spend like there's not tomorrow, that's my advice. The longer you play, the easier it gets to get credits. It may be wise to think ahead a week or so: do you need credits for soulfusing? Then save for that.

Is Shadow Veil worthwhile as a Heavy?
Basically, does it add a flat 15% Evade on top of my existing 0%, or does it add to a potentially negative % Evade?

Short answer : NO (unless you are so weak to die a lot, in wich case it's probably better to play on lower difficulty rather then use it and risk to die anyway).

Shadow Veil is exempt from burden if I remember correctly (not actually evade - adds miss chance).

Doesn't affect 1H counter rate too badly, so it can be worth using if you're struggling... I'd choose it over going to a lower difficulty, but that's just me.

As Noni says, only faster. And I would suggest you to forget about it until you are much higher in level and with better income.

Because it is increasingly costly very fast, the benefit is minimum, and especially at lower level the rate of gain is fast enough (provided you choose one style and stick with it long enough) that you don't have to worry much about proficiency (you have enough of more important things to look for (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) )

EDIT : to put some reference number behind it, I am at level 448 as you can see and have Assimilator at 6.

Getting the 7th Assim. level (out of 25) would cost me 545633 credits. Not really much for me (now), but still too much imho for going from a 160% to a 170% rate of gain (i.e. from x1.6 to x1.7 with respect to normal increase rate). And each level is exponentially more costly then the previous one.
Using the same credits to forge weapons and armors or get needed perks is surely better (unless you already have enough of all those).

Have two monster in monster lab lvl 71 and lvl 49. They’ve only brought me gifts once in the past two weeks. Do they no longer bring anymore for a long time? Is there something I may be doing wrong that prevents them from getting more gifts?

they should bring you gift(s) every 3 days. What could be happening:
- you did get the gifts but you just missed (or blocked) the pop-up
- you starved them (red hunger), so that they can't bring gifts anymore
- you are using a script that fails to capture the gifts, but you do get them (known bug in HV Utils, can sometimes be fixed by using First Letter Capitals in your monster names)

Thanks for the reply. Could you elaborate on the first point? I make sure to keep their hunger full once per day and not running any scripts so shouldn’t be those. I got the pop up saying a got a gift a while ago but since then it hasn’t shown up.

Elaborate? Some browsers have a feature that's called 'pop-up blocker'. And when a site tries to show you a pop-up, then it's blocked by the browser. Sometimes you get a message "Pop-up blocked" , or "click here to allow pop-ups for this site". But really you should google pop-ups for your particular browser.

I guess I worded it baldly. I know what pop ups and pop up blockers are, nevertheless I really do appreciate you explaining it to me. Meant that I got the pop up before and I made no changes to my browser. But even in the past, after an initial pop up saying I got it, I wouldn’t get it again for a long time. So I hopes you would know if there were other reasons why. But I guess I should look into my browser settings more. Thanks for the help.

Upgrading equipment upgrades the base stat, so the effect of the upgrade level up with the equipment. If you're going to upgrade, you may as well do it now.

Every mage needs the same bindings for magic damage, INT, WIS, AGI, so they're expensive. All mages also need spell damage and proficiency bindings, but not all mages need the same bindings (3 different proficiencies, 6 different spell damage types). All bindings are gifted with the same probability, so the ones that everyone needs end up being more expensive. They're also the most desirable stats to forge. Most people only forge a few key stats, so specific mitigation bindings, magic accuracy, and other not-so-useful bindings are dirt cheap.
