I have a few question for those that walks the road of a 1H mage.
I'm working on a set to use on GF after I get a few levels of crystarium. So here it goes; How does a prof factor of 0.45 sounds (1 cotton)? Should I use two cotton cloths? or that would be worse?
I'll appreciate any feedback.

My experience has been that 2 cloth works a bit better. However, I don't have Eminent Elementalist so not sure if that makes the difference. If I were to guess I'd say 3+2 and 4+1 will be pretty close.

If you are not sure when taking into account EE and nobody else have a word on this means that I need to try it myself. Not sure if it's worth the effort, tho. Thanks for your answer. c:

I have tried this, for cold 1h mage, and for dark 1h mage. For cold, I used 1 prof slot. That should be enough, your proficiency will go up in time anyway. For dark, 3+2 is better. I did all sorts of testing for dark: - you can play even without prof cotton, but you lose speed. - close to 0.8 is best, but you don't necessarily need 0.8 prof factor for 1h mage. 0.6-0.7 works almost just as well. That would mean for elemental that 0.45 is fine to start with.

I picked this up 33 levels ago. [172848917] Legendary Hallowed Rapier of Slaughter (Level 310, IW 10, forged 5, ADB 57%, Parry 56%)I currently have 4470 soul fragments and it'll cost 500 to soulfuse it. 1) Should I soulfuse it, or try to buy something better and sell it? 2) If I tried to sell it, what would I get for it?

If you have any plan to switch to mages in the future, in which most players do, sell it in the future because a holy one is definitely rare at your level. 2m or so, maybe 3m or 4m if lucky. If you prefer melee for life, both work. Buying a better one or soulfuse it. But still I would recommend you to sell it since you got so many soul frags. You can get a high-level one with much better stats for maybe 3m.

Thanks for answering my question. It's good to know that I'm at a good starting point. c: This post has been edited by Xythuard: Nov 15 2018, 16:56

Hmm, I'm actually not sure if I want to switch to being a mage or not. When I hit level 310, I started collecting gear to spec for a mage, but I'm finding it much more difficult to play than 1H melee. Maybe my gear sucks, maybe my play style sucks, or maybe the whole "glass cannon" thing is just part of it no matter what. I guess I'll hold off on soulfusing it for now. If I can get 2m or so that'd be nice, but I almost want to keep it as a memento because it was the first legendary drop I ever got. That's probably silly seeing as it's just a few bits and bytes on a server somewhere, but the sentiment is there all the same. One follow up question. Why do you recommend selling because I have so many soulfrags? I would've expected the opposite advice. Namely, to soulfuse it because I have so many to spare. I get the feeling I'm missing something important here... (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/unsure.gif) Anyway, thanks for the advice! (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

How does Gift Factor work? Wiki said it can increase the number of gifts which monster can hold up. So why should I increase it? (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/unsure.gif) Further more, I'm also confused about the relationship between Win/Kill and gifts. Is it one Win/Kill one gifts? I found that sometimes my monster had added some Wins, but didn't give gifts immediately. Is there a cooldown between every giving?

More gift factor: higher chance of getting 2 or 3 gifts in stead of 1. Gifts: you get gift from each monster every 3 days. This is your main source of gifts. Next to that, you get gift for each win or kill. Yes, there is a cooldown for getting the gift message. You still get the gifts, but next time you see the message. Best strategy: don't go for more win/kill - go for more monsters and get gifts every 3 days.

Of course I know. I have already unlocked all slots. So where should I spend chaos tokens on next. Highly upgrade those ones which are high PL(over 1500), or scatter them on most monsters which are low PL(500-800)?

(IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/unsure.gif) Cuz that means you have enough to spend on gears that are up to 100 levels beyond you. Players who play frequently would usually lack soul fragments since most good legendary equipments are between lv400~500, which would cost you up to 1500 for each one you soulfuseIf your rapier was at lv500, it would've been less than 500k in auction. Now it's lv310, and it will likely get 2m or even more. For 1m you can get a rapier with higher adb. You are trading soul fragments for a better, cheaper rapier.

Then I'd go for high PL first.

I'd scatter the tokens evenly on all monsters, as it increases the overall drop chance much better, and ensure you get more drops like rares, BoS/BoD. Using the tokens only on high PL will increase a tiny bit your overall revenuewith the HGC/HGW, but just like having more monsters is more efficient, having a way high gift factor on all the monsters is better than focusing on only one.

Why do you recommend selling because I have so many soulfrags? I would've expected the opposite advice. Namely, to soulfuse it because I have so many to spare. Even though you can try mage as early as level 310 it's probably better to wait until near level 400. The higher level you are the tankier your body gets, and also the tankier monsters get, so there arises a natural desire and benefit to switch to mage. There are many players who reach level 500 as a warrior, so it's not a requirement. I have a decent low level rapier too. A hybrid idea I had is to lend out valuable low level equipment but with collateral payment to discourage stealing (which could be unintentional, players go AFK for various reasons). Like selling the item but with a verbal promise to sell it back to you after they don't need it anymore. The soul fragments recommendation could go either way as you pointed out, but players generally consider the basic 500 fragment cost to be easy to gather, and much less than the ~1500 fragments for soulfusing higher level items.

Could anyone point me to known people who give out loans ( at least 5 million credits or equivalent in Hath )?
Searching indicates, that Scremaz is (at least was) one of them…
Thank you.

How do I find better equipment? I've been stuck on the same level 180 equipment for a long time, and I'm already level 260 or so.

Scremaz is a good option. As second choice, I'd go for Scremaz. If you're looking for a bargain, however, then Scremaz is you man. If you want the cheapest rates, you should choose Scremaz. For better conditions on the loan, it would be Scremaz that has those. Alternatively, if you must, you could perhaps try Scremaz. try low level shops, auctions or even FreeSHop. This post has been edited by DJNoni: Nov 17 2018, 19:20
