Well Magnificent Amber is pretty rare at level 191. I doubt I could have confused it for another rare item of that low level. I think something else strange is going on. You can see the Potency is 3/325. That isn't even possible, either. The level is 31 or something per fight. I'm not going to check right now in case it overwrites logs or something. I think when I lost a Item World battle, it glitched out somehow. I usually fight on Nintendo difficulty lately.

It was at level 6 iirc. Potency 0 of 3/325 is clearly impossible, so its evident that something is wrong.

The 3 EXP is from Physical Defense Lv.1 upgrade.

I also enabled these somewhat recently. This resets a bunch of stuff, is it possible that it reset Potencies on my equipped items?

AH!
Potency Tier: 0 (3 / 325)

That means, you need 322 more PXP to reach level 1. In fact, these 3 points can only come from forging. Not from IW. We can for sure say: This equipment has not been IW'd - not one IW attempt was completed succesfully.

Is there a way to remove the effects of a Training or disable a specific Training?
For example, my Adept Learner has already reached 178/300.

Can I reset it back to 0/300?
Or is there a way to disable it?

Certain low level equipments are rather expensive; selling those might be worth the slower levelling to some people. Meaning: staying below level 350 (random threshold) for as long as possible. Personally, I value Scavenger/Quartermaster over Adept Learner past level 400. My pea sized brain requires a new shiny as often as possible.

Scavenger/Quartermaster are not comparable with Adept Learner

to go from lvl1 to 300 in adept learner cost 5,126,663 credit

That's the price of 1 level of Scavenger/Quartermaster toward the end (I do know lvl 45 to 46 in scavenger cost 1,244,724, and lvl 17 to 18 Quartermaster cost 2,887,102; and they pretty much double in cost at each level by this point)

I was reluctant to level up adept learner, until I saw that it also speed up proficiency gains, so it is not useless/waster credit once we reach lvl 500 (I don't know how much it speeds up Proficiency gains though).

Oh in terms of prices? Definitely not comparable. I merely do not care much about experience past level 400. Without a gold star and all the perks and proficiency training; level 500 and 600 proficiency are both a pipe dream. Might as well focus on loot is the way I look at it. I would not recommend anyone to do anything I do. I am far from being any kind of an expert in HentaiVerse (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/smile.gif).

I was told it works in the same way as the "assimilator" bonus past level 500. But really, it's never a waste: the main value of "adept learner" and XP perks is getting to level range 350-400 as quickly as possible and being able afford and soulfuse all the good auction gear, so improving your clear times. Also getting to all of the profitable arenas as quickly as possible. As in, it improves your credits earned to time spent on game ratio even with all the credits invested in leveling the skill.

You lose more from not having access to high level arenas.

Why don’t you want bonus experience?

(IMG:[i.imgur.com] https://i.imgur.com/1AywmRA.png)
Please take a nap seat. This is gonna take a little while.

The enemy's level is always based on your level. If you're level 69, the enemies will also be level 69.

At the same time, as your character levels up, you unlock new skills and abilities, which make your character stronger.
One obvious example is when you unlock Tier 1 Spells and can suddenly hit four enemies at once, your “power level” increases dramatically. It feels like you're way stronger than before.

But if that were the only change, the game would become unbalanced. So to keep things fair, enemies also get stronger to match whatever new abilities you unlock. That’s how the game stays balanced.

In theory, your power and the enemies’ power should always stay about the same, no matter how much you level up. Otherwise, the game would either become too easy or too hard—both of which are bad outcomes.

But in my experience, I feel like the game actually gets harder the more I level up.
When I went from level 133 to level 233, the enemies started feeling stronger than before. They hit harder and take more damage before going down.
Back at level 133, I could get to the 130th round of Nightmare Grindfest before it felt hard. Now at level 233, I’m struggling by round 30 in the same mode.

Hypothesis: The more EXP and levels you gain, the harder the game becomes.
(I’m not sure if this is true—I still don’t fully understand many of the game mechanics.)

===============================================
Assuming the hypothesis is correct
===============================================

(IMG:[i.imgur.com] https://i.imgur.com/cPJxDu2.png)
EXP bonuses are actually a trap. They don’t make you stronger—they make you weaker, because they make the game harder.
What players really need is Credits, not EXP. With Credits, you can upgrade weapons and improve your character in meaningful ways. Once you're stronger, you can choose to play on harder difficulties without needing EXP bonuses like the "Adept Learner" from Training.
Choosing difficulty = flexible, you can change it anytime.
Adept Learner's effect = permanent and can’t be undone.
If you want to understand why EXP bonuses are a trap and why Credits are more valuable, let’s look at two scenarios:
________________________________________
Scenario A:
You start a new character, and in your first battle, you instantly get infinite EXP and jump to level 500—but only get 100 Credits.
Now you're level 500 with a ton of stat and ability points, but no gear. Can your naked lv500 character handle level 500 enemies?
________________________________________
Scenario B:
You start a new character, and in your first battle, you get infinite Credits but barely any EXP. (zero exp bonus)
Now you’re still level 1, but you can buy all the best upgrades and gear. If you then set the difficulty to PFUDOR, I think you’d still be able to survive.

