What does the "rare drops" bit under the Luck of the Draw training actually cover?

Is it rare equipment (power, shade, phase, force), or some other stuff that counts as rare (e.g. figurine artifacts), or both?

rare equips are: Force Shield, Phase clothes, Shade armor, Power armor
rare items are: elixirs are rarest restorations, monster cuisine is rarest food, etc.

Thank you! I had consulted that wiki page, but only noticed the part about rare equips, probably because the chart part does not specifically mention rare items.

When I first came up with my question, I wanted to ask for a complete listing of rare items – it had been pretty easy to find a complete listing of rare equips. But since I was unsure whether any items count as "rare" when it comes to Luck of the Draw, I went with a vaguer question. Sorry for the trouble.

(According to the table part, collectables are rolled separately from artifacts, and that roll is not affected by any training. Thus I now believe pony figurines do not count as rare items.)

I just unlocked the Dovahkiin title. But to use FUS RO DAH it seems like I actually have to use that title. Does using that title mean I won't get the Godslayer +10.0% Damage, +3% Evade buff?

Still took me 2 hours 15 minutes to finish that arena... not worth doing and so tedious. And that was only on IWBTH.

Yes, that is correct. Consider FUS RO DAH to be a defensive option - with proper OC management, you can keep things permanently stunned. For damage, Godslayer is better.

second question - lately i cant get any random encounters or first visits of the day - i get a message that says failed to generate key. any ideas?

You're probably not getting more riddlemasters, just feels like it because you're going faster.

You may need to update HVUtils URL component. That message also occurs when you've already triggered dawn or REs through other means (like manually visiting a gallery / the news page).

Mostly only in two specific cases, i.e. :

1) If they are so many years ago, that they are of kinds that don't drop anymore, i.e. "obsoletes". Some of them can reach very high prices (some not though), depending on collectors' choices.

2) If they are still unassigned, and of some specific interesting types, they can get some (modest) credits from low-level players; you should ask Decondelite in this case, if they are suitable for his auctions.

Otherwise, usual requirements normally apply.

is the captcha just part of the game or does something bad happen if you get it wrong? i almost ran out of time with one that didnt match anything on the chart perfectly. somehow i got it right tho but the horse on the captcha didnt have the horn visible so i got confused

When you answer incorrectly It decreases your stamina, and may increase the rate they appear for a short while. When you answer them correctly, you gain a damage buff

in addition to what angaver said: it's no problem to miss a riddle every now and then, but if it happens often you will get into troubles. If you answer wrong time after time, every time you will lose more stamina per wrong answer. It will keep getting more and more.

Depends.
Usually cost per PXP point.
Simple IW service would give you Lvl 10 IW with random potency.
If you wants specific potency you might need to pay more as it would take more run, also you might need to pay for the amnesia shard cost.
There are people who offer fixed-price package for specific potency/potencies.
Ask the one who offer the service for more detail.

It is a service, where you pay someone to do the Item World on your equipment.

Single IW: you pay for one round of IW
Single IW to 10: you pay to get the equipment to IW10, but it doesn't matter which potenties are unlocked
Single Potency: You pay to get the equipment to IW10, with one specific potency at 5. For instance, you want Juggernaut 5 on your armor
Double potency: You pay to get the equipment to IW10, with a specific combination of potencies. This is useful for end-game weapons and staf. For staf, most players ask or penetrator5+spellweaver4 (10th is hollow forged always).

there are a lot of different ways to do item world service. I do it fixed price, but only for jug5 or pen5spel4. My service is not the cheapest on average, but the risk of an extremely difficult IW is completely at my side. Others use a price per round.

Is PFUDOR fest meant to be nearly impossible as mage?
I've got a full holy set with fully upgraded staff with pen 5 and spell weaver 5 upgraded full pants, boots, gloves and all with jugg lvl 5, helm with both jugg and Capacitor lvl 5.
Two of those piece are radiant, the rest are charged.
DD IV, IA IV and I'm still being trashed reaching round 300. Farthest I've gotten was probably between 600-700 before a group one shot me even though I had full hp, mp, spirit and all my buffs up.

Nope. Not impossible at all. It's more like you're clinging to a playstyle that is utterly obsolete and that was bound to become unplayable.
You're persisting in trying to play non-imp holy, which means playing this way:

The new meta is to play Imperil + Charged + DD9. Which means everything but holy. And in the meanwhile, there is still a majority of delusional players who still throw hundreds of millions in holy gear that won't allow them to do anything.

In other words... You have to assemble an entire new mage set. And because hardships never come alone: even historically cheaper mage sets (fire, cold) become more popular, thus less cheap, and the materials prices are increasing more and more.

well, yes it is getting harder by the day. As decon said, imperil is still working nicely, but the non-imperil mages suffer the most. Fridays are the worst days. I don't bother playing PFFEST on Fridays anymore, or at least not that often as I used to. (boy, did I play a lot in the past)

I have a question about suitability of mage staves and how they're priced. Lets take two staffs being sold by one of the major WTS sellers:

Why is there such a huge price disparity? Which stats are most important for pricing, and which are actually most useful for arenas and grindfests?
