So I'm about 200 soul fragments from Soulfusing my Fire Mage gear (I was in someguy's shoes about 3 months ago). Then I'll be ready to start forging my gear and then I hope soon to start fighting as a fire mage.

Are there any instructions on how it actually works? Like what skills/spells to cast first, next, last, etc? Maybe an instructional or example video? Which spells are worth the mana and which to just never use?

Just use monsterbation and the hotkey to use fire spells and you will be fine.

Well if credits really dont matter. And i am talking about a lot of credits here, i would guess that holy is better, because you dont need imperil. But we are talking about an amount of credits someone like me has problems to afford. So if you actually now think about going holy, my advice is, dont go holy. Dont do it.

The safe way to mage is to set your 'hover action' in monsterbation to the the spell rotation of your element

Then set your 'shift hover' action to imperil first, then togglehover. This way, you cast imperil only when your vitals/buffs aren't low/about to expire, and there is no risk of defeat like there is if you hard cast imperil

Strongest([ToggleHover, Cast('Imperil')])

Bind some key to ToggleHover, and start round with hover disabled.

Then every round goes like this:
1. Hold shift and tap your ToggleHover key while hovering over the monsters you want to imperil
2. Once every monster is imperiled, release shift and press your ToggleHover key

Heal/buff as needed. Keep Haste, Protection, Shadow Veil, Spirit Shield, Spark of Life, Regen, Arcane Focus, and Draghts up at all times. I personally only use infusions after a riddlemaster, and usually only if I'm playing in GF/IW

You don't really need other spells, but MagNet can be nice on the dragons and FSM

If i were you, i guess i would go for elec. Iirc it can clear PFest even faster as holy and it is cheaper.

This is probably a horribly min-max question but: is everyone getting the same total XP at the level cap? Or would a player that cross the level cap with HATH/awards/training for high bonus XP possibly gain extra to motivate a really choice battle to fhe end stats?

You still gain it with the same bonuses you had before 500, and any bonuses you gain after. You don't gain more level, or points towards attributed, but it goes towards prof still. So if you have exp bonuses, you'll still get them at 500

Yeah, everyone gets the same exp at 500 for the sake of allocating to PABs.

Every player in that regard is the same pool that has to be filled. And while some use a glass of water to fill it, or do it with a bucket, while others do it with a firehose or multiple ones, when the pool is full, it is full, you cant fill in more, no matter how fast you fill it.

There are not really any guidelines, but it is quite easy to see when an item is worthless. Plate is worthless, leather is worthless, any missmatching staff is HGW, any weapon with low damage and or parry is worthless, anything besides force shield is most of the time HGW. And if you want more exact prices look up what equal items did sell for in recent auctions. And that is all i can suggest you because in the end it is only about supply and demand an item that this time actually causes a bidwar between two rich player can go to a shit-tone of M, while the next time because there is only one left who would want it, it wont even reach half the price. Btw, can you distance yourself from using such big and fat letters, because tbh, i actually did thought because of them to just ignore you question.

That would be mage, but it is not recommended for your level and assumed income. Just dont even think about going mage right now.

Good luck with that, i play for years now and havent maxed even one.

I will just ignore the contection for question number 1 and suggest a solid 1H set. A one hand weapon, shield and heavy armor aka plate power armor.

As much credits as you feel you can easy afford at the moment.

That is up to you to decide.

Ok, I've tried to collect a half-decent set for a dark mage (Arena-only for all intents and purposes)

staff
cotton cap
phase robe
cotton gloves
peerless phase pants
phase shoes or maybe this ones

Given appropriate forging which are good enough to keep, which are placeholders, and which ones should be donated to a good cause or broken for scrap? And yes, I do intend to soulfuse them since I have almost enough soul fragments to bind two full sets of my lvl+100.

Also: peerless pants were somewhat of an impulse buy. Are they good enough to be considered endgame equipment or mid-range radiant legendary would be better?

P.S. I know some things may or may not change soon but, I want to gauge the setup in the current circumstances.

So I'm wondering how to best increase my gear's Potency Tier and pick out the best Innate Potential perks.

Here's how I've been doing it:

Set Item World difficulty to Nightmare, because I don't have Dark Descent and any higher would get multiple perks at once, costing me multiple Amnesia Shards in the highly likely chance that I get perks I don't want.

On a melee weapon, reforging unless I get the primary perk I want... I.e. Butcher. Anything else, I reset.

Then if I don't get the primary or secondary perk I want, reset. But do this part at the highest difficulty I can instead of Nightmare. Chances are ok-ish to pass this step, but costly in Amnesia Shards if I don't.

How do you guys do it? I really just want Butcher at least 4, preferably 5, and then some rank of Fatality among the 3 perks I (likely) am going to end up with.

How do you decide when to reset? For example, if you got Fatality first (especially multiple ranks of it), would you keep going to see if you got Butcher second, or just reset it?

Edit: Oh yeah, currently I lucked out and got Butcher 4 with nothing else (but now I'm waiting for Stamina to regen before continuing). If I don't get Fatality next, I have to decide to either stick with the difficult to obtain Butcher 5 (I hope not 4) but no Fatality or reset and start over. And I have just 15 shards left (I started with 30).

Peerless is good, but not as good as a mid-range radiant legendary, which is worse than a mid-range charged phase.

Yeah if you are really going for dark mage, forge the shit out of your staff at least, and forge your proficiency on the cottons.
