Take a high int Celestial for example, it seems like it would be a lot better to just use a 80 power holy magic skill instead of sometimes using a physical slashing/crushing skill with less power.

Do you have any ideo how many of those so much stronger attacks are done every day, or even hour in this game and how few actually have any effect? So when you now dream about a killer monster who does actually beat the shit out of players, well, keep dreaming but that wont come true. Because that is not how the game works. Just look at yourself. How often do you get killed in the game?

When it comes to clearing arenas, do you go for speed or high difficulty? Since forging my shield and getting juggernaut on one of my equips (seriously, I'm an idiot for not realizing what a boost this is) I've realized I can comfortably do PFUDOR DWD with no problem. Much less of a grind than before, but it's still a grind.

At the end, I tend to always get a Magnificent drop which is awesome, but I'm not guaranteed that quality drop on any other arenas, and I don't really care about leveling fast so I've just been clearing the rest of the arenas on lower difficulties (Nintendo and IWBTH, depending), mostly for speed. That's cool, right? I'm not missing out on anything huge by doing that?

Difficulty of course. When you are able to play on PFUDOR without any problem there is just no reason to reduce diff just for faster clearing speed.

I mean, I do see your point. I think at your level I would do it all on PFUDOR. But for example, as soon as I saw your reply I went and did End of Days on PFUDOR. Took me 18 minutes. Only got a little bit more credits than I would have, and got 7 (non mag/leg) equips. I get more EXP but I'm not really concerned about that lol (at all) If I'm gonna clear the arena for the trophies, I could have done it in 9 minutes or less on a slightly lower difficulty, and I wouldn't have lost out on much, compared to DWD where at least I get a decent equip drop.

In older versions of HV, I played the SG arena's on lower difficulty, rest on PFUDOR. "Make sure you are Hard when facing SchoolGirls" we used to say. But now, the difference in clear speed is much much less than it used to be, so I stick to PFUDOR.

I suppose what I'm going to do is just compare (for the SG arenas) what it's like if I play it on Nintendo, IWBTH, and PFUDOR. If the time save is minimal, I might just PFU'd it up. If it's a decent amount, for now, I might lower it just a bit. I'm mostly clearing for the trophies (to sell for better equips) Once my equips are all legendary, IW'd, forged and stuff, I'll probably just always do PFUDOR. I always used to think I was on the super low end of the scale, mostly cuz I was a self-drop equip man for so long, and only had crappy stuff until 300. If you're saying 18 minutes is a good clear at my level, then dang, man. I gotta get a legendary weapon and forge/IW the rest of my equips, because I barely have that and I'm (apparently) clearing it pretty well! Imagine what I could do with some nice equipment (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/ohmy.gif)

At your level i only had a Mag temp rapier of slaughter self drop. And no i dont say that 18 minutes is a good clear time at your level. I was literaly asking you, what would be wrong with 18 minutes for end of days. Because imagine what you will think when you finaly leave the low level player protection. Btw can someone tell me what level that actually is? All i know is that i was allready beyond that when 10bo did change that game, so i have absolute no idea. Both. Or at the very least, the highest difficulty possible without spending all your time healing.

Wiki says that difficulty counts toward the drop quality roll. Also: "Nightmare and below have 0% chance for Legendary/Peerless". So there is that.
And while arena clear bonus of DwD is guaranteed magnif, my statistics with it is not particulary good - only got maybe 5 or so legendaries of that, while whole lot of of legs and few peerless coming from random drops. So I would go for higher difficulty just for a chance of nice drop and a joy one brings.

I use HV Utils

I use shield=staff=salvage, everything else=bazaar.
There might be some tiny loss, but it's certainly not worth the time spent doing the calculations/using tools.
