A crystal pack is just what we call 1000 of each crystal type, it's not an actual item. Crystals are often sold in crystal pack quantities. If you need them (and don't want to grind them yourself or pay bazaar prices), you can make a request in WTB, or check out if any are selling them in WTS.

Edit: Just to clarify a bit more, the pack contains all crystal types with 1000 of each types , not just 1000 of one

just to clarify even a bit more, with time some variations like "primary crystal pack" and "mitigation crystal pack" started to appear on the market, which happen to be a crystal pack of respectively the 6 PAB-type crystals and the 6 mitigation-type crystals, of course at a less expensive price than full crystal pack.

though with the current price, maybe the reduced versions are less appealing...

Thinking about scaling into PFUDOR, especially when I hit 300 for DWD.

Is this the point where I should look for a Legendary Rapier/Shortsword to buy and soulfuse? Should I soulfuse and/or forge the shield, or look to buy a Legendary?

Back in the day when I was level 200~300 most of the other players in that same range were all trying to get Legendary rapiers (few succeeded). I have a Level 207 weak one that I found on the ground and there is another Level 252 great one currently floating around that hasn't managed to be soulfused yet. I was thinking if we could gather those two together and lend them out it would be pretty neat. The level 252 was a bit overforged though; lending it out now must require a collateral deposit of 10m+ credits which almost no one in that level range is going to have.

You should probably be able to get Magnificent gear at your level. By level 300 it shouldn't be too hard to find a cheap legendary rapier within soulfuse range. Soulfusing strategy depends on how many fragments you have gathered; forging I have no particular advice on.

I saw some advice in the DWD thread that getting Block up to ~60% makes things a lot easier. Is it worth forging the block chance on a Magnificent Force Shield, or should I wait for a cheap Legendary?

It might get very expensive, if it's even possible to upgrade a mag that much. I have a cheap legendary force shield that only has 25% block (the roll, not the actual stat), I'm on 30 block upgrades and still only have it to 55% block. A mag, unless it's exceptional, will probably take a lot more.

Others will be able to give more solid advise, and I'd recommend waiting for someone else to make a suggestion, but if it were me personally I'd get a cheap legendary force shield. 30+ upgrades is a lot for a mag shield you'll eventually replace.

I would allways suggest get block as high as you can. But i would never say get up to 60%, because i am sure as sure that reaching 60% would even with a fully forged peerl force shield completly impossible for a player at level 271. I dont know who made that advice, but when it was for you, it was a very bad one. So i really suggest to completly ignore such suggestions, forge your Mag when you have the materials and you can spare the credits for the catalyst, and just salvage it when you finally get you Leg. And when you have your Leg, you can go full in. Just dont forget even extrem high block only gets you so far so also forge your mitigations. (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/happy.gif)

One can only estimate the price of equipment, by comparing it to recent sold equipment of similiar stats. For everythingelse i suggest just take a look at WTB and WTS. While WTS is usually a bit cheaper.

My spare 1H set (not the main one) has 55% block chance, with only a meh Mag force shield (block only forged to 17) and one Mag Shielding Sabaton unforged.

I could reach 60% just by adding an unforged Mag Shielding piece, like a Gauntlet or a Legging.

So i'm playing some HV after a few years off. I forgot most of how to play and i'm struggling with credits and repair costs.

Character is a frost mage so i need a lot of cloth scraps, what's the most cost effective way to get it? Buy from IS? salvaging? What do you recommend for money grinding, i can clear arenas at high difficulties but it takes way longer and costs a lot more elixirs and potions and every now and then i get one shot out of nowhere, normal takes less time but the drops are... less than desirable.

I'll browse the forum again, but if anyone can point to a good guide for my build it would be awesome.

Usually you should be able to make much more credits as are needed for repairs between the repairs. So, maybe keep allways some credits for the needed repairs. Yeah, those are usually the two most common way to get scraps. But you can also take a look in some shops. Shops normally sell them for a bit cheaper as the item shop. Oh, and now that i think about it. i assume you dont have the Coupon Clipper perk. So i suggest, ignore the item shop and buy at least from a shop that offers clipper service, that way you will save 10% of the total cost. That should help you.

yep. i'm getting more careful after a couple of days of getting re-acquainted with the game but, in the process i pretty much drained all my stock of repair mats and creds. (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/anime_cry.gif)

Welcome back pooofer. I was in the same boat as you a little while back, came back from a long hiatus into a whole new game.

i. First of all, install some scripts to make your life easier. http://ehwiki.org/wiki/HentaiVerse_Scripts_%26_Tools

The main ones are:
1. Monsterbation
2. HV Utils
3. Live Percentile Ranges

1 and 2 will take a while to get used to, but it makes everything much easier.
3 will show you the quality of your gear and allow you to compare it with others.


ii. Legendary quality equipment is a lot more common these days, although you level is still quite low and you may have to make do with magnificent quality for a while. (Yup equipment have levels now. You can use anything below or equal to your level. You also have the option to "soulfuse" with a higher leveled piece of equipment, up to 100 levels higher.)

iii. Lastly, it's really up to you. However, maging at your level is going to be a struggle. I suggest you find youself a starter melee set. 1h heavy works really well. Rapier of slaughter + Force shield + Power of Protection/Warding.

The stats are worse. They got overall improved for all equipment. Here i will show it with your staff.

Do you see the minus in front of the numbers? A staff droped today, wouldnt usually be able to be below 0%. And the stats of your other equipment does also look like that. And while mage can never be more as a glass canon, at your level a mage is usually just glass and with that equipment nothing but fragile glass.

Well, for a staff usually the two most important stats are magic damage, spell damage and counter resist. Something i dont even see at your staff and the same is true for IW. IW of your staff is most important. And i am in no way suprised you struggle with that set. Because, sorry to tell you, it is bad, really bad.