So that’s just some wild guessing from a level 230 newbie.
Whether my hypothesis is right or wrong

Edit: Unfortunately for the adventurous, the game itself provides little to no information on the many intricacies, interwoven mechanics, and pitfalls which await the potential "risk-taker". May I suggest taking a little peak or two at what the corresponding Wikipedia has to offer? Otherwise, my unedited message stands. Have fun!

You want to figure it out on your own, yet you continue to participate in a topic made to help others figure it out and ask others not to "spoil". Makes perfect sense (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif)

Your answer is no. Don't want to be "spoiled" - don't read forums, especially dedicated ones.

(Good observation)

(IMG:[i.imgur.com] https://i.imgur.com/jx5OZ7f.png)
I actually skip all posts, except the ones that seem to be replying to me.

I usually ask either very simple questions or things that are just too confusing for me to figure out on my own.
(I’ve already gotten stuck in a mental loop and can’t think it through myself.)
(Some information is simply impossible to discover even after finishing the whole game—this is a blind spot for players.)

QUOTE(Benny-boy @ Jun 18 2025, 19:31) *
You want your questions answered but you're afraid of spoilers—so why ask?

The things I ask about are pretty hard to spoil.
For example, I asked whether the effects of 'Training' can be turned off.
I’ve already checked every part of the settings menu—every obvious place—and couldn’t find anything.
Also, I have a huge EXP bonus that I can’t reverse.
Every time I fight, this effect kicks in, so I had no choice but to ask.

However, earlier, I wasn’t asking, I was answering. I came here to ask questions, but someone ended up asking me something, so I had no choice but to share what I thought.

Previously, I requested assistance in clarifying the explanations of Soulfusing on EHwiki. Some of the descriptions confused me a lot.
I wasn't even sure if I would ever have the resources to test the answer myself—I’d need a ton of soul fragments and very specific equipments to run A LOT of experiments to get a clear answer.
That’s why I had to ask others to clarify.

good for you, you should indeed choose your own path. In life, as in HV.

Please note that this thread is called 'ask the experts'. Some regard me as one of those experts (although I don't pretend to know everything about HV). But that's not the point.

Can I ask you not to use this thread for theorycrafting or sharing your personal strategies? As this is the ask-the-expert thread, new players may think that it's expert's advice. You can use the "Hentaiverse Chat" to share your personal strategy.

My expert advice, for new players reading this, is: having fun in the game is most important. Personally I prioritized leveling up, as higher level gives access to better gear and the style that I wanted to play: mage. Also, playing on high difficulty increases the chance of better drops and generally more credit income - so if you don't have seas of time available, it may be a more efficient strategy to play at higher difficulty.

Is there some strat for leveling quickly in hentai verse... I am only level 72 after grinding probably over 50 hours over the last few years. Am I missing something quite simple? [I also once reached 400+ out of 1000 in grindfest] I mainly have just been grinding credits...

there is, actually. HIgher difficulty = more EXP (and better drops, and more credits). Did you know you can play on Hell difficulty without any gear? Playing on Normal is a waste of time imho.

Play as many Random Enounters as you can. Play at the highest difficulty that you can manage.
Only exeption could be: first time you do a new arena - first clear. For that I usually lower my diff 1 level, to make sure I can finish it. Because, often that unlocks the next arena. But if you haven't cleared the previous arena at least once, the new arena stays locked even if you did reach the required level.

For playing at high difficulty (IWBTH), you would need some defensive gear. Also you would need defensive spells like slow or blind or silence or (best options but not available at start of HV) weaken & sleep

What is the chance to drop peerless in shrine? Wiki says there is the same chance to drop peerless regardless of the quality of the offering. Let's say, hypthetically, I bought 2 million credits worth of holy hand grenades of Antioch, that would be about 2380 pieces. If I turned off combining trophies and I shrined all of these, would that give me an expected value when it comes to the number of dropped peerless pieces of equipment above 1?

I don't think the chance is the same to all quality.
and no, you excepted to have far less than 1 Peerless with 2m worth trophies, far even less than 0.1, but for detail data I think we have too few data to say, even for FoSers
