My comment on the Agility discussion: If you're getting *some* of the other benefits (AS/Eva) from AGI but not all due to burden, you should probably value AGI at roughly 1/4 of END - AGI provides 1/4 of the total Mitigation/point that END does, and at some point of burden the rest of the AGI benefits are ~going to be equal in value to the HP from END. At that point your AGI should cost roughly 1/4 of your END in exp/point.

Assuming you had 0 benefit from AGI apart from Phys Mit, you would probably put it at around 1/6-1/7, or just 1/5 or 1/10 if you cared more about making the math easy.

Playing Imperil i have a question on it.

Do Imperil have the same chance to hit 3 monster no matter the monster i chose as a target?

I'll ask becouse it seem to me that if i target the first or last monster imperil tend more to hit only the immediatly adjacent one and not all 3 targets (so spreading 2 up or down).

It's the same either way, yeah, just your imagination.

Spells don't have an inherent chance to hit of their own - imagine everything starts off at 100% chance to hit. But monsters can still evade or resist, depending on your accuracy and your counter-resist. Spells can technically miss too if your accuracy is extremely low, but that's not based on the spell itself.

Well some kind stranger gave me a bunch of old power armor, and anyway it turned out that my real problem was that I obtained but forgot to slot my 1h/heavy abilities. Oops


Only thing left to do is to replenish my money and soul shards, but at least there is a clear and distinct path forward.

From my experience, only when you cast imperil on last mob that the game will only target 2 mobs...
When you cast imperil on the first mob, it still target 3 mobs...
Probably because the game thinks there is invisible mobs after the last one, so the game also target it...

That not exact, i sometime get 3 even from bottom but it is true that when i hit the last monster i get a lot less 3 Imperil compared to the first one.

Ok something strange happened (again) today so i'll ask here before just in case.

From the beginning of this year i started playing some RE with my Smartphone but sometime when i get to the news page, that i use as fast link directly from the phone home, the link of a RE won't appear.

This is not because i got sooner or refreshed the page.

Today happened 3 times in a row and i was thinking that maybe i got logged off and i hade no time to check this.

It was not, at the end of day i finished the RE with 21 of them, the 3 missing got the link acivated and not shown.

I checked all three time flipping the phone to increase the screen width.

Anyone else has got this problem and can point to a solution?

Spell targeting logic follows 3 rules.

1) Is the number of enemies in the round less than or equal to the spell's maximum targets?

If so, it hits all of them, regardless of the primary target. Otherwise...

2) Is (position of primary target - rounddown(spell_size / 2)) less than or equal to 0?

If so, it hits all targets from the first position up to the maximum spell size.

Example: imperil hits 3 targets, so if you cast on position 1, it calculates (1 - rounddown(3 / 2)) = 0 and therefore hits targets 1, 2, 3.

Otherwise...

3) If 2 does not apply, it just hits everything normally (for imperil, example: 1 above, primary target, 1 below).

As you can see, although spells 'stretch' from the top downwards, the same check isn't done at the bottom of the monster list, so it can be clipped there.

But that aside, it's not exactly what Maharid's talking about anyway: he just asked about whether the chance to hit is lower on the side targets.

I have a question regarding Holy/Dark mages:

Do people usually alternate casting between the opposite element spell to get the Blunted Attack/Breached Defense explode bonus?

Or do they just keep spamming their strongest element until every mob is dead?

And if they do, do they also do that for the second tier spell?

I have asked this before but did not get a detailed answer. Someone said that someone tried this "zebra" style, but it seems that not worth the effort. I guess if you unlock all the holy/dark abilities and equip them, and also you use katalox staff (the only staff that gives both Dark and Holy EDB), and spell T3 and T2 holy/dark spells alternately, you might get better total damage than traditional Dark or Holy? This is my guess if I was going to try "Zebra" mage style.

Any experienced player please correct me.

Typically no, switching is generally a waste of time. There is some theoretical niche use for non-imperil dark mages (lol) to use the holy tier 3 before using Ragnarok, but as far as I'm aware, every test has proven it a significant waste of turns (including my own personal experience with it).

In that case, I don't feel any difference for the chance...
Sometimes it hit ABC, sometimes it hit AB, BC, or AC with roughly the same distribution...

It's not a bug, no, but making it go both ways would require more code which may be more complex than the top-down case, so it's possible it was just skipped over initially and hasn't really been important enough to ever change since then.

For what it's worth it's probably actually only 2 code paths (rule 1, and then 2+3 combined in the same algorithm) and making the second algorithm respect both top and bottom would make it a little bulkier. I don't really know why it wasn't done without asking & I don't have access to the code either. Only Tenboro would know. (I have a theory that if I say his name, he knows...)

Hi. I would like to seek for advice as I'm confronting some difficulties during the transition from 2H light to 1H shield heavy. This is my primary attributes:

My questions are:
1. Is it normal the battles are much harder using 1H shield than 2H, under the same difficulties (IWBTH/PFUDOR)? Many more potions have to be used for 1H shield to keep me alive, as my hp drops much faster than using 2H.
I have to constantly cast cure/full cure and spam hp/mana potions as well, while draughts are all I need when using 2H mace.
I have activated the relevant abilities (general/1H/heavy/supportive/imperil and weaken), innate arcana III for haste, spark of life, spirit shield and manually maintaining protection, regen and shadow veil.
I know 1H should be slower than 2H when it comes to clearing speed, but I'm surprised my character seems even more fragile than before. Did I get any aspects wrong to make it harder than I thought?
PS. I do have OFC already.

These are my current equipment fyi.
Magnificent Hallowed Axe of Slaughter
Magnificent Cobalt Force Shield of Warding
Exquisite Power Helmet of Protection
Magnificent Jade Power Armor of Warding

A couple of quick things -

The main thing that I noticed is that 1H/Heavy normally doesn't use haste or shadow veil. Try it without using those.

An axe doesn't have parry, so look for a rapier, or maybe a shortsword.

1. you need to build up 1h proficiency again. That will help a lot. Also, check your ability points when you make such a switch. Also, Axe sucks if you're not chopping down trees. Are you chopping wood? No? Then don't use an axe. Find a rapier.

2. Your wisdom looks okay. But yeah you can increase is a bit if you find it annoying. But my advice would be: just use potions and draughts if needed.

3. No. Don't use an axe, it will make your life miserable. 1h is very fast, because monster die from parry. Axe don't parry. You'll be slow as hell. Unless you are ridiculously strong, then axe can work. Like full leg. power of slaughter strong. And DD levels. Keep that axe for future, or just sell it. Don't soulfuse it.

I could only guess: because of axe you have somehow low parry(on successful block or parry you have chance to counterattack, which stuns monsters and stun is a major safety feature), 1h prof too low yet(again lower chance of counterattacks), all armor is mag/exq power(power have lower mitigations, and additionally mag/exq could missing pabs and generally have lower stats), all this should lead to low survivability.

At least grind some more 1h prof so you'll have 75% chance for counterattack, also it will give some addition block chance. Levelup more. It should getting better.

I thought haste/shadow veil may help when my block chance is not high enough.

Spent a lot of time to find and credits on that legendary axe, kinda sad to realize axe isn't good enough tho. (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/cry.gif)

I would love to have some shielding plate armors to increase block chance but they are even rarer than power in these levels (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/cry.gif)

I actually have a Exquisite Ethereal Rapier of Slaughter (Lv.221), so should I use this instead?
