I hadn't heard of IW at the time I soulfused it.

No. That's a major issue with soulfusing and items won in the lottery.

You use Ethereal with 2 different Infusions to get the same Void + 2 elemental strikes...

Yes, you can have 2 elemental strikes + void strike, but ethereal weapons start with void strike and get random at IW10 (which you can't change unless you reforge, and average damage of holy strike is considerably higher than, for example, fire strike) so many players choose to not gamble and get desired strikes by infusing

If you adamant about shrining them - good enough equips are better low level (not every under 400 lvl player has many soul fragments), but very rare top stuff might be better around 500 lvl since you don't really need to soulfuse it and might want to sell it or lend to someone

Or you can sell it for 150k (or more?) on WTB and get really nice amount of credits

Or use them when you need equips for your lvl

Depend on element
but if you're talking holy I believe it's hallowed oak of heimdall.

and I don't know how deep you're in this mage hell, but it's all in or die trying here, a half-assed try out wouldn't give you something favorable.

unfortunately non-forged fully iw-ed set wouldn't be able to comfortably stand in front of most late pf arena, and believe me the non sg one are worse than the sg one. at the very least forge your proficiency to close to the already established necessary proficiency per advanced advice wiki... oh wait, holy is 1.0.. derp...

charged is close to a necessity if you wants to play GF, it's the haste for 1h around lvl 250-350 - useful for survivability but might be dismiss-able if you feel confident with your defense already - in mage case, if you're confident with your cannon size already.

Holy is very expensive to get it going right. If you must, first step is to find a staff. But if you can find a good dark staff, or wind, or elec, choose that and sell your heimdalls - that's my advice in case you are not super-rich.

Okay, so find a staff. Then, play imperil style, those shoes are enough for that. But they need to be fully forged on prof.
Then with imperil, you will find you need charged gear. Get that.

If you go dark, I have some nice imperil-play gear for sale, basically for free + forge costs. If anything, that would give you an idea of how much credits you would need to get imperil-style going. Non-imperil is far more expensive.

My piece of advice: don't "try out" to go mage. Do it seriously and invest a lot in forging.
Be sure about what to do before you do it.

Jug25 and Forge 10 everything (20 for the staff's MDB) is the very, very minimum to do something.
Forget anything that isn't charged for now, unless it's Peerless. Get yourself either a charged cotton cap or charged cotton shoes.
And use a second charged cotton somewhere else (I'd suggest gloves or pants) until you have very heavily forged your staff's and your cap/shoes proficiency.

Yep, you'll salvage mag soon or later and leg is only 1 lvl lower so you can soulfuse or sell it later
