Uh, I got innate arcana 1 but... -I really hope I'm not being an blind idiot here- how do I put regen(or heartseeker, but I don't want to do that anyway) on it? I can't find it on the dropdown in settings.

Also, a very kind player generously loaned a set of 21 figurines to me. Is there a way to put them in some kind of storage or at least lock them like equipment? They clutter my inventory and I'd rather avoid accidentally losing one since they're not really mine.

Short answers: no and no.

Long answers: there are five buffs elegible for IA (Protection, Haste, Shadow Veil, Spark of Life, Spirit Shield). That's why IA goes up to IA 5 (all of them). Regen, Heartseeker and Arcane Focus are disqualified intentionally so the game is not quite auto-play even on low difficulty (that's not quite the same as anti-botting measures). Absorb disqualified as an accident of design because it has infinite duration.

There is no current options to protect any sort of items (as opposed to equipment). People request it now and then and it's not on "never to be added" list so maybe someday, but definitely not today.

You have to go in the Character-Settings page, scroll down to "Auto-Cast Slots" and put your autocast spell there. Only those in the scroll-down menu can be put in IA slots though, so NOT heartseeker unfortunately (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/heh.gif) BTW, if you have just bought it, it's possible that the activation takes some time, even up to 24 hours if youre extremely unlucky. You can try to exit HV and EH completely, then login again. Or change some setting, save it, then change it back and save again. Or just be patient (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)


As for figurines, in standard HV interface only Equip Inventory can be locked. Figs are in Item Inventory and cannot be locked. If you use scripts, there MAY be a script config to prevent selling/scraping by accident, but I defer to other peoples experience on this.

Thanks! I just tried it and while I don't like the UI changes from all the stuff it does(feels too cluttered), I did manage to find its specific component script I needed from the wiki:

This one hides figurines by default on the shrine and some other valuable items on the bazaar item shop (dunno about MM).

I have both installed, keeping HVToolbox disabled (since they're incompatible) in case I need some feature that HVUtils doesn't have, but haven't turned it on for months so far. Maybe someone else can highlight the relevant differences.

I've been trying out the silence spell lately and am I missing something or is silence straight up way better than weaken, slow and blind combined? It seems to completely shut down any monster since skills/special attacks are the only thing that hurts whereas they can still do a lot of damage with them under weaken.

Not really a fan of weaken/slow/blind, but I'd say that's fair.

I used Silence a lot on schoolgirls and other bosses when I was a lower-level mage (~Lvl180-250--in hindsight I do not recommend mage'ing that early, but I did) to prevent them from one-shotting me to death.

This became almost irrelevant overnight once I got Spirit Shield loaded into Innate Arcana, but before then it had its place to be useful.

weaken is quicker and cheaper, you can cast weaken all the time if you force to high difficulty with junk equipment (that's what we did in isekai)
silence is also good but it cost a lot and need cool down, i do not like it.
slow & blind are least useful

in this turn every monster act at least 2 times, and some 3
i knew that speed increase move frequency, but this is... too shocking for me
how to prepare for this difficulty? i'm leather+2h build now, should i switch to heavy armors?

2H has ... almost the least defense, only a bit higher than staff mage.

here are some tips for high difficulty challenge:
- get kick-ass gear and/or iw+forge
- cast weaken/silence/absorb/scrolls all the time
- use a shield (Block Lv.25 is recommended)

It seems the difficulty curve start to rise at this level, when i was like 150+, i used to do Nintendo quite easy, and sometimes go IWBTH for random encounter...
i'll just go Hell level to gather equip, thx again

Weaken also completely prevents monsters from being able to critically hit, and in high tower floors where normal attack crits are more than enough to trigger spirit shield, that's valuable. (In fact, any normal hit triggers spirit shield for me now, but I still use weaken to reduce how much spirit it's costing me.)

The monsters are getting super strong and I am having trouble advancing, the only thing keeping me from losing is spamming Frenzied Blows. I can't do any item worlds as without the gear I have right now I can't handle the monsters and they keep getting stronger while I get marginal gains from higher level ability upgrades. Looking for advice on how to readjust my stats perhaps?

Around level 200 it's very difficult to Light Armor users to survive due monsters starting to using their Spirit Attacks which deal a lot of damage and also this is also where players start trying to get into the higher difficulties, making the problem worse.

The general advice for your people around level is switching to 1H with Heavy Armor due vastly superior defense, get a rapier of slaughter/nimble/balance with a prefix or a shortsword in case you can't get a rapier. The second most important equip to get is a shield, so use one with the highest block you can get and fill the rest with any heavy armor.

About general battle advice, first you should cast Spirit Shield and Spark of Life, as they are more important to survive than Haste/Shadow Veil/Heartseeker or Imperil. You could also try casting Weaken rather than Imperil, but you are a bit short on level to get the last Fast Weaken ability so you can cast to three targets without cooldown.

About abilities, you can reset all your abilities for free the first time or just create a new persona so you can slot the 1H and Heavy Armor abilities.

About stats just keep STR, DEX, AGI and END equal and a high as possible for now, don't worry about INT and I'd keep WIS around your level, so your current distribution is not bad.

Don't be afraid to use your Mana Potions to keep all your spells up, they are meant to be used, you can also use draughts for passive recovery, they are dirt cheap and if you look in the WTS section, you can find people giving restoratives for free.

If you want to keep playing DW style, get a Club of Slaughter, that should help.
You may get some good gear from FreeSHop, but your level is still too low.

At your level, i recommend a rapier as main hand with that waki of the nimble (or shortsword if you get a rapier of the nimble). Also, your weapons need Item world. If you want to keep playing dw, of course.
Both 1h and dw are pretty good if you want to play at high difficulty

btw, club only works (well) with a rapier as offhand
