Those two rapiers are a different color than what brokenmonitor usually sees (bright red). You can say it's a brownish color, it's close enough.

To avoid confusion and see directly what is good and what is trash, I've assigned a different color for all qualities in HV Toolbox: orange for Peerless, purple for legendary, the default red for Mag, the default color for the rest. That way I don't see any Sup/Exq with shades of red confusing me.
And no, I don't like HV Util's auto sorting. Not to mention that this feature is borderline cheating to my eyes.

Do you advise players my level (or lower?) to rummage the bazaar? I've never had anything even close to decent from there. Seems like most of the potentially usable stuff is thrown away by 500lvl players. I know the bazaar thread in the forum but I'm still not convinced.

For players your level (or mine), bazaar is usually just a huge loss of time and money.

You can, eventually, find something useful or even exceptional; but the probability of that is so low, that you have to constantly check it for months (and it's not possible during fights!), just to possibly snatch one or two good items.

Besides, you have to know quite well what is good and what isn't at first sight, otherwise you're going to throw away quite some money ... all in all, at your level I think it's best to peruse the auctions.

But hey, you can just be lucky, and get a peerless from bazaar the very first time you look into it ... who knows ? I wouldn't bet even a single credit on that happening, thou' (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

Well that would be one, another on i personally prefer would be, when you yourself feel comfortable playing at it.

See that the answer to this question can be quite variable and not only dependent on your level and/or build.

For example, since I've managed to customize to my liking the Monsterbation Hover mode, the risk of me dying due to a monster has been reduced greatly.

Before, I would have to go very carefully, especially in Dancing with Dragons (150 rounds) Arena and Item World at PFUDOR levels, because one bad move or too much lag and bam, Spark of Life activated, I wouldn't heal myself after that would keep being hit after that and dead.

After using Hover mode I don't have to care about having lag or hitting one key too many, as Monsterbation would be configured to stop Hover mode (that is, stop hitting things) once vitals reached red or SoL kicked in; giving me the chance to heal myself. It's very annoying dying to lag.


But yeah, what Uncle Stu says really applies. If you have to heal every second round or take really long to kill the monsters, then it isn't the difficulty level for you and you should lower it.

As I'm often saying, time spent lurking in the bazaar, speculating, trying to squeeze-optimize every single credit out of one's drops, brainfarting numbers on the forums or God knows what else, is time not spent playing the game instead.

Maybe you'll get lucky at one point, but being focused on that to get that one part that is worth 100k would probably need you enough time that would have allowed you to net more by just playing more arenas or clearing a PFFEST.

IMHO, one can swoop in the bazaar from time to time, briefly, but not any more than that. Great deals are very, very rare.

I noticed something like that btw. Minmaxing for profits can be more time-consuming than hovering something and getting the rewards that way.
Minmaxing and trying to do things optimally can be pretty fun by itself though. HV has so many options for stuff to do.

But what to salvage is quite easy. When something is average or below you salvage. When it is Sup or Exq you bazaar. Mag and Leg salavage except it is something that gives your metal or leather, because if it does your bazaar. When one is not able to to that in his own mind, i would be worry this person could forgot how to breach if he smells cheese or the doorbell rings. (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/unsure.gif)

I didn't notice that. I have it installed but I like the vanilla HV layout so I just use that one (I even toggle fonts on-off for Live Percentile when I have to check stats on equipment).

I did that homework myself - I kept track of several hundred items of all qualities, rares, etc. which I salvaged for science. What gives what price in bazaar, both market and bazaar value of materials and all that. It was really interesting for me how the entire thing will turn out.
