless of Protection/Warding if you dont mind sinking more credits in that kind of equipment. As for when it is starting to get hard for us in PFFEST... that doesn't matter for you. Just try PFFEST and see for yourself when it's starting to be unbearably hard. You can always flee when you just can't proceed without using tons of potions and elixirs, there is no shame to flee. Just prepare yourself thoroughly before entering (feathers, infusions, repairing your armor), analyze how the game flow is going and finetune your playstyle. Last advice: don't compare yourself to higher level players. Nor to anyone else actually.

The gear that I am currently using is listed on my signature... needs a lot of improvement for sure, in the same time requires credits and time... it's a plate with powers that are mostly protections (which gives 75.4% Pmit and 67.9 Mmit).
So who needs a kite shield or a buckler? I thought there is plenty of force shields? or are they better than some mag force shield?
I have bought a force shield from Evil's auction but I don't need it anymore, am looking for a better one.
The armors I need either exceeds my budget or got sniped so I just gonna try again next week...
Actually, I have already prepared some replacements but they are 350+ so maybe it'll still take quite long to get there.
Things get busy now, gonna stop for a bit, so maybe only a few hours a day.

I think you already know this but bronze and silver star will count towards your gold star, so it doesn't hurt to get them along the way, like I am doing. Also if you like hentais, bronze star grants the greatest power of all which is to download mass hentai archives automatically for free.
I think bucklers are good and worth their price, but they are rare and it is hard to find good legendary bucklers of the barrier with SDE. Force shields are way more common than bucklers of the barrier.
If you are trying to get a great force shield it's mostly an issue of how much you are willing to pay. If you are trying to get a great barrier buckler you'll probably have enough money but you might have to wait years for someone to sell a good one.

Bucklers of the barrier are worth something? I actually have one and never knew it was anything. I've never played heavy... never used a shield. Just looked.... SDA though. oops. Not sure if it's new or not. Say if you triggered a RE while viewing galleries and then click into e.g. an image or front page, without the script, you lose that one time RE and have to wait for another 30mins (iirc). That "RE" there is like a link saver and will turn red if a RE is saved. By experience, leaving the page when RE is triggered by closing the window doesn't work. Sorry for the long shitty explanation, I am just not at explaining stuff. (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)
