And i still see way too many shadowcats or memories. (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/sad.gif) Does that make memories of shadowcats? (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/unsure.gif)

Maybe uncle should make peerless monsters too and level up to PL 2250 so we can meet more of your monsters... (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/duck.gif)

QUOTE(Scremaz @ Mar 14 2018, 01:59) now the number of classes is limited to 3
Since i've paid close attention to which monster classes i fight recently i can claim with absolute certainty that number of classes isn't limited to 3 , at least when number of monsters is greater than 6.[EDIT] Just got 4 monsters and all 4 have different classes. I've been thinking about switching to mage, and I have a few questions that the wiki doesn't quite answer. What are the advantages and disadvantages of the different elements? How do they differ in playstyle? What stats should I be prioritizing when looking for gear? Does it matter which pieces are cloth and which are phase? If it helps, my budget is 10m, and my initial goal will be to beat all arenas on PFUDOR. I already have some holy gear, but nothing spectacular. I can clear the early arenas on at least Hell with it. Staff Cap Robe Gloves Pants Shoes. I understand it's not at all an ideal set, these are all self-drops. I haven't bought any cloth/phase at all yet.

But at your budget, I'd go with elemetal, not holy or dark. Because it's cheaper to get going. You'll be needing imperil, so if you can't use that yet practice your deprecating magic now. Step 1. Find a matching staff, within budget (that means below 50% MDB and EDB). Spend most of your budget on that staff. Step 2. Find proficiency shoes, or gloves (cotton of the elementalist) Don't go for charged, you can't afford that Step 3. Get phases matching your staff. Not charged, not radiant, you can't afford that. Step 4. Play and have fun - start at max difficulty that you can manager without constant spark of life or cure Step 5. Forge, forge, forge your gear, slowly towards the end - halfway you'll be able to play pfudor

I'm a noob who want to try mage style, i have the staffs (maybe a bit decent one), but for cloth, i have to go with full cotton first or full phase or combination?

step 0a. with the current prof system, i doubt anyone playing for more than two days at his level cannot use imperil (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/heh.gif) step 5a. i'd say to forge only staff and cotton, especially if you're tight on budget. and stop when you reach HG cloth threshold for the same reason QUOTE(igs88 @ Mar 14 2018, 11:10) I'm a noob who want to try mage style, i have the staffs (maybe a bit decent one), but for cloth, i have to go with full cotton first or full phase or combination?
whatever allows you to reach 0.65~0.7 prof factor. feel free to use my prof calculator to speed up math. ideally you can aim for gloves or shoes, but it has been proven that with prof perk and some decent forging on staff you can even go for full phase

(IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/unsure.gif) PLAIGERIZED!! THANKS UNCLE!!! Edit: (I plagiarized it for my monster # 198 by the way.... tick tock... tick tock...) It may be a Level thing. I have no clue. I do know that the monsters I'm seeing are grouped in classes of 2 or 3 consistently.QUOTE(Scremaz @ Mar 13 2018, 16:59) mechanic have been a bit tweaked since then, but it's still surprisingly actual. now the number of classes is limited to 3 (so that "less than 4" is still true technically (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif) ), max one mob per trainer and the same mob cannot appear for at least ten rounds. Thanks guys! That clears it up. I think I probably misread it back then as a noob. I assume the mob "down the line, 1 each" still works with the ten round part. Heh.... A little too late to change now. (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) This post has been edited by RoadShoe: Mar 14 2018, 14:51

Anyone knows what influences amount of overcharge generated? (i'm especially interested in attack speed, since i have to sync oc gen to either debuff or CD time.) QUOTE(Scremaz @ Mar 14 2018, 11:49) well, there were infos directly from admin afaik
Well, if i could find this somewhere in patch notes, then i'd probably reported this as a bug, since its fairly common for monsters from 4 different classes to appear in one round. One of RoadShoes screens has an example. Last time flocking was mentioned in patch notes (that i could find, that is) is superold 0.76, when it was first introduced (it says 4 classes btw). Its probably too old to be reliable. The same line in notes also contains this: "(This does mean that less popular classes get more airtime.)". I haven't found anything about this in patchnotes for later versions too. Maybe this effect is still there, its just much less prominent than sheer monster number difference.

I think I'll go with wind, since I already have this beauty. I imperil on SG during as a 1H user, so my dep prof is already good enough (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif) QUOTE(Scremaz @ Mar 14 2018, 05:21) step 0a. with the current prof system, i doubt anyone playing for more than two days at his level cannot use imperil (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/heh.gif) step 5a. i'd say to forge only staff and cotton, especially if you're tight on budget. and stop when you reach HG cloth threshold for the same reason whatever allows you to reach 0.65~0.7 prof factor. feel free to use my prof calculator to speed up math. ideally you can aim for gloves or shoes, but it has been proven that with prof perk and some decent forging on staff you can even go for full phase Makes sense. Phazon and HGC are very expensive for a poor player like me. Thanks for the help guys. (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Is it a good idea to build a Holy mage gear for PFFest, comparing with Wind/Elec mage?

In case you are within the top 25 of daily H@H toplist, then why not? You don't have to play imperil, and it works very nicely. Should you have not unlimited funds, then wind/elec will do just as well, only you need to play imperil (at least until you get extremely strong). So it depends on the depth of your wallet.
