No, not old and rare enough. Collectors prefer stuff that no longer drop at all. Something like dagger or gossamer or stuff from the fine tier. I havent even heard once someone could be interested in generic pre 0.82 equipment.

207% EDB bonus is I believe too low to expect a reliable wipe, even at 300%+ it's still a bit unreliable if not backed by high MDB (read: boosted by some radiant).
there's nothing you could do except start upgrading your equip (more).
maybe you could try using generic phase for 4+1 setup to boost your EDB bonus abit higher while retaining that lewd .69+ prof factor by either upgrading your cloth prof to 50 (this is the cheapest upgrade after your staff) or try to use pants/robe cotton.
i mean, if you only play arena, you don't need the charged yet.

Having gotten past level 100, I’m starting to get acquainted with boss-class monsters.

Please share some time-honored means of withstanding boss attacks. Is there, for instance, some simple method of making sure their spirit bars cannot reach 100%? If the wiki has something on this, I have been looking in all the wrong places.

soon all monster will have spirit attack too, try to start utilizing spark of life to stay alive, you should have it now as it unlocked at lvl 100.
Starting lvl 200 you'll have another spell (spirit shield) to negate those attack, but for now that's the card you're dealt with.

Thank you all, that was a lot of good suggestions. The main problem could be that while I have spent points on them, I know way too little about abilities. After all, I mostly do random encounters, and there it seems easy enough to survive without understanding half of the game.

ssss2's HVUtils script have an ability point calculator, there's an option to show what ability useful for each playstyle, except that it didn't show any need on any depreciating spell ability for melee (which you might use) it's a decent starting guide that you could try.

Some of my "mistakes" are related to personal preferences. For example, I really like to go for a fighting style where I evade or parry rather than take hits – but well, this is not the only game where tanking is the default.

actually, damage avoidance is part of core defense source for most if not every playstyle in this game, even mage need to rely on evasion and parry to some extent in this game to stay alive, so your preference is actually "on meta" here.

no dude, you are not suppost to be able to clear most of a wave after imperil and T3. Not without full forging, not without high proficiency, not with at least a couple of levels of Demon Duality. But what you're doing is fine as well, it just takes longer.

Your setup is right, but you've made the error to sink in that much in your staff's MDB, while neglecting your phase's EDB. I can understand the use of 2 cotton as elemental (I've done the same when beginning) and not forging them fully, but there is no excuse to not have everything Forge 5'ed. It' very important that have at least that much, because the 5 first levels of forging are those that bring in the most stats, while they don't require bindings.

I understand that the price of phazons is going berzerk these days, but these things are not a thing you can do without.

No, that is still a pretty nice and viable set. So unless you actually want make something different, i would say stay with it.

Monsterbation is still the best script for battle, buy you should definitely update to the newest version.
Holy mage gear still good. You can work with that and upgrade much later.
Skill rotation, just cast all defenses or put them in Innate Arcane slots. And then start hovering with monsterbation.

As I don't know how high your staff and cap base prof, try calculate what you get from just using one cotton first.
I think you need at least 50% from each with sufficient upgrade to stay above .70 prof factor.

we haven't got any 0.82 patch again, so yours still fine. but lately there are people who shift to non imperil radiant instead of charged.

I think it's depends, 2nd page arena is fine to clear everyday, some prefer doing the 1st page for tokens too before doing their IW/fest grind, some consider those 1st page arena as "generally inefficient".
For RoB I think generally people do only the FSM (5tokens) daily and sell the noodle, some also do konata expecting free run by getting another token or wishing for a chaos token exchange but once again it might be a losing gamble (moreover if you had all monster slot unlocked).
you might wants to update everything, as far as I remember there are some necessary update to stop the script from doing what might be illegal, hvutils had one a few weeks ago, I believe monsterbation also had some a few years back, I don't know if yours is before or after the update, so just upgrade it so you're on the safe side.

Do you maybe still remember doing Hell Fest? But afaik the most profitable Fest would be PFUDOR, with IWBTH close second. But that is mostly because token and artifact drop rate for lower difficutly fest is reduced. So i would suggest do PFUDOR or IWBTH.

I ran them in IWBTH for a long time. It's actually better than PF in raw profit for most players, but PF has considerably better equipment drop rates. It's up to you which you prefer to play.

The others didn't quite cover it, but mages have two styles of play: imperil, and non-imperil. Imperil is stronger for 99% of people (ie, anyone who doesn't have high quality radiants and very high DD levels), but it's also a little more tedious to play.

Holy is pretty bad at imperil; it doesn't have deprecating prof on Oak, and it doesn't have counter-resist on Katalox, and it doesn't have holy EDB on Willow if it chooses a staff that has both of the first things. These stats affect how often imperil is resisted & has to be recast. On top of that, it has a slightly worse imperil - it only reduces 25% holy mitigation, rather than the 40% reduction elemental types enjoy.

Most people play holy as non-imperil, partly because the holy debuff is incredible for it, and partly because imperil is a little tedious to play.

Since you're already geared for holy - albeit with charged everything, not radiants - you'll probably want to play non-imperil. For fests, that means you're gonna want to play on a lower difficulty until you can realize the mage dream of high DD, full forging, high prof, holy radiants, etc etc...

You should be fine in arenas, though! You should imperil schoolgirls, and magnet FSM, unicorn, and drogon & chums, but other than that, you can just blast through with the standard T3>T2>T1 priority sequence (T3 whenever available, if not T2, if not that then T1).

Hellfest is still profitable. Not as much as higher difficulties, but you'll still be making more than it costs just by playing. You might go insane and burn out though (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)

True that (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif) I was just wondering if there's a rule of thumb when I should replace an underleveled equipment for a lower quality but at my level equipment, ie I should trade my leg 30 below my level for a mag at my level or I should trade my leg 60 below my level for an exquisite or something to that effect.

I would love to soulfuse, but I don't have enough fragments. Unless I'm missing something, I can only farm from RE (or New Dawn from hath perk, or directly buy from shop but it's so expensive for me).
