This doesnt work anylonger. You proficiency gain is now calculated by the Xp you gain. Gain less XP means also gain less proficiency. So in the end you can get every level just get Y proficiency, no matter what difficulty you are playing on. And if you actually want more proficiency for you XP, your only choice is to train Assimilator. (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/happy.gif)

QUOTE(Void Domain @ Feb 25 2018, 09:17) I think spellweaver is overrated if you play no imp. Action speed is generally bad for clear speed because it makes your skills cd longer. The defense you gain maybe able to offset the speed lost so you save some potions in the end.
As long as you have pen5+archmage+spellweaver you are fine.
Cool! That makes it a lot easier. And you're right, I've never used Imperil. I'm not even sure how to set it up.. (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) I guess by setting up a shift key in monsterbation. I dunno. QUOTE(DJNoni @ Feb 25 2018, 10:30) Completely gone! You let them expire? Well, had to happen sometimes... You did your share for this site, for sure!
Are you missing being rich already?

QUOTE QUOTE So lately I've sort of just been grinding proficiencies at a low difficulty to minimize xp gain and maximize proficiency gain This doesnt work anylonger. You proficiency gain is now calculated by the Xp you gain. Gain less XP means also gain less proficiency. So in the end you can get every level just get Y proficiency, no matter what difficulty you are playing on. And if you actually want more proficiency for you XP, your only choice is to train Assimilator. The only other way aside from Assimilator to increase your proficiency is to avoid dawn exp as much as possible (because dawn prof lacks the multiplier you get for fighting prof, meaning you get less proficiency than you would get for earning the same amount of exp through fighting). So either don't trigger dawn (not recommended) or try to get as many experience points as possible through fighting. If you fight a lot, you'll also earn credits, which you can spend on Assimilator training, so it's two birds with one stone. This post has been edited by Nicosai: Feb 26 2018, 14:52

Ehm. Not sure what you actualy mean. I will just quote the wiki. QUOTE Base proficiencies are capped at 20% above the player's current level. And wish you good luck hitting that cap anytime soon. (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/happy.gif)

(IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/happy.gif) Yeah I mean, if the cap is 20%, that means max base proficiency is 600 at level 500 right? So I don't really get why people need to rush it if we can still get it later. And about the dawn exp, we get big boost in all proficiency in the first RE I believe, so it should offset the dawn of the day exp right mmm...~?

Yes, 600 is max in the end. Well, you are of course correct that in the end we will all hit those 600 sooner of later. It is just like allways, some people want hit it sooner. And why not? Higher prof means, been stronger. And afaik even the highest assimilator training would not allow you to hit the cap before you reach lvl 500. Well, the dawn prof bonus is not about RE, it is the first battle you fight after the dawn, it doesnt matter what you are fighting. The problem with that is just that those bonus is calculated without the assimilator bonus. So training assimilator and just doing a daily RE after the dawn, just means you have wasted you credits on assimilator.

QUOTE And about the dawn exp, we get big boost in all proficiency in the first RE I believe, so it should offset the dawn of the day exp right mmm...~? Dawn bonus misses the 4x multiplicator you get for fighting. So while it seems you get a lot of prof, that's only because you gain so much experience at dawn.

What 4x multiplicator are you talking about? (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/unsure.gif)

Just out of curiosity, where exactly does the priority in a weapon lie? "Ethereal", "[Quality]", "Rapier", or "of Slaughter"

Oh. But wouldnt that also count for that prof you get after the dawn? Iirc there is just the lack of assimilator bonus that makes it not as good as it could should be. QUOTE(Hichhightest @ Feb 26 2018, 19:56) Just out of curiosity, where exactly does the priority in a weapon lie? "Ethereal", "[Quality]", "Rapier", or "of Slaughter"
Well, that depends on what the weapon is wanted for. Ethereal is mostly overrated, because it is not the best you could get for 1H. But of course it has its uses in a DW set. And while a rapier of slaughter is the best weapon for a 1H player, you dont want one as a off hand weapon in a DW set. A better answer could i only give, if you would ask a bit more more precise. QUOTE(Tenboro @ Aug 18 2017, 13:04) I already coded it; the dawn EXP will be applied as proficiency EXP to all proficiencies, without the 4x multiplier or training multiplier, and you'll "gain" those proficiencies the next time you happen to do a battle.

(IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/happy.gif) Thank you, and sorry, I probably should have been a touch more precise. I use a 1H and Shield heavy build and intend to recycle my mainhand in that build with a mainhand in a DW Light armor build, and be able to swap between the two without having an entire other mainhand to care for. This, of course, assuming such an idea is reasonably viable to begin with.

Well, the problem with that idea is not so much the weapon itself. But the IW you want for that weapon. In a 1H build you really dont want any Overpower, while you actually want at least some of it in a weapon of a DW set.

Well, the rapier I have now has level 5 Overpower, and the leathers I have are generally of a higher quality than my plate. I got myself an Ethereal Wakizashi of Nimble from a trophy at some point, too. Should I slowly start transitioning over?
