How does 1H Heavy properly use Orbital Friendship Cannon? I rarely use it in IW and non-Schoolgirl arenas (aside from the last round) because it drains your OC, and to refill it, you must either turn off Spirit Stance (which slows you down) or just refill OC with SS on (which makes getting enough OC to use OFC take a long time). I also think it's inferior to Vital Strike in Schoolgirl arenas because for me at least, it leaves Schoolgirls with 38%-55% HP, and since you still have to attack them to kill them, you might as well just leave them alive, hit them normally (along with using VS on 1 or 2 of them), and let counter-attacks kill the regular enemies. I don't have Manehattan Project if that matters because it's way too expensive (and I mostly use Fire Mage now).

You need high enough block chance. It should be 60+ around your level You can gain a lot of Siprit Point via counter-attack. If you only use your OFC at about max SP, you will never quit Spirit Stance. Also, the number of enemies should be 5+ In my experience, using Vital strike is faster than OFC on SG arena I agree that Manehattan Project doesn't worth, too expensive

QUOTE(beenict @ Mar 25 2025, 15:13) im at 49.3% block right now what should i aim for?
As high as possible since it also effects you damage. You want legendary force (you can settle for buckler of barrier), ideally without agility (SDE), at least 50% legendary range block, if force then force of protection is the best but idk how important it will be because 1H gets very tanky relatively quickly. QUOTE(beenict @ Mar 25 2025, 15:13) this orbital thing how good is it ?
It's great against crowds. QUOTE(beenict @ Mar 25 2025, 15:13) WELL i just went bankrupt buying 21 figures i HOPE it is worth it.
You should check it even if you don't like for some reason. Worst case scenario you can sell it back through market without substantial losses, but I think the only reason to not use it is personal preference.

QUOTE(Noni @ Mar 25 2025, 12:33) it's a good weapon for the level, but not good enough to soulfuse. Try to find a slaughter weapon, rapier or shortsword

If you want to be a mage in the future, nothing but mage equipments are worth soulfuse. Even if you don't want to become a mage, you should at least soulfuse legendary quality with high attributes. QUOTE(Noni @ Mar 21 2025, 07:24) depends on what you want, basically. If you want to try another style, your level is high enough to try mage. Also 80m is more than enough to get a good set of mage gear. That will be much faster than your current set, but it takes some time to collect gear and build up proficiency.
your gear is pretty decent, mind you. Nothing wrong with magnificent gear. If you want to play 1h then it will always take a lot of time to clear the SG arena's. But you can improve by getting better gear.
I've decided to upgrade my 1h gear and spend my money on maxing my drop training for now, as it's hard to find gear at my lvl and I'll have about 50m left after everything. If I want to upgrade my current gear, what should I focus on? I'm guessing a better shield that's worth upgrading to improve my block chance to 60%

weapon and shield. a good shield will cost you, i got this one for ~750k and had to soulfuse it because it was lvl500: Legendary Amber Force Shield of Deflectionthe most important thing is the block roll, after that it's better if the PABs are str+dex+end (missing agi). prefix: unimportant suffix: protection > warding > everything else, but since the mitigation stats on a shield are so low, even getting protection will be barely noticeable. the weapon can be either expensive or very cheap. if you go with rapier getting a top one will cost you in the millions. i decided to go with a shortsword and got this one for 50k: Legendary Hallowed Shortsword of Slaughterif you use imperil a shortsword is just as good as a rapier.

Drop trainings take a long time to pay back the investment, especially the later levels which are very expensive. For weapon go for rapier or shortsword with slaughter suffix, element doesn't make a big difference. High adb is the priority here. Force shield with high block is the best option and SDE attributes are the most useful ones. Power of slaughter for armors, savage prefix helps but tends to increase the price quite a bit especially if adb is high. First priority should be your shield and forging it, then getting a weapon and forging adb and parry. Since you have 50m or so I'd highly recommend getting at least the first level of daemon duality as well if you don't have it already.

But be warned: 2h is the worst style in the game, it just lacks defense and not nearly enough offensive power to make up for it. You should really consider switching to Dual Wield or 1h + shield.

you need to have 2h prof. but as i had 19.9% before, i'm still having 19.9% after i took the skill. by this formula, i was supposed to get 26*0.25%=+6.5%, but i didn't. if i reset this "2H parry", parry stat also doesn't change QUOTE But be warned: 2h is the worst style in the game, it just lacks defense and not nearly enough offensive power to make up for it. well 1h has great AOE, they die from trying to attack you and get countered. And Dual Wield has Frenzied Blows - that's 6 dead in one blow.

No. When you start out soul fragments accumulate very slowly so you want to make sure you're soulfusing really good equipment. To put it in perspective soulfusing the same or lower level magnificent and legendary equipment costs 500 shards. That's 500k (450k with ~2,5m credits hath perk) if buying them directly or 100+ random encounters over ~9 days (capped 60 shards per day). If it's 100 levels above your level it's 10 shards per level = 1500 shards, triple the price. The only possible exception is near perfect magnificent gear (very rare) and even then the only upside is cheaper upgrade price. QUOTE(IvanGo @ Mar 26 2025, 20:09) but as i had 19.9% before, i'm still having 19.9% after i took the skill.

Full completion doesn't really give you any significant rewards but first few rounds have less monsters and amount of crystals gained increases as you progress further. If you have no more arenas to clear you can spend some stamina in IW or grindfest.

Should I avoid Ethereal/Hollowforged main-hand if I am using a rapier off-hand for the armour penetration?

the opposite, void damage is good. you are confusing physical mitigation with specific mitigations. even if you change your damage type from piercing/slashing/crushing to void, it's still a physical attack and it's affected by phys mitigation. penetrated armor reduces generic physical mitigation. specific mitigations will reduce the damage further. they are multiplicative with each other. if you deal 1000 damage with a rapier, a monster with 50% physical mitigation and 25% piercing mitigation will take: 1000 * (1 - 0.5) * (1 - 0.25) = 375 damage ethereal or hollowforged weapons have their damage changed to void, against which there is no specific resistance, so in the previous example the monster would take: 1000 * (1 - 0.5) * (1 - 0) = 500 damage now, some monsters actually have a weakness against some damage types, so in some cases you will deal less damage by converting your damage type to void. in the case of piercing there are 4 monster types with 25% resistance, and 4 monster types with a 25% weakness, so it's basically a wash. but it's not a wash against schoolgirls, since two of them have 50% piercing res, one of them 25% res and the other one 0%. converting to void will greatly increase your damage against them. also it gives void strike as an added bonus which will add ~50% extra damage (non crit) to your basic attacks. Path of Exile brain. Was not thinking that physical mitigation could be translated as "melee mitigation" rather than pure physical resistance reduction. Thank you for the explanation! This post has been edited by Ramaki: Mar 27 2025, 21:23
