I'm still just grinding like usual, currently focused on trying to build the best weapon and shield I can, but I'm having a hard time telling if when a sword or shield I find is "good." What should I be looking for? What's the best potencies to try to get on a shield and sword for a typical 1H + Shield build?

shield: block% is all that matters. Force shield generally have the highest block, but look at the stat when comparing shields. Don't IW your shield. Just forge the block

Weapon: ADB and parry are important. Chose a weapon with parry and then the highest ADB that you can find. IW the weapon to 10, don't mind the ponencies at your level. Anything works. And forge the ADB and parry (at least)

Negative isekai starting exp? I mean it isn't significant but what's going on here? (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

Edit: I just realized that what if it is the script displaying it incorrectly, but I already leveled up so can't test lol

ethereal is not needed, the rapier is fine but low adb. If you don't think you'll get anything better any time soon you can upgrade it. You can always salvage it and get 90% of the materials back, i don't think this rapier would be worth much anyway. Make sure to get it to IW10

that is a pretty good weapon. Ethereal is overrated, especially for 1h heavy. It is only needed for 2h play.

Do you want perfection? Get a Peerless Arctic Rapier of Slaughter. Do you want to play the game comfortable? Use your legendary rapier. ...But don't I want an Ethereal? No, because elemental is better for 1h heavy. Trust me, or do the maths yourself. It's the burden that helps the block.

Personally I think it is just for the extra credits.

I got to lvl 292 with a bit over a month of play (and mind you I am still fairly new so I'm spent a lot of time just on learning and adapting), gathered over 2.4M credits (I shrined all my trophies - almost 800k worth), got a couple of Legendary drops - one of which I soulfused with the free soul frags from clearing the Tower, got to floor 30 so now I have the permanent +1 to all stats along with the damage bonus.

With 6 months of play I think you could have easily finish with 10M+, many legendaries, more permanent stat bonus, and higher temp damage bonus.

Even if you do it casually, just get to 250 and do the two school arenas whenever you feel like it and sell all the trophies. To me its not that big a time investment. For me those two arenas was like ~25min/day.

not true, not at your level. You can use imperil with shortsword, and it will perform equal or better than rapier. Axe misses parry and that is whole other story. Axe can work with extremely good gear, where you don't miss the extra damage from counter with parry, nor the extra defense for parry. But in most cases rapier and shortsword will outperform axe by a long way.

rapier. Is good for lazy people. Who dont want use imperil.

Should I attempt the tower whenever possible (since I don't get extra attempts by skipping a day, might as well, right?) or grind first to get closer to the monster levels? Right now they're a lot higher than I am and I only managed to clear by the skin of my teeth.
