other suffixes work as well, I think slaughter is still great, and protection is also not useless

Balance is good until you notice that your damage is lagging, then Slaughter, Protection=Warding. Don't underestimate the power of element-proof charms as well. Throw in Shielding/Reactive for a bit of block.

I know Shadow Veil is good for 1H in isekai now because you counter on dodge in new patch, but should I be using Haste as well? It feels to me that any time you save dealing extra damage with those new nerfed counters is negated by having to re-cast depreciating spells which seem to have been nerfed in duration. So you're just left with less defense for no reason.

Also just how much was Penetrated Armor buffed? I switched to rapier from shortsword, and I barely notice a difference between imperiled and non-imperiled kill time. Is imperil even worth it on rapier in new patch?
