QUOTE(bensalenkkari) Infusions are one of the cheaper ways to increase damage as mage. With worse gear the infusion will give you slightly bigger % increase, with stronger gear it will still be around 5%, and at that point couple hundred credits for infusion probably won't mean anything to you anyway. I'll use my setup as an example: 352.6% dark bonus, with infusion that's 377.6%. 477.6/452.6 is roughly 1.055, meaning about 5.5% damage increase. That's more than another level of DD would be. What is the loss to clear speed from the action of drinking infusions themselves? Maybe 0.5% to 1%? (It would base at 2% since you'd drink infusion every 50 ticks, then you've also got Haste, Cast Speed, and Cast Time with Prof factor improvement to consider. As well as turns spent to cast debuffs, though I think this would drop the loss to clear speed from the action of drinking infusions only a tiny bit, and would drop the "effective" damage benefit of the infusion more.) QUOTE(Nezu) Spirit Shield caps damage taken to 20% (rounded down) - if your health ends in 1 or 6, the rounding down part means you'll end up with 1 HP if you take 5 separate hits in a row. Then, if your HP is exactly 1 and you get hit again, it won't trigger Spark of Life - you just die.
In high levels of Tower, it can be common to take 5 hits that meet the Spirit Shield threshold at the same time, leading to sudden unexpected deaths.
Having your total HP end in any other number averts this problem entirely. That's what I figured the logic had been, so thanks for explaining it again. For you to die from the 5 hits theory, you'd have to be at full HP to start a turn then take 5 special attacks at the cap without suffering a normal hit. I wonder if we can roughly calculate what the typical probability of death is from the pure 5 hits theory, versus the probability of 1 HP death from any other scenario? Another thing to wonder: presuming your total HP does not end in 1 or 6, does the 20% Spirit Shield cap actually benefit you by making it less likely that you would die from the 1 HP phenomena, than would be the case if left to pure randomness?

It's not generally likely to happen by sheer chance - the chances of you landing on exactly 1 and not either above or below are basically 1 out of however wide the damage range is - might be a couple thousand for an endgame player. But, when I was grinding Tower back in season 1, the damage eventually rose high enough that every hit taken was enough to trigger my spirit shield. In that case, it's almost guaranteed to happen - which is also likely the case in grindfest for lower gear players, so in reality, a lot of people have probably experienced this problem even if they didn't notice exactly why it happened at the time. edit: re: your second question, you'll die either way at that damage level This post has been edited by Nezu: Dec 13 2024, 01:04

QUOTE(Malenk @ Dec 13 2024, 09:10) Hover mouse over statin your equipment window. Cobalt ADB base: 20,89; Savage ADB base: 19,69. No, savage prefix doesn't make up for low roll. Base damage is lower, but unfused damage is higher, because it's level is higher.

QUOTE(Malenk @ Dec 13 2024, 18:10) Legendary Savage Power Armor of ProtectionLegendary Cobalt Power Armor of Protectionwhich one do you think is better? i wanted to soulfuse the cobalt to keep up but then i found the savage one recently. does the savage mod make up for the lower ADB? If you are not planning on soulfusing, just by comparing actual stats, I would go with the savage: ADB is the same but it wins on ACD (5% vs. 1,5%) and STR (98 vs. 89). Also, I think I am stupid. I just sent this Legendary Amber Power Boots of Protection into auction and it has forged 5. If I would salvage it instead, I could get back the Reporpused Actuators right? Even you soulfuse, the difference would not be that much between the 2. At my level -406- the Cobalt gets +30 more atk damages, versus +3.5 crit damage - I cannot say if it compensates) I say: don't soulfuse, use the savage which is almost at your level (so no need to soulfuse for at least 20 more levels) until you get (Buy) one "of slaughter" to soulfuse. I'm not sure *where* to fight. I run through the Arena fights each day, but after that, I'm lost. Should I be doing Item Worlds even though I'm still leveling? I haven't done any so far, as I'm replacing equipment every so often. Grindfest and Ring of Blood doesn't seem like a good use of time/stamina (but what do I know). Just wondering what an expert's "daily routine" looks like. Thank you!

RE (random encounter): most Cost-effectiveness arena: second Cost-effectiveness RE and arena are daily routine after arena, most players have consumed 24 stamina already, unless your're at low level Then, you can try IW high quality gear or GF.

And to add to previous answer: In Ring of blood (after taking the clear bonuses from other levels), continue clearing only the Flying Spaghetti Monster (lvl 200) and then sell the trophie (noodle) into the market.

I'd suggest you look at the time you want to spend on HV. If you have time left after all Arena's + a lot of RE's, then you are probaby playing at too low difficulty. Never play on Normal, that's pure waste of time in my opinion. At level 199 you should be able to play Nintendo or IWBTH, but even with crap gear it should be at least Hell. Playing at high difficulty does take more time. But also give a lot better equipment drops, a lot more credits per round, and a lot more EXP. Learn how to use defensive spells: weaken, silence, blind, slow, sleep. Start every round with sleep, and use one of the defensive spells where you can. And then, if you have time left, IW your gear - also on high difficulty. That's my expert answer: don't play more battles, play the battles better.

Thanks, everyone. I'm playing on Hell difficulty now (but could probably bump it up). I've also just started trying out Isekai mode -- a whole second set of stamina! Can't believe I never tried it before.

thank everyone for the advice on the armor, i will use the savage (without soulfusing) and send the other one for the next auction (i believe i bought it, it should get something since it's low level).

Try to check your stamina if is red, you may have a stamina penalty.

QUOTE(Boostedape @ Dec 11 2024, 19:25) The riddle master is almost driving me crazy I always have trouble recognizing which pony is in the picture because the quality of the picture sucked. As a result, my stamina penalty keeps getting worse. I just finished a 85 round arena and it cost me 17 stamina! (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/sad.gif) Can someone give me some advice? (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/cry.gif) forget the chart, just remember a few details that will be almost always discernible. also forget about telling them apart from their tramp stamps. twilight sparkle and rainbow dash are easy since you will notice the rainbow color spectrum dark and straight cut = twilight sparkle (she also has the horn), lighter = rainbow dash. if they blend almost completely with the background look for the cowboy hat, hat = applejack, no hat = fluttershy. rarity is easy for the mane that looks like ribbons, also she is the only other with the horn (the other being twilight sparkle) pinkie pie is easy to tell apart from her mane as well. if the image is too messy and you can't recognize one, just tick the one you are sure of, it's better to miss one than to get one wrong.

New player, just got to level 100, playing only on Hell because I have crap gear. Balanced stats, leather armor, Niten Ichiryu. I have a few questions:
1. Just in general, is there anything I should definitely change up? Like weapon/armor choice. (One reason I ask is because Noni recommended using Sleep, but Sleep is debuffed for me because katana hits multiple enemies at once, waking up the sleeping person...) 2. Right now I am only doing random encounters because Arena on Hell takes more time than I am willing to spend per day, and on the higher level Arenas I inevitably die anyway. Is it worth dropping the difficulty down to Normal to daily clear the Arenas for the 1000 credits, or should I not bother because I will eventually level up and get better credit income anyway?
