Ah.., now that's out of league when talk about mage. If you got 3 charged in a set then the peerless one is better, but some say going full charged will help you a lot better than radiant or plain. It's like almost 3% CS each gears will make your casting way quicker than enemies attacks...

(Correct me if i'm wrong)

Dont overestimate the value of the PAB's of an item. There are stats that are more important. (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/happy.gif)

If you hardly ever have to cure, go for the peerless. If cure is often, go for the charged. If you die sometimes, go for charged.

I play imperil on the schoolgirls arenas since it helps and it's easy to just shifthover imperil on them, on the other hand grindfest I don't, too much of a hassle to imperil the whole round, I can reach round 500-550 but it takes too many elixirs, I usually stop at round 400
Though my staff is kinda shitty (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/heh.gif)

One question of mine, should I try to go for the pants on Super's auction? Mine are radiant but maybe I need a bit more of CS, I know I should get a charged robe, but that'll be another time when there's a decent at an auction

Yes, also if you want to play with imperil, HOH is the way to go. But when you get a bit stronger, you'll see you don't need / want imperil anymore. SG are an exeption, feel free to imperil those until you are Extremely Strong.

(IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/blink.gif) dude!? Okay, you want cast speed. But trade a good radiant for a charged? In holy style? My advice is: run away from that auction. Run! Don't look back! Run!

Edit: I checked your stats. Your cast speed is pretty good, good enough. You don't need more. Your evade is way, way too low. If you want to survive longer, you need more forging. Evade, AGI, WIS, INT, PMI. Those excellent pants of yours deserve forge 50 on all these stats. And even your temporary gear like the robe needs more forging. Save your money for that. With this set, you will be able to play PFFEST when fully forged. And then you save money for more radiants.

does charged have any use for 1h mage? i figure it probably is less necessary since i have parry and block.

considering the extra defenses i have, i feel like a combination of frugal and radiant if affordable would be the best combination. i don't plan on investing very much into this build since i like melee but i want this to be able to handle pffest or atleast IWBTH fest so i can put my mana pots to better use.

right now i have these 3 pieces for the build:

not much use, but if you plan to go full mage afterwards and you can afford it, why not. For you, I'd say not useful.

I did cold 1h mage, and that is pretty okay mana-wise. You can maintain your mana bar with draught + potion, and only sometimes need elixir. I think elemental damage spells consume a bit less mana than dark or holy.

A cheap radiant is better than a high rolled frugal. I noticed that if it's not top-notch, mage gear is ridiculously cheap these days. So go for a mediocre radiant if you can.
