Currently, there is no real reason to play One-Handed plus shield in Isekai. Dual Wield for melee. One-Handed Mage in The Tower.

Tower Shield > everything else. Unless for specific scenarios.

With 700 Block, I am at around 25% (someone correct me on this "off the top of my head" mathematics) Full Block chance against monsters with 350~ Accuracy.
With 1150 Accuracy, I have around 75%(?) chance to full hit against monsters with 650~ Evade? I believe.

Rapiers are wonderful because of the new Penetrated Armour effect.
Bleed is very strong against monsters with a lot of HP.

No real idea about Attack Speed.

jokes aside, i'm not going for floor 100 this season so i guess anything goes, but i've noticed i'm struggling more than i did last season.

this is my current setup:

Legendary Ethereal Shortsword of Swiftness
Legendary Agile Kite Shield of the Barrier
Magnificent Power Helmet of Protection
Legendary Ruby Power Armor of Slaughter
Magnificent Power Gauntlets of Warding
Legendary Onyx Power Leggings of Protection
Magnificent Jade Power Boots of Protection

i'm willing to try other styles, how should i build for DW?
is full power ok or sohuld i mix in some shade as i was reading is in fashion this season?

i haven't found any decent rapier, this is my other weapon that i use to IW the main one:
Magnificent Ethereal Club of Balance

What would be an optimal DW build for the tower? Still Club of Slaughter and Rapier of Balance, I presume, but what about the armor, Shade helmet and pants + 3 power of warding?

Also with the block nerf, does 1H mage favor battlecaster over barrier buckler now? Maybe also nimble over battlecaster on the weapon since the shield is less defense?

You will have to ask lololo16 and Slit regarding these topics (they both frequent the unofficial Discord server). I am only a humble melee Shield player (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/smile.gif). Honestly, I should not be making any "declarative" statements whatsoever, since I do have but a single Isekai season playing One-Handed Shield plus Power "under my belt". A fact which I have seemingly forgotten and should remind myself of regularly.

I must, once again, direct you to lololo16. He is doing rather well playing Duel Wield. Balance seems like the Suffix to go for. Ethereal weapons are extremely in demand. Other than that...I would be making assumptions.

I don't think rapier works on tower anymore, even in previous season it's not optimal choose, and for this season, I think you will have trouble with it right on tomorrow's tower.
club+rapier was optimal for arena before, but for this season, I don't know. 10b is tend to make you choose dagger or waki for offhand, and I don't have interested or ISK to test how it works with lots of change. at least it doesn't work at the beginning of season
