okay, here the thing, I play as One-Handed, but for a while I just want to take it easy and play on Normal and finish all the Arena as fast as possible
does anyone knows which would be more efficient, Mace of Balance or Katana of Balance + Wakizashi of Balance?
all I know is that Mace can stun multiple enemies thanks to Domino Strikes
but since on Normal you're pretty much invincible with high level gear
I was wondering if Niten wouldn't do more damage and be more efficient to kill everything as fast as possible
though I guess ideal would be doing it at Hell for the chance of getting a Legendary

At Hell and below at your level (or higher), fastest arenas are done with Mage style. At Hell and below you don't even need to forge or have great pieces; a reasonable staff with IW10 and forged to 5 to 10 with normal (matched to elem.) Leg. phase armor pieces (not charged or radiant) are quite enough.

If you want to remain Melee, the fastest at low diff. for normal arenas is probably DW with Shade.
For Schoolgirl arenas however, all melee styles suffer a bit; but DW+shade is still superior to Niten imho, even if not by much. Depending on your equip., also 1H+Slaughter can be as fast, eventually even a bit faster, but you need very good equip and forge, and use the skill efficiently.

In the end, except for Mages, the difference between the various melee style isn't that big in term of speed; more in term of safeness and easyness of play.

I wouldn't use a Mace of Balance in any case, though (unless is an Ethereal with good stats, and I don't have an Etheral Mace of Slaughter).

I don't know much about 2H style, but both 2H and niten needs light armor rather than heavy armor.
And if you need some equipment, I may have one or two Leg and some Mag pieces spare which I can lend to you or sell you at resonable price. (Can't really make a full build, and some sucks but still something handy if you need)

Legendary Shocking Mace of Balance (Lv.353)

Legendary Ethereal Katana of Slaughter (Lv.429)

Magnificent Amber Shade Gauntlets of Negation (Lv.367)

Magnificent Shade Leggings of the Shadowdancer (Lv.312)
Magnificent Shade Leggings of the Fleet (Lv.279)

Magnificent Shade Boots of Negation (Lv.294)

Remember that, when you change style, your proficiency for the new style will be much lower at first; it will be very difficult at first to finish any arenas, the longer ones even at Normal. You will have to play enough to increase your proficiency until it reaches near your level before the play become easy again (and dont forget to slot the right abilities for the new style, or use a different Persona).

Good luck (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

I think its good you respond fast to the questions. There's been a few times where I've given incorrect answers. Plus I'm out of touch with melee styles.

What are cores for? I mean I am getting them from salvaging useless legendary items and then selling on the market but I don't know if I am doing the right thing and should stockpile instead. There is nothing about them on the wiki outside that you get them from salvaging legendary+ items. I assume they are needed for high level upgrades?

When the new version of Hentaiverse will roll out, they will be used to upgrade weapons and armors, eventually even to transform good Legendaies to Peerlesses ... that's what Tenboro told us. We will know for sure and how it will work only then.

This wording seems a little ambiguous to me, so I'd like to clarify that legendary cores will only be used to improve legendary items until they become peerless. That is to say, they won't work on magnificent or below.

though I guess ideal would be doing it at Hell for the chance of getting a Legendary

my 2ct:
- on Normal, Niten may well be a good choice for the arena's without Schoolgirls. That's because it does a lot of damage and has the 2h special skills.
- On hell, Niten will probably still work but you need decent gear and time your skills right.
- I agree that mage is much faster and cheap mage will work on Normal or Hell.
- However..... I really can't see why you'd want to do such a thing. Efficient? Towards what? What's your aim?
  • if it's credits you're after, generally higher difficulty gives better chance of sellable gear, as well as more direct credit drops.
  • If it's trophies you're after, you can better focus on the Schoolgirl Arena's. And for those, Niten sucks. 2h as well. Because you need to kill the tough ones as well.
  • if it's for fun, well HV on low difficulty is kinda mindless moving of your mouse?
  • if it's to gain proficiency, experience and unlock abilities - then higher difficulty is far more effective
  • if it's for getting income for downloading galleries, playing on higher difficulty will probably give more income per minute spent
  • .... well yeah I'm kinda biassed against low difficulty play, sorry about that.

So if you must, go mage - at least that also works against Schoolgirls. And if you do try other styles, let us know how that works for you, maybe we 'experts' can learn something from your experience. Because I have so little experience with Niten!

while i think everyone thanks you for this amount of data, i think they'd be more meaningful by condensing them in a generic "Easter Artifact" category (since each of them works the same, shrine-wise) and grouping crystals (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/ph34r.gif)

Alright, so the imperil tips worked out to make arenas faster, though schoolgirls are still a big time sink with 1H so I'm saving up some credits to make a fire/cold mage.

Since it looks like mage stuff might cost a couple million credits, in the meantime, are there any specific trainings or hath perks I should work my way up to? I have assimilator at 5, ability boost at ~70, and adept learner at ~105ish. For Hath perks I've got IA4, Postage paid, and Vigorous Vitality.

Because I have so little experience with Niten!

well, I just want to take it easy for a while
complete Arena from Power Flux to Eternal Darkness as fast as possible everyday for Credits
either on Normal or Hell
so I'm kinda of messing around a little with builds and such
seeing what works better
though I'm already assuming I probably should just go for a mage lol
one reason I didn't give it a try yet is cause I don't know shit at all about making a proper mage
the other play styles are a lot more straightforward when it comes to choosing gear lol
the most I understood is that if possible I should go for Dark Mage
and all my gear should be Phase and Demon-fiend
I think lol

If you want to become a dark mage I would recommend you get a Legendary Demonic Willow of Destruction, charged phase, radiant phase and two pieces of Demon-fiend. After you increase your proficiency you might only need one cotton piece. Dark and Holy are the best styles aganist the schoolgirls. However its very expensive to forge mage gear beacuse of the Phazons. To fully forge a legendary radiant you'll need 100 phazons at 290k thats 29million on one piece alone plus that doesn't inculde bindings, catalysts, or high grade cloth. If you fully forge 4 raidiant pieces you'll be spending 116 million on phazons alone.
Unfortunately in order to slaughter the arenas in a short time you'll have to forge your gear as much as possible. I would recommend you try to level to 400 before buying mage gear. You'll be able to soulfuse everything so you'll have more options available than right now.
Electric and Wind mages also use willow staffs. Fire and Ice use redwood staffs but you can also use willow. I don't like willow for fire and ice thou. Yeah you get more counter resist but all other stats go down dramatically with a willow staff as opposed to redwood. Mage gear will also be expensive. The price range will go like this Holy/Dark> Wind/Electric > Fire/Ice.
It is very expensive to make the switch but once you do have a fully forged mage set the game gets pretty easy. You'll be able to clear arenas faster and you'll be able to play more. Well best of luck in your decision.
