Humanoids suck, that's why. There's a lot of randomness too though. I have quite a lot of unexplained variations in the amounts of wins in my collection for my part: some humanoids have won more than some celestials, some beasts have been killing machines, some humanoids have barely won anything, and so on and so forth.

Mostly a combination of luck and people dying less as they become higher level. Mid-level monsters disappear almost altogether from battles, too, because people quite quickly get to high enough level to see level-capped monsters. At the extreme end, very high level monsters get more wins because they're showing up in battles all the time.

I see my own high-level monster, Fist of the Porn Star, on average once every 30-50 rounds. It isn't quite 2250 yet.

Certain monsters have different characteristics at different levels. Did you know sprites have the hardest hitting basic attack? They die extremely quickly, of course, but they can be quite dangerous at very low levels where monsters aren't high enough to unlock their special skills yet.

I have lots of cloth armor staffs and they're eating up my inventory space. Which prefixes, suffixes, types, quality and level should I keep? I wanted to sell/salvage the useless ones to clear up space.

Short version:

All magnificents can be salvaged. They are not useless, but the market for them is so small that actually selling one is basically impossible. Low level ones are worth considering, but lower than 310, imperil abilities are not fully accessible which makes mage play a lot harder. Also - low level survival is hard enough without playing mage!

These combinations are ideal:

Fiery/Arctic/Tempestuous/Shocking Redwood of Destruction
Tempestuous/Shocking/Demonic Willow of Destruction
Hallowed/Demonic Katalox of Destruction
Hallowed Oak of Heimdall

These combinations may have some niche use, but will be worth much less and possibly won't sell at all:

Fiery/Arctic/Tempestuous/Shocking Redwood of the Elementalist
Fiery Redwood of Surtr
Arctic Redwood of Niflheim
Tempestuous Redwood of Freyr
Shocking Redwood of Mjolnir
Demonic Katalox of Fenrir
Hallowed Katalox of Heimdall

These are usable if their rolls are very high (think near-peerless), but are also still niche use and probably won't sell:

Fiery/Arctic/Tempestuous/Shocking Redwood of Focus
Tempestuous/Shocking/Demonic Willow of Focus

Demonic Katalox of the Demon-Fiend

Elemental prefixes add a considerable amount of spell damage to a weapon. Ethereal will be missing this and gain nothing useful for it besides not having burden, but mages should be using feathers on their staffs anyway.

Sprites can also deal critical Physical Void attacks quite easily, with a base power of 150 to top it off, so they're definitely a major threat for mage players.

Yep - highest crit chance, highest base physical attack at low level (giants exceed them at max level, but all their skill modifiers are low power) and second hardest-hitting SP attack after Celestials. Sprites are great! If they survive long enough to use that, of course.

Difficulty: Monster damage starts at 100% base and increases by 2% per round.

By the time you are in the fight 65, you are very likely facing monsters with a very superior difficulty, which can usually kill you with a single attack, and they also have spiritual attack, so your shield will not protect you from several of those attacks, you will need the use of the spirit shield and it will quickly drain your spiritual points if you are fighting in the style of one hand.

You will need the continuous use of Spirit Draught, combined with spirit potions if you want to finish the ITW in high difficulties.

There's no secret: either tank better, or play IW at a lower difficulty.
But frankly, a player of your level should rather ask for a free IW service to a higher level player. There's nothing to get by doing it yourself.

As Arkoniusx pointed allready out IW is hard, for someone of your level it is superhard. And even if you would actually do a single run, a fully IW isnt done with a single run. So you actually had to survive and beat multiple runs. And somehow i doubt you have any equipment that would allready be worth such an effort. Dont bother with IW until you are a lot stronger as you are right now and until you have much better equipment as you have right now. It is just not worth it for you atm.
