So I still dunnow about the staff. ethetap scaling with soulbound or no. I gotta soulbound my pants and my staff But I dunno For the staff even, If its focus bonus is godo quality is good, and it got penetrator 3 and spellcaster 5.

Ether tap chance doesn't scale with equipment level, so no, it won't be affected by soulbinding.

The Focus suffix is alright for beginners.

Is there a reason to Flee rather than fight to the death?
The way I see it, if somebody's monster takes me out, that guy gets a Binding. But is there a downside for me?

The downside is that your equip gets damaged, and you have to repair it more frequently if you die. Which isn't much (a few scrap materials). And a wounded ego, that you cannot repair. (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)

Fleeing counts as a win for the monsters, which is the part that affects gift chance - not killing blows specifically. The player's choice to flee would mostly be to avoid durability loss.

yes, until 200%. Above 200% it does nothing.

At High level difficulty I stopped gainning cloth and staff proeffiencies.... I wanted to reach the 300 but it seem I am stcuked at 250. Is there a way to fix this or trick the game?

they just increase very slowly. when you level up you should see the change, but generally since your level is low, your prof should not be very high.

I got a very lucky drop in the form of Superior Phase Gloves (of something) which is level locked to Level 68.
Can it still be Soulfused? If so, will the equipment immediately jump to my current level and follow my level as I level up?

Everyone seems to say that fire/cold is cheaper to build, but what advantage does elec/wind have over fire/cold to make it not cheap?
Still saving up for a mage set eventually but I haven't really read anything that tells me the difference between those elements.

yes you can soulfuse any equipment that's lower than your current level and it will then be scaled to your level and level-up together with you. However! Don't soulfuse any superior items. Not worth it! That superior phase is complete trash, you can use it as long as you don't have any other item for hands. At your level, try out several play styles, and work towards a solid melee build so you can play on higher difficulty. Higher difficulty gives so much more benefits!

Willow staff is extremely good, as it has counter-resist stat. And willow has high ranges for Wind and Elec damage, and lower ranges for Cold and Fire damage. Still, cold and fire will work well, also with willow, just not as well as elec / wind.

How do I make red Stamina go away? I figured I just had to either wait it out or do lots of Riddlemasters correctly, but it's been several days now and I'm still suffering.

just keep playing and keep getting them right. All of them. Then your average goes up again and in time your penalty is removed. Can take some time though. We don't know how much. .

This thread discusses the difference between mage elements: it's mostly related to our possible equipment choices.

I'd actually like clarification from some current fire/cold mages about how willow compares to redwood for them in DWD, PGC and SPL these days. I wrote that post before the arena changes & may have left some erroneous advice in about redwood vs willow for arenas.

As cold mage, I used curse-weaver shoes with my willow staff against everything other than SG arenas and RoB, where I used redwood with elementalist shoes, taking advantage of the extra prof from redwood. So unfortunately I don't have a direct comparison. I know lololo16 has both fiery willow and redwood.

I much prefer willow in isekai due to being squishy enough that the improvement in landing imperil really helps reduce heals, as well as being significantly better in non-SG arenas. When I was a beginner cold mage, I started with redwood and played 1h mage for content I was too squishy for. I think it may be better to start with willow and use scrolls/reduce difficulty for harder content.
