Where do amnesia shards drop exactly? Is it just a random drop?

According to wiki - random hard or higher difficulty drop, but they quite rare so it's easier to just buy them and ask someone with dark descent perk to reforge your equips for half amount before you soulfuse stuff (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/happy.gif)

According to wiki, they drop in every difficulty besides normal.

It's also good to take into account that if you play more Arenas than Items Worlds and Grindsfests, which have less monsters per turn, your chances of random loot are less than they could be on the other two battle modes, simply due to less monster present to drop things, as Arenas are made to farm raw credits.

On my side at least, I played two GFs today and got two shards, but there are days when I get more and days where I get none, so simply RNG at work. (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)

Oooo makes sense. I've been doing mostly arenas. A few IWs but not much and like, 1 grindfest days ago.

You shouldnt do grindfest. Because of the additional 1 stamina it cost, it is just worth it when you actually play at least +200 rounds. You should do arenas, and if you have done all arenas, IW of some random equipment.

Ehm, my post was an advice for an lvl 265 player who sure as sure dont has Dark Descent. So of course i didnt mention that possibility. (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/mellow.gif)

I guess it's something that usually follows japanesse weekly calendar element like most mobage or something, but I wants to make sure as afaik there's no "earth" element (from saturday) on HV.

You might have done some similar calculations if you are a data maniac like many here, me included, but here's my look on this matter.

On GF, after the initial rounds, it will become normal to find 7 to 9 monsters every turn, so for the sake of this argument, let's say that you will find 8 monsters in average per turn on each GF you do.

Considering that, we can say we slay 8000 monsters in every grindfest.

Using my own trainings, I believe I get an average drop rate of 28% (base 10 + 15 monster PL + 3 scavenger), so we have:

8000 x 28% = 2240 drops (in the presented ideal conditions)

Using my archeologist training (8/10), I should have a 0.36% chance of an artifact drop among all these drops, so:

2240 x 0.36% = 8

So, you should be getting an average of 8 artifacts per GF if you have numbers similar to mine, so even if you get 8 artifacts by doing 2 GFs on day 1, and 24 artifacts the next day with 2 more GFs, you should still be in the average drop rate.

Of course, RNG is RNG, so you may always have better or worse luck overall, and I'm not even considering Quartermaster training in my math here, which should directly affect artifact and other drops rates, as the Equipment roll occurs before anything else.

You could artificially increase the drop rate of other items by capping your quipment inventory, but I don't know why you would do that, considering that you can earn a decent amount from bazaaring the trash gear, besides always having the chance for mag+ wood and cloth drops, not even counting those cheeky Peerless. Please forgive me if I'm completely wrong in my math, but that's the thought process I have been following so far. (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

EDIT: took at look at the wiki again, and it states here that the maximum drop rate is 27.5%, so this is wrong already, but it should still get you the proper idea. (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

How much difference does PFUDOR have on drop rates compared to IWBTH？

Should I stay on PFUDOR or switch to IWBTH because if the drop rates are similar IWBTH doesn't require much managing compared to PFUDOR where I need to watch the spirit bar or I might die suddenly.

And i am absolute sure it is. Actually the lowest quality drop for PFUDOR is Superior in total. When you play them all on PFUDOR the only average you will get are the Arena Clear Drop from the arenas from the first page.

Not a big one. But one you will definite notice when you compare a whole complete week.

The lowest drop rate on PFUDOR for all equipment coming from monsters is superior, but the magnificent guaranteed drop in DwD is only from the arena clear bonus.

This also applies to the starting arenas, where the clear bonus equip will still be average even if you are playing on PFUDOR.

Regarding IWBTH and PFUDOR, you should always play on higher difficulties if you have the chance to for better drops, but it's also good to consider if you are having fun playing, and the amount you end up spending by using more potions/elixirs if your defenses aren't that good yet.

I think I may have remembered wrong but I got a average shade helmet the first time I finished DnD on PFUDOR, I'm pretty sure though.
I'll see if I can get another average.

PFUDOR took me 80 of each draught to clear DnD and maybe 10-20 pots, its kind of frustrating to die because spirit shield stopped the first hit and lowered you spirit under the spark of life threshold but it's alot more exciting than IWTBH.

Nope, no average on PUFDOR DwD, on IWBTH it would be possible, but not on PFUDOR. Sure as sure.

Oh, what a suprise, someone who is able to do PFUDOR DwD "thanks" to SoL dont have fun doing it on PFUDOR and get even failed from SoL. Oh, no, how could that be possible. Damned SoL. I wish 10bo had never the idea to create you in the first place. (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/sleep.gif)

And in your case i would say, play aka play AND have actual fun DwD on a lower difficulty. What you doing sounds to me more like forcing yourself, near to torture. But nothing that does actually create joy. If it helps, i cant remember ever getting a good drop from the arena clear bonus from DwD.

Well I maybe could clear DwD without it, but I'm not sure how I would survive half a round of monsters critting me basicly draining my HP and SP.

It's not like I'm procing SoL every other round, pretty much every time I proc it is when I'm half hp but too lazy to heal and then get multiple crits from monsters.It does help that I'm on my phone on reddit while playing and tend to press buttons not looking if I'm close to death too.

Yeah I can understand that it's a pretty meh mechanic , but it's really helpful when you equipment is shit.
