niten + frd if you use featherweight on all of them (you need swift strike too)

It works well with a longsword. But you gotta either play a lower difficulty, or have bullshit high PMit+MMit. Right now, I can only play arenas with Power 2H at Hell/Nintendo difficulty. And even so, the pathetic attack base damage bonus granted by the 2H damage ability, combined with the need to go OP5B4 due to the many monsters parrying, doesn'tmake it worthwhile.
You can also consider Power Niten, along those lines.

For a DW club fatality > butcher > overpower >>>>>>>> swift strike.

Because it doesn't add any damage.
DW defenses are already pretty good without swift strike.

What use are elemental proficiency for?

Actually I am a bit confused by wiki pages and I am not sure what and how stats from equipment will affect spell damage directly?

Elemental proficiency = bigger points -> your elemental spell (fire/ice/bolt/wind) deal more damage and more accurate

Stats from equipment that affect spell damage -> magic damage , spell damage bonus, and proficiency bonus. How they affected? From their stats number added to your character stats. The formula? Read the wiki again... (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Rapier of slaughter? Wakizashi? Dual wield style? Why not using rapier+club? They said it's better....

And about grindfest, everyone can clear it, just lower your difficulty. If you're on pfudor then lower it to nintendo or hell...

IMHO, no way that you can clear it beyond Nightmare/Hell difficulty.
Forget about clearing Grindfest, it's not worth the effort if you can't go through it at IWBTH/PFUDOR.

Really? I thought you're like roadshoe, pffest in 30min. My first on normal lv.12x, round 180 and flee, and because more arenas opened, i leave the fest

Survival? Buy more charged phrases or cottons, and upgrade evade chances and mitigations
Both MDB and EDB are responsible for higher damage, but it also depends on your build. If you have more radiants, which are extremely expensive, you can buy staff with edb suffix. If you have more charged or just plain ones then getting a destruction might be more helpful.

prof is more about spell accuracy and counter-resist. PFD monsters resists a lot you have not the required prof. Non-imperil styles require far more prof, and that's why some holy mage has several cottons of heaven-sent. These can be found on wiki.

It depends on your fighting style. In my case (1h+shield), i upgraded my rapier in attack accuracy stat and parry to almost max (like 20-25/32), because i got more attack damage from my heavy power armor. But if you got better one or maybe good one with nice stats, you have to forge it to max level...
