More monsters is also more daily food, more crystals/pills to keep their morale up.

QUOTE(abc12345678901 @ Mar 10 2018, 21:30) is this piece of gear charged phase pants worth equiping (and forging) over this piece phase pants? Mage is always lacks of defense. More cast speed - more defense, especially in GF, IW.

Another question, does the RoB Kotana always give a token drop? think I'm starting to get to the point where the chaos tokens are more appealing than the credits I gain from fighting and selling FSM.

If I say that people would buy such a piece for millions and kill their neighbour for it, would you think it's worth equipping and forging? (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/happy.gif)

This is normal with 1H. Hm, i cant tell you for sure, because of my rejection to use SoL i was not able to clear a PFUDOR Fest myself. But when i look at how long a Hell/Nintendo Fest takes, i guess would take me between 26 and 28k rounds and something between 4 and 5 hours to clear a whole PFUDOR Fest.

Thinking of starting to level my monsters, should I level them up evenly or one at a time to get to high level mats first (i know it doesn't increase rare drops but high mats would be nice for forgeing), and if 1 at a time, to what level?

Yes even with SoL + Shadow Veil at later level I sometimes still need to flee or even died myself, but I can clear them like 50% of the time, or maybe more. But yes, I took around 5 hours for me, I guess Mage is a lot faster right mmm...~?

Iirc it is with the right mage set, forging, IW and heavy gum/vase abuse possible in under 40 minutes. Imo you should level one by one and i would suggest 792 as average target PL. This post has been edited by Uncle Stu: Mar 11 2018, 11:02

My advice would be to raise them evenly, but to feed them crystals in a way that doesn't waste morale gains. Basically, to feed them crystals every once in a while. You'd need HV Monster Lab Numbers, or similar, to do that though.

Conflicting info, ok, from a cost efficiency stand point, which path would lead me to see a return in my investment the fastest, however long that may be, as in, would getting 1 monster really high for better items on average and (hopefully) more items on average be better or would evenly raising all my minions increase w/ their quality and frequency of gifts better than the other option. I know leveling minions will restore their moral but the drain is extremely slow and the cost of happy pills is almost nothing compared to cost of crystals so I'm not sure if that plays a big enough factor (I should note i have both the gold star and the hath perk that doubles happy pill morale restoring).

Yeah, ask 10 people about monsterlab and you get 10 different opinions. (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) QUOTE(abc12345678901 @ Mar 11 2018, 17:17) ok, from a cost efficiency stand point, which path would lead me to see a return in my investment the fastest,
Have a lot of luck with your monster win battles and let them bring your lots of Phazon and BoS. (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/duck.gif) But i can explain why i think 792 is a good choice if that would help you. First it is a lot cheaper as lets say PL 1000+ and by that of course it is easier for them to pay back the investment, it is also above 750 the PL that set the chance for LG stuff to zero, it is also the PL where they stop to take edible and want cuisine instead. And it is also a bite above PL 500 where they start to bring HG stuff. You could of course now ask why 792 and not 750? And the answer would be that this is the first PL that is above 750 with all stats even out. Yeah, i am a bit OCD when it comes to this. But is like it when they have all stats on the same number. And why do that one monster after another? Well, having one monster at 792 brings you allready a good amount of HG mat and helps by that way to increase your income, or at least reduce the number of HG mats you had to buy for yourself. But in the end, it is mostly luck and for you to decide.

I've determined that I'm terrible at this game. I'm having trouble clearing the early arenas on Normal difficulty with my firemage outfit
Ex-Fiery RW of Surtr 4x Phase of Surtr (Some mix of sup/ex and radiant/plain) 1x Mag Cotton of trash
staff/cloth prof 219, elemental prof 289.
I've seen the posts that you need really good forged gear to mage, but I assumed that was only at higher difficulty levels. I didn't imagine lackluster gear would put me in the range where I significantly struggle at the lowest arenas on Normal. Does this seem right?
I know most people will point me to using 1H, but I'm trying my hardest to avoid switching to 1H builds because I hate the maintenance of potions/draughts/etc while playing that style. I also feel like I worry about dying more often in 1H compared to 2H, but that's probably more of a familiarity thing.

In 1H? (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/unsure.gif) I make quite a good sume by selling most of my draughts, potions and elixirs to a mage because he use much more of them. So, maybe that is your problem. Well that and playing as a mage at a level it is really not recommended.

Really? If I'm playing 1H on PFU or IWBTH I pretty much have all three draughts running 90% of the time. If in danger (5+ monsters is the tipping point roughly) I have to burn a spirit potion or elixir.
