what's the fastest way i can start pfudor'ing arena challenges?
does anyone know what the most powerful build(s) are? it's been like 2 years since the last patch, surely that would be more than enough time to come to a general consensus on the topic?
One Handed (1H) Heavy Armor (check EH Wiki) build is considered the easiest to handle that challenge. At least for survivability.
My case:
- 1H build with rapier: started considering PFUDORing Dance with Dragons (DwD) after getting a Legendary Fiery Rapier of Slaughter from an Arena challenge. IW 10ed it and forged it as far as I could, focusing particulary on Parry and DEX, as those are fairly cheap to upgrade and very useful.
- Rest of equipment, least quality Exquisite and quite a few Magnificent levels, bough from auctions and or decondelite's shop. Force Shield and Power Armor (whatever I could get, not that you can be choosy, but Protection and Warding armors are easier to survive than Slaughter).
- Level 315ish, I think.
- Developed relevant abilites up to the level, including all the Generals, 1Handed, Heavy Armor, Imperil, Weakness (Faster and Better in both), Regen, Stronger Spirit, Protection, SoL (Spark of Life), Cure, Full Cure.
- Hath Perks: Innate Arcana (IA) level 1, at least. Spark of Life attached to it: this point is very important to avoid wasting turns recasting it when hit.
- Train Pack Rat at least 4 to have: 3 slots for draughts, 3 slots for potions, 3 slots for elixirs. Keep a suitable supply of them, never go without 200 of each to PFUDOR DwD.
- You can also get Featherweight Shards (they are cheap, at around 90 credits each from other players). Slap 2 at least on each of your equipment.
Playing it:
- Imperil and Weakness are VERY important to spam if you lack proper armor (forged and IWed). You lack prolly. I lack it.
- Keep SoL on IA and always keep buffed Spirit Shield, Protection, Regen and Heartseeker.
- Keep the 3 draughts always on. You don't want surprises like running out of magic, spirit or health.
- Use keyboard and/or Monsterbation with Hover option and the tick to stop hovering if under a specific health level.
- ALWAYS KEEP AN EYE ON YOUR HEALTH. Try to avoid it getting lower than half or so, and always Cure at red level.
- Use potions as needed, especially mana.
- If using keyboard, NEVER EVER EVER KEEP THE KEY PUSHED, allowing you to keep attacking. If you get a critical, you won't be able to stop in time to Cure, so you'll die. Hit fast if you want, but always keep an eye to avoid lagging.
The sequence would be:
- Bukkake weaken all around, until at most 1/3rd of the monster are left without it (if you can weaken all, better). I usually make a point of weakening the School Girls (SGs, in pink/purple/whatever colour). You can forgo this when no SGs are around, and you could risk it with 1 SG only, but 2 and 3 SGs will require it.
- Imperil all around, spread it too. Always Imperil the SG.
- Stabstabstabstab the SG until she dies.
- Counters will kill or reduce the other monsters' HP too.
- Cleanup after no SGs are around. Focus on non Imperiled monsters first.
I've found the dragons easy. I just keep stabstabstab until they die after slamming Imperil on them (Weakness is good too, but never gotten to dangerous levels).
Anyway, main advice at our level, if you want to PFUDOR or go for higher difficulties, being careful is the Golden Rule. Of course, it always depends on your gears and build.
