Yes, also if you want to play with imperil, HOH is the way to go. But when you get a bit stronger, you'll see you don't need / want imperil anymore. SG are an exeption, feel free to imperil those until you are Extremely Strong.

So...Does that means LHKD is weaker than LHOH in all circumstance? I thought Katalox with depc prof is more suitable for imperil style

You miss counter resist, which makes LHKD weaker in my opinion. Especially now that depc prof can get higher than your level. Difference isn't too bad, it's like redwood cold, that works fine just slightly slower than willlow wind.

If you have four radiants LARN/PARN should be pretty close to LARD/PARD so it actually depends.

The real question is how competitive is Artic Willow now that it's possible to get to 0.68/0.7 with willow + shoes.
10.44 EDB vs 13.59 CR (and better depr prof).
Given how many high-PL monsters are there I wouldn't be surprised if Willow would be the best choice when elemental prof is 6-7% above the player level.

Adept Learner, Ability Boost if you need some ability points. A few level of Assimilator are not wrong if you can easy afford them. And as usual Scavenger, Luck of the Draw, Quartermaster and Archaeologist only up to a level you can easy afford the credits for not more. Metabolism and Inspiration are imo also usefull, but only if you really have a lot of monsters 100+. I guess that is all.

More seriously, I'd advise to get Scavenger, Quartermaster, Luck of the Draw and Archeologist all at the same progression. If you got Scavenger 25/50, then Quartermaster should be at 10/20. Really don't neglect LoTD, it's what gives you all the spirit draughts you need, a healthy amount of edibles/cuisine and rare equips instead of cotton/leather/plate shit.

As for leveling up... your call. Same goes for the ability points.

No. Especially since the attack damage bonus of the 2H playstyle is way more depending on the weapon's ADB than for 1H or DW.

Right! Penetrator always. I guess you can do without Spellweaver if you have a very strong build and play without imperil. But by that time, you'll be the expert. When you are not yet the expert: Pen5, Spel4 or bust.

You want to play mage? Best to use elemental if you are not very very rich. Not dark or holy. So I'll explain for elemental.

You cast 'Freeze' (cold damage spell). Monster 'Can of Kickass' resists / mitigates / ... the thing for 90%. So you barely scratch it! That means you don't have sufficient proficiency for elemental.

You need more elemental proficiency than the monsters. And they get chaos tokens, and are the same level as you, so you need way more proficiency than your level.

For elemental: 0.68 prof factor will fix that. First you imperil 'Can of Kickass', then with your prof factor 0.68 your 'freeze' will do Great Damage.

Wut? Prof factor? Huh? Prof factor = ( [your base proficiency] / [your level] ) -1

base elemental proficiency can be found on your character page.

So... how do I get prof higher than my level?! You use Legendary ... Cotton ... of the Elementalist.

But then I can't have 5 phase equips! Right. That's where the 4+1 kicks in. For elemental, you only need one cotton, so you can play 4+1 to get 0.68 prof factor, and play imperil style.

I think prof factor uses effective prof since base profs cap at 1.2 of player's lvl
