QUOTE(decondelite) It's just a personal playstyle designed to max out the prof gains without slowing myself down much, but... 1) Wrath of Thor, 2) 3xImperil, 3) Paradise Lost, 4) 0-1 recasts of Imperil, 5) Murder everything I've been doing some testing and experimentation lately. Would replacing Wrath of Thor with Focus be useful? Although it would be bad for other reasons, if you have Haste you can cast 3x Imperil and 1x Paradise Lost for free off of just 1 Focus. This would also eliminate the need for Aether Shards. You would also constantly be regenerating mana due to all the Focusing. Gathering overcharge could become a problem.

QUOTE(resident88 @ May 11 2020, 03:47) I first killed the minion and was killed on turn 373 with only one of two hits at most left to kill the unicorn despite having at least 95% of my health left with spirit challenging, protection, haste and other stuff on. I clicked for what I thought was the last time and got killed. WTF?
Turn 373? 373? Like in nearly 400? Yeah, no, fight them at a lower difficulty. QUOTE(resident88 @ May 11 2020, 03:47) My spark of life just ran out but there was basically no visible health on the monster left and the slow fight was going just fine with me never dipping below 60% of my max health even if a critical hit me. How is this a level 150 fight?
Level 150 fight? No, no you need to have at least level 150 to unlock it. And overall your level doesnt say anything about how strong you are. Someone at level 300 with a fully forged peer set would be much stronger as someone at level 500 with the same equipment but not forging and just the Mag versions. QUOTE(resident88 @ May 11 2020, 03:47) I have zero interest in doing this broken bullshit again but I need the gold. What´s the best way to farm Blood Tokens?
It isnt broken, you did just play on a too high difficulty, also because you didnt mention it i am sure you also didnt silence or weaken the unicorn, right? And i allready told you. QUOTE(Uncle Stu @ May 11 2020, 01:56) The unicorn isnt really the best RoB to do more often unless you really have enough token to do them all anyway. I would suggest to do the FSM for money when you sell the noodly, or Konata to try to trade blood token for chaos token.

I had weaken turn on for a lot of the fight when only the unicorn was left and played it on normal both times. I never messed with the difficulty in RoB to not waste tokens. The fight at level 100 was way under 50 turns and the enemies took actual damage. The unicorn and its minion might as well be made of titanium.
I have now maxed out weakend which I dind´t before. 2 more tokens to farm. Silence it. I can try that.

Just to make sure, your equipment is repaired? They have a lot of hit points, but it sounds like you're doing nowhere near enough damage.
It might be easier giving you more specific advise if you post links to your equipment (pressing c (while capslock is off) while hovering mouse over an equipment piece will create a popup of it), and a screenshot of your character sheet

This is probably a dumb question, but do the items in this game have requirements to equip?

You can't equip something (armor/weapon/shield) with a level higher than your level.

Where's the elemental prof in that? (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/huh.gif) And the counterattacks? What about my OC? Will I even survive? Cuz', I dunno about you, but I've already tried to use Focus as mage, in poor little rounds of 4 monsters in arenas. It was ugly. Don't want to imagine what it gives to wear a "hit me more" sign on my head in a PFFEST against an entire party on steroids. Even as 1H, it won't be pretty. (IMG:[ i.imgur.com] https://i.imgur.com/QYQeWg6m.png) And no, it wouldn't eliminate the need for Aether anyway.

Why does skipping dawn help you earn more prof? Even though first battle of the day already give a lot of prof?

I'm at level 317 and I'm starting to create a holy or dark mage, but I have no equipment options for my element next to my level (Heimdall or Fenrir), is it possible to use Protection and Warding? Or is it better to wait and try to gather equipment in my element?

QUOTE(BL.Kunkka @ May 11 2020, 19:10) Why does skipping dawn help you earn more prof? Even though first battle of the day already give a lot of prof?
That isnt even true all the time. I mean if you have absolutly no assimilator training, it doesnt even chance anything. But in theory, when you had a lot assimilator training and on the other hand level up very slow, so that a lot of the needed XP for a level up comes from dawn, you would of course get less prof per level as someone who would do most of his XP from playing the game. Because the prof gain from dawn doesnt care about your assimilator training, which would let to less overall prof per level from dawn. But i still wouldnt suggest to skip any dawn for this. No, that would be a terrible idea. I mean you would want a 3+2 set. Three phase and two cloth, from the phase you want EDB, from the cloth you want prof to reach the needed prof factor. Protection and Warding gives you none of that. And are thereby completly useless. Holy even wants a prof factor of 1.0. And to tell you how hard it can be to reach that, i have fully forged all prof in my set and the Divine Warmage perk and i still only have a prof factor of 0.996 atm. And may i also remind you that holy and dark mage are by far the two most expansive play styles? When you allready start and dont even have a bad 3+2 but you want to use protection and warding, you maybe want to overthing playing as dark or holy mage. Especially when you dont even look sure which of those you actually want to play now.

