Mosters come in batches of same kind. If you only do the strong/tanky ones, then your monsters won't be in every round.

Spawning Pattern

Monsters of the same class (species) will tend to appear together. It is not possible to face more than 4 different classes of monsters in a single round.

The change was made in 0.76, over a decade ago. Makes me feel old.

- Monsters of a class now flock together. You will never face more than four different classes in the same battle. (This does mean that less popular classes get more airtime.)
