Sorry for bugging the experts again.
I'm really digging using an Estoc and Light armor, though there are times I get chunked hard when there's 11+ enemies. Is it worth sitting on low-potencies to switch to a Rapier/Shield? Or even go back to Heavy Armor? I'm over-levelled on Light/2H potencies so I'd like to stick with those, but any opinions would be great.

Questions are always welcome. It gives Uncle Stu something to do (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif) Don't worry about proficiency too much as melee, especially at lower level. It doesn't make an enormous difference and they'll stay reasonably close to your level from dawn exp, even if you neglect any particular type. Even if you switch later, you'll not suffer too badly. It's not recommended to play 2H with heavy armor - the damage is better, but the survivability is much worse, and 2H lacks avoidance due to very low parry from its ability and none from its weapon. Switching to 1H might be a good idea - it's certainly the most comfortable melee style, especially beyond level 300 - but it's not necessary. 2H can be reasonably played all the way to 500, or you may find you want to switch to mage at some point. One other thing to note is that there's never 11+ enemies at a time: the cap is 10, and from what I've observed, that's only in IW/fest where there's a normal maximum of 9 monsters, and sometimes a mini-boss can be added on top of that. Lestion advices are usually good, or even very good. But speaking as a middle-level who has played all main styles and stuill remember well how it was/is, and seeing that you have played Leather/2H having prof and experience in that, I would suggest you to try DW/Leather instead of 1H/Heavy. You will have still to build DW prof, but you can profit from your Light armour prof from the start; the choice of weapons to use for main and second hand is much more flexible (there are different options, all giving good results) and if you have to buy something is quite probably a cheaper solution then having to get a good shield at your level and possibly a good slaughter rapier or shortsword too (1H/heavy without a good shield is ... not really good (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/heh.gif)). It is also faster then 1H/H, at least until you are higher level AND have good Power armor. Summing it all up, I think DW/Leather in your case has many advantages and fewer disadvantages, as a temporary style while you level up to Lv.300+ and start to buid a good build ( (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/heh.gif) ) for 1h/Heavy.

I really don't understand this game.
I level up and I put my points into various stats. I try to equip good items when I find some.
But I'm not getting stronger. Hell I might even be getting weaker.
Doing the arenas even on the easiest difficulties is super difficult. Even if they're way lower than my level. The level 50 arena is beyond me, I can't complete it, it's too difficult. I even used health potions and draughts (I tried this game a year or two ago and I was sent some), and even with those I can't beat lvl 50 arena. Hell, I'm running out of those potions after using so many and I still can't beat that level.

When upgrading my rapier, should I prioritize the physical crit chance or the parry chance, since straight up damage increase doesn't seem to be very large?

QUOTE(Chaisy @ Nov 27 2020, 21:47) Which Legendary Fiery Willow Staff of Destruction is better, given that whichever is chosen will be soulbound: ... And how did you make the determination that you make?
The first. The damage difference should be extremely minimal, but the proficiency on it will make it easier to hit your 0.79 target, and maybe transition to a more efficient prof slot later when you've raised your base prof enough. This post has been edited by lestion: Nov 28 2020, 01:16

Wrong question. The right question here is this. Do you want a bit more damage -yeah, the damage increase isnt that big overall- or do you want more defense?

That is a good point, but doesn't parrying also cause damage? Whenever I use my Bindings of Slaughter, I sometimes feel like the upgrade isn't doing much.

Well it doesnt increase your damage directly, but more your potential damage output. But you have to keep in mind, that counter attacks cant crit and they also dont get additional stikes. Here let me show you how this looks for me. This is a counter attack. You counter Where Do I Not Fear for 4134 points of void damage. While this a direct attack on the same monster. Void Strike hits Where Do I Not Fear for 4949 void damage. Holy Strike hits Where Do I Not Fear for 2178 holy damage. You crit Where Do I Not Fear for 15993 void damage. You see? Counter attack are not that big of a deal compared to you normal attacks. They have also a cap of 75% and most of the time the monster get stunned when it gets hit by a counter attack, and therefore it wont attack for a while and dont trigger any additional counter attacks that could damage it. So yeah, higher parry has the potential to increase your damage output, but imo it is mostly there to prevent damage from physical attacks and to help you to keep your spirit stance going by giving you additional overcharge. But of course the damage of counter attacks can be improved, either by imperil monster and reduce their defenses, or by using a rapier and switching your main target all the time to spread the Penetrated Armor in the round. You can also do both, which does imo increase you damage output by quite a bit and at least with enough damage also decrease your clear time by a bit. But you have to keep in mind by spreading the PA debuff, it of course takes longer to kill the first monster off for good, so while one should be able to clear a round a bit more faster, you also have to tank more hits.

Thank you for the explanation and example. This has given me some stuff to think about the next time I upgrade my rapier. It's already fully maxed out on IW and it's a Legendary Arctic Rapier of Slaughter, so I'm trying to get it as strong as possible.

Also note that counters are capped at 3 per turn, although against schoolgirls, it's unlikely you'll hit that (since they generally aren't hitting you that often, even with 0 attack speed).

Random question about the Daemon Duality perk: is it supposed to not affect damage-over-time effects?
In my case for example, before unlocking the next tier of DD, my Burning Soul debuff always dealt 7163 damage per tick. After unlocking the next tier of DD, the damage of Burning Soul didn't change.
Is this intended or a bug?

Umm... probably a minor oversight, but may be intentional. The number comes from the following formula, and doesn't appear to be affected by any other damage modifiers (as far as I know): CODE Damage over time = MDB * (1 + EDB / 100) * 0.2 If it's been at least a day since you activated the new DD perk (just to be safe), I'll add it to our internal list of oddities.

Thanks for the reply. Curiously, it suddenly started working now, about 10 minutes after I activated the perk. I guess there's just some kind of a delay there. So yeah, no worries.

All perks take some time to activate, because the HV servers have to sync up with the main servers. You got pretty lucky if it was only a 10 minute delay, it can take hours.

Hello, how are you doing? =) Hi have some questions, I want to optimize my battles in the Arena. My build is Heavy + Shield on PFUDOR (level 310+) 1 - What is the recommended weapon for my build? Currently I have three swords, two with void dmg and on with elemental dmg, what is the best on arena (when level 10) in your opinion? I use imperil on boss monsters. Curently I use the Magnificent Shortsword of Slaughter (IMG:[ image.noelshack.com] https://image.noelshack.com/fichiers/2020/48/6/1606565245-clipboard01.jpg) Magnificent Shortsword of SlaughterMagnificent Tempestuous Rapier of SlaughterMagnificent Ethereal Wakizashi of Swiftness2 - What is the recommended armor? Currently I prioritize “power” equipment’s. I read that I need to level up “Juggernaut” first, Is there other bonus good to have? (IMG:[ image.noelshack.com] https://image.noelshack.com/fichiers/2020/48/6/1606565306-equipment.jpg) 3 – I use the script Hentaiverse Monsterbation and I don’t know what is the best special attack between 'FUS RO DAH' and 'Orbital Friendship Cannon'? Do I keep my 10% dmg bonus when I choose “Dovahkiin” Title? CODE Godslayer +10.0% Damage, +3% Evade Dovahkiin The power of the Dragonborn. If you have any other tips, I would be very grateful =) Thanks This post has been edited by azerty29: Nov 28 2020, 14:56