don't skip dawn. Dawn is great. But wiki says CODE The rate of gains is based on the amount of experience (including any bonuses to EXP gain) gained during battles where a proficiency is used in some way.
The rate at which proficiency is gained can be increased via Assimilator training at +10% per rank trained, up to a maximum of 2.5x the normal rate.
The amount of gain depends on the difference between player's level and prof. The higher the spread, the higher the gain you'll receive.
The chance for proficiency gain when using a spell is 100%.
After the Dawn event the next battle will automatically give a set increase to all proficiencies, including those not in use by the player. The amount is based on the gap between the player's current level and their current proficiency; this amount is not affected by anything else. That last sentence: if you have all kinds of modifiers such as assimilator, they don't matter for the dawn prof. But hey, dawn is too good to skip. Free moneys! Free EXP! Free Proficiency! And, access to Random Encounters! Highest legendary drop chance is in Random Encounters.

Highly unrecommended; especially holy. Holy is best played non-imperil, but this is only really achievable with extreme investment. Good holy gears are very expensive and often hard to find (especially Hallowed Oak Staffs of Heimdall). Dark is best played imperil style, as with every other element, but most players will require an extra proficiency piece to maintain 1.0 prof factor, and therefore lose some damage. I'd recommend considering fire or cold mage with a relatively easy-to-obtain redwood staff, to start out. If you want to play mage, you should spend some time studying the advanced advice section of the wiki. Building mage is advanced compared to the melee styles, and requires more understanding of the game mechanics to get full value out of. Mage is a glass cannon build which is dangerous to play & must be understood and optimized to make PFUDOR possible - even in arenas, which are the easiest mode of gameplay besides random encounters. You may find that, after trying a basic fire or cold build, that mage is not what you were expecting it to be; switching to mage usually costs somewhere around 50-100m in forge costs to make viable for item world & grindfest (although arena can be achieved much cheaper, albeit uncomfortably).

Don't want to imagine what it gives to wear a "hit me more" sign on my head in a PFFEST against an entire party on steroids. Even as 1H, it won't be pretty. Monsters probably won't hit you hard in the early turns so I'm guessing 1H can survive, but it could be close as you said, and if you need to add defense then this wouldn't be worth it. On the other hand, if you don't block/parry at all in the first 3~5 turns (with Haste to squish everything into one Focus and Paradise's long cast time abuse) you will inflict a ton of early Burns onto enemies from Fire or Elec Shield; that could be worth something. Spike shields do decent magic damage to enemies if you get hit as well (but only 5 damage if block/parry). You could also consider Focusing twice without Haste, for even more masochistic pain to everyone. Two Focuses would probably be unsustainable to overcharge though; even one per round might be. Even if this is not useful for gaining elemental prof, or for playing faster, I was thinking perhaps it could have some use in Imperil Shortsword vs Imperil Rapier tests, to consistently make sure everyone is imperiled with the least amount of randomness or debate on the results (aside from the idea that it might be better for rapier to not re-imperil enemies).

Question, how do the Strength and Dexterity Primary attributes work in the dual wielding fighting style, how should my points be distributed among those 2 Primary attributes?

Usually people leave Str and Dex equal in all melee styles. A lot of people probably don't realize it but both stats actually do the same thing, mixed. CODE Strength (STR) 1 point = +2 to Physical Damage formula 1 point = +0.5 to the Physical Crit Chance formula
Dexterity (DEX) 1 point = +1 to Physical Damage formula 1 point = +1 to the Physical Crit Chance formula Something I remembered just now, when you kill any enemy you cannot inflict or refresh Overwhelming Strikes on that turn. Therefore it's better if 1H style can leave hurt enemies to die by counter attack. Although this is itself a targeting pattern, so it will either prevent spreading as you'd like, or create spread wasting.

And another prove that i am no people but uncle. (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/happy.gif) Because of course i use more Dex as Str, crit chance and parry is just so much more usefull as a few more damage points.

Dexterity (DEX) 1 point = +1 to Physical Damage formula 1 point = +1 to the Physical Crit Chance formula "A lot of people probably don't realize it" , probably because you're wrong. Or at least, misleading. Strength and dex do partly the same thing, but at different amounts. That, and even if we don't include the playstyle specific bonuses, dex also gives you parry., To save misleading: CODE Strength (STR) 1 point = +2 to Physical Damage formula 1 point = +0.5 to the Physical Crit Chance formula (1H only) 100 points = +1% Overwhelming Strikes Chance (1H only) 50 points = +1% Counter-Attack Chance (2H/Niten only) 50 points = +1% Domino Strike Chance Dexterity (DEX) 1 point = +1 to Physical Damage formula 1 point = +1 to the Physical Crit Chance formula 25 points = +1% Attack Accuracy and Parry Chance (1H only) 50 points = +1% Counter-Attack Chance (2H/Niten only) 50 points = +1% Domino Strike Chance (DW/Niten only) 100 points = +1% Offhand Strike Chance
Personally (as 1h), I go for a dex focused build, with str and end more or less equal.
