Hello, I'm pretty new and I'm just taking my time learning the game. I'm playing as a 1h/light armor user, but I've read the DOs and DONTs suggesting even melee should use spells. The trouble is, I don't know how to raise my magic proficiency so I could, well, use spells. Do I need to switch to a staff for a while or something?

And by spells, you'll mostly be using buffs and cures. Cure is important. Protection is important. As you level up you'll get Spark of Life, Spirit Shield, stuff like that. Some people cast debuffs like Imperil (I definitely do, it's great for the SG arenas which you'll encounter when you're past level 200).

Anyways, your proficiency is probably fine for the spells you'll be casting. Protect, cure, etc. Your proficiency for Deprecating and Supportive will rise, without you needing to pay any attention to it. You don't need to worry about elemental, divine, or forbidden. At least not for now. Later on if you want to play mage, then that's a different story.

But yeah, you don't need to (and are not recommended to) use offensive spells as melee.

My guess would be that scremaz means that they are both not really be taken too serious. They are both not great perks.

Jolly is a positive word. So they are both nice, but VV is nicer.

Is there a place to ask for forge services, or is it assumed that there's already a lot of people with maxed out forges? I need to get my last 13 forges on the shield.

Right now, I have 40 chaos tokens saved up, and currently 10 monsters of various levels but not really upgraded in anything other than the gift giving aspect. Should I create more monsters and level up slowly the crystals or should I save them for further gift upgrades throughout the 10 monsters?

Create more monsters and level each of them at least to lvl 25 mmm...

Should I start by upgrading evade, holy spell damage, divine proficiency or something else?

Going no imperil build, still getting a helmet and legs.

2. Damage! No phase shall be less than forged to 50 when it comes to damage. I have spoken. So says I. But it is rediculously expensive, go as fast as you can afford the phazons.
3. If you want to go deep into PFFEST - you need more survive skills, so evade is forged to 50 as well. And PMI / MMI are forged a bit as well. Now we're talking serious spending on forge materials.

How much more defense is going power slaughter over shade? I know that in this game, your armor actually ends up mostly determining your attack power more than your defense, but I'm wondering how much less I'd be taking from all the piercing attacks that usually get spirit shielded.

Do you want now to know the defense or just piercing mitigation? When you just look at piercing. Power armor will protect you much more as shade. Because shade dont has any piercing mit.
