Hello, I've gotten back into HV recently and was wondering about my stat distribution. I'm currently playing as DW, level 261. I was mainly following the wiki advice on stat distribution, but put a bit more into int/wis for now so I don't have to add more in the near future. Currently using main hand rapier/ off hand dagger since I don't have appropriate equips (plan on doing rapier/wakizashi later)

QUOTE(Nightwishman @ Jan 21 2020, 00:17) Just wondering which piece(s) of my gear, if anyone really should be replaced, as a power-rapier-shield user. At the moment I do one or two random battles a day, just to click on something in my boredom.
Your equipment isn't bad, yet there are also a lot of room for improvement all around. But, if you only play that little everyday, there's little reason to splurge on equipment. except maybe if you found some great deal like cheap legendaries cost somewhere around 50-200k (you know any amount you could part without having to ponder about it), power slaughter might pushing it too far but surely power other suffix are easy to come. there are also occasionally some unsold legendary rapier which you might be able to snatch for starting bid. just visit super's weekly auction and put some 100k ish proxy bid on better stuff close to your level.

Thanks for the reply. And honest to god, I've been playing this on and off for years, but still have no idea what good items are usually.

I just wonder, why should a DW player HAVE to put more points into Int? I mean is that something that is written in the wiki? It wouldnt surprise me tbh, but different to Wis and the base mana you get, Int by itself it completly useless to all melee and all points one even should put into it is just for a few cheap spirit points, but iirc DW doesnt really use spirit stance that much, at least compared to 1H, even that is nearly pointless.

That's easy. If an item has 3 bidders, that's pretty much a good item. Now, you don't have to compete for that one, it's bound to be expensive. Just remember their prefix and suffix, then look around for the slightly inferior ones.

I disagree. That just a sign for people thinking an item been good. Also the market today is allready that broken, that we have allready reached the point when good items actually can just have a single bider or non at all. My advice is look at the stats. Live Percentile Ranges does help with this. And look at the important stats. And allways remember, ethereal weapons are usually overrated.

A leftover from the time only ethereal weapons were able to deal void damage.

Hello! I would like to ask about Monsterbation script.
Can I use "stop on spark or low vitals" for "wheel down" somehow? I use "wheel down" for Imperil spell, and sometimes it happens like this: 1. I cast Imperil on the first group of monsters 2. They hit me, Spark of life is activated 3. I do not notice, I cast Imperil on the second group of monsters 4. I'm dead

Monsterbation can stop you once on low vitals, but it won't "stop" you until you've saved yourself, through healing, or defend, or whatever. It's on you to be careful while playing, a script to fully stop you from attacking/casting without starting again until you've healed when you have low health wouldn't be allowed (someone please correct me if I'm wrong on this) What you are experiencing, is hover IS stopping, but using imperil through the scroll wheel is attacking manually (same as if you clicked once to attack and ignore the stop hover on low health/spark/consumable). afaik it's only allowed to stop the hover command, not changing specific key_bind to anything (even to nothing/stop) when on specific condition (like low on health/spark triggered).
I guess the closest you're allowed to is using the alertColor/alertBackground as notification and get used to stopping yourself from clicking any action other than recovering when seeing the color.

We can't prevent you from imperiling with wheel down. Long story, but basically any stops beyond what's in monsterbation is regarded as botting, and you would be at risk of getting caught botting. It is possible to imperil safely, with the use of keys - as is explained in the help texts of monsterbation script (inside the script). If you need help setting that up, let us know.

Thanks for the answers! I've already tried safe Imperil with the "ToggleHover" and Z key, but it takes longer. Thus, you can use Imperil on 10 monsters in 5-6 seconds, and with "Wheel down" it takes 2-3 seconds. It's a pity that you can't disable "Whell down" in certain conditions. (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/sad.gif) Just a little heads up, for one's well being. I used to play "shift Imperil", until I ended up getting a tendonitis from it. Now I'm back at pressing a single key, at the cost of being more careful. Safer for the virtual character, but dangerous for the actual human being behind his keyboard. That peculiar movement that one makes to hold a key (shift) with one finger and press another (whatever one you choose) is really, really bad. Gentlemen (& Ladies)
I just read the last 4 pages of this Ask the Experts, and learned that even as a Level 254 DW character, I had never used Imperil before. :-) Time to learn to use Deprecating spells.
So one question with this thank you note, do I need to open a green mastery slot and put the spell in the slot for it to be enabled and active in HV ? (my thinking, but I'm asking for confirmation).
Thanks
