Came back to the game after several years and realized too late I should've been selecting multiple ponies per riddle. I second this - the pony mini game is the absolute worst aspect of the entire game, most times it's just a blob of overlapping stuff with an eye in the middle or a leg sticking out, as if we're not meant to be able to get it right. Needless to say I've been in the red since day one of coming back.

Absolutely love the game, but ponies are just taking the fun out of it.

It took about 5 days of playing for me. I was told you just have to get it right a bunch of times to work the counter backward.

Only block, that's one of reasons why 1H players usually don't use light armor.

Incorrect. Parry also triggers counterattack. It's evade that doesn't, which is why 1H players tend to avoid light armor. It's also why axe isn't the best weapon: losing parry loses counterattacks.

I bought the Spirit Theft ability then put it in it's special slot, but I haven't seen it work once. I only ever proc Vital Theft from casting Drain. Is there a step I'm not doing?

Also, I see people asking for Stars in the WTB section. According to the Wiki you can only get them from donating, and they aren't tradeable. What am I missing?

Spirit Theft requires Ripened Soul - i.e. dark spells

Augment the Drain spell with the ability to inflict Spirit Theft on any target afflicted with Ripened Soul

Some people are willing to donate BTC on your behalf, if you pay them like 120-130m credits or so. That's what's meant on the forum. If you're interested, I can explain in more detail how that works.

Spirit Shield: Any attack that hits for more than 20% of max HP will cause the player to lose exactly 20% of their health, with the remainder absorbed as damage to their spirit

So, you get hit hard: takes 50% or your total life in one blow. Then you don't lose 50% of your health, because of spirit shield. You lose only 20%. And your spirit bar goes down, with the rest of the damage.

Spark of life: If you get hit beyond 0% health, you are supposed to die. Spark of life then kicks in, and keeps your health at 1% and gives you the cloak of the fallen which saves you from next attacks. So you live to fight on! don't forget to heal though.

You may need to increase your stop-on-low-SP threshold in monsterbation from the default. I have mine set to .35 for example.
There is also a bug that can cause Spark of Life not to work if your max health ends in 1 or 6, so add/remove some endurance if that's the case.

Common for low levels before filling out the ability points for Spirit Shield, yeah, it gets better though
