As my nightmarish experience, it might took several days (maybe 5 days or more, didn't count for). The penalty seem not to be fixed. I remember the usage of stamina become lower before the last even I still get the red mark.

Normally, the stamina usage for arena is 0.03 per round at Stamina 60-99. When you get higher penalty, the usage is like a double(0.06). Since you might enter the arena every day, you will find out you can fight more battle than the previous day when you jump to lower penalty and the changes is significant. Donno the exact usage for lower penalty, but I guess it would like 0.04~0.045.

Even though I'm level 500, the wiki states that proficiency gain is based on exp and exp multipliers so would leveling up adept learner also increases proficiency (like going from lv 200 to 201 = +.333%) on top of assimilator?

Is there any easy/fast way to compare 2 pieces of gear if i want to know the raw increase of stats, especially if they are different levels, or do i need to just pull out the calc, then find the stat value at x level and y forge every time?

Honestly, you don't really need to grind, as you get there fairly automatically. (I'm maxed at this point, and my set isn't even close to fully upgraded) The higher your upgrade is, the more EXP it will give you. So having a few well upgraded things will get there automatically.
41 should be enough to get upgrades high enough so the rest don't REALLY matter much anymore. Of course if you are a mage, upgrades are inflated in cost.

But if you really think you need to grind, in theory leather armor is the best = most cheap.
