why crystallized phazon are so expensive compared to power and shade material?
feel too overpriced to upgrade phase cloth

High-level rich people play as a mage and the demand outweighs the offer by a large margin, hence the price.

I feel like getting the Daemon Duality 5 instead of upgrading phases gives you a better boost in damage for the same price. Does anyone else have the same feeling?

Supply and demand law.

Most mid-high level players are mages. So the demand for Phazons is high.

A few players still use Heavy Power, and very few use Light Shade. So the demand for Repurposed Actuator and Shade Fragment is low (there is a lot of material available).

2h heavy armor is not the most optimal set-up for 2h, light armor has more benefits for 2h for most players.

Spells? Regen, heartseaker, maybe heal sometimes, and imperil probably.

Don't forget everything available under innate arcana, if you don't have all those perks unlocked - protection, haste, shadow veil, spark of life, spirit shield.

It's a flat addition, not a multiplier affecting your stats.

The market price seems obscene at first glance, but it makes sense for the reasons given here.

I was lucky to receive one from one of my monsters recently.

I do wonder whether it is more worthwhile to just hold onto it for later, when I have "final" gear to upgrade and hold onto long-term, or sell now and finance something(s) more immediately useful. (not a good idea to waste it on something I won't be keeping long-term, for sure.)

Well, let's put it this way: one phazon is worth about 300k, and a full mage set requires 150-200 of them (up to 60m) - and the rest of the materials required for forging will cost another 100+m.

Since you put it that way, it doesn't seem like much of a question at all now. Before mentioning it above I hadn't really considered it much beyond "just set this aside for now", but what you say makes a lot of sense--thanks for the advice.

For reinvesting, you could search through the WTB listings for the best price, or you could send them to the auctions. Personally, I usually just find the auctions easier to use, while the listings are more for immediate credit gains.

HVMarket is also a good option

I've never seen a Peerless Shortsword of the Battlecaster, either in auctions or shops.

But this Legendary I've got in bazaar seems to be near enough to be usable: good enough ADB and Parry, nice PABS and overall seems quite good; and only 2 level above me now.

Not ethereal, but the burden can be negated with a shard and since it's a battlecaster doesn't have interference, while having mana saving.

I plan to soulfuse it to use in a 1H-Mage build, do you think it's a reasonable idea ?

I've taken a look at my trophy/artifact inventory and I've noticed that I've got some stuff saved from past events like the most recent Festival Coupons to the Stocking stuffers from past years.

Is it worth me using them up to see what I could get now, or should I wait until I get the Snowflake perk for the hopes of getting a good Peerless item? Or would I be better off just selling them off in the auctions?

just switched to 1h with heavy armour. for this, i have 3 legendary and a peerless.
however this feels way worse! mana consumption is huge and survivability seems worse...
am i doing something wrong?

You may notice that Festival Coupons can't be sold. So, I guess you'll have to shrine those? The rest of us did.
Other items can be sold. Stocking Stuffers are not the most expensive items, similar to real life. Waiting until you get FOS? If I were you I'd first get a gold star, and Demon Duality 5.

proficiency makes all the difference yes. It will get better as you go on. Just to be sure: did you change your abilities as well? Also, forging your shield helps a lot against healing. If you have a decent force shield, that is.

Yes, the HVMarket is what I went with there. It seems to allow a good balance between 'wanting to get a good price' and 'wanting to move something quick'.

Base drop chance = 0.0001%, that goes as well for trophies. All trophies have 0.0001% chance for Peerless
