I mean when we get an update won't the gear just get power crept again? My assumption would be that going forward we're to have ancestor prefixed bullshit like this:
Shadowdancer's Legendary Agile Shade Boots of the Fleet Curse-Weaver's Peerless Savage Power Gauntlets of Slaughter

Equipment didnt really change since 0.82 and that is been a few updates ago, so i wouldnt worry too much about any changes for the equipment. (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/happy.gif)

QUOTE(Matrim_Cauthon @ Jul 18 2019, 01:29) Is my wind mage gear (In signature) enough, after upgrades, to go PFUDOR GF? Or is charged absolutely necessary? I've just assembled those pieces and am trying to slowly change into mage.
I think it's not good enough for PFUDOR GF... Not all charged is necessary, but more than this. For PFFEST, you need to mind the details: charged shoes for proficiency, preferably all charged phases (but I used to play with 1 radiant and 4 charged, worked as well).

yeah. We made a starting guide in the wiki (wiki advice advanced, see my sig). Just start playing mage at the difficulty that you can manage, and build up the proficiency until it's close to your level. Staff has priority when it comes to equipment. A good LARD these days is hard to find, but not as hard as it used to be.

So I've come to the point where HV is no real challenge anymore, I can clear anything, be it the arena, ring of blood or an item world on PFUDOR. However it's rather slow, taking 30 minutes to clear out an 82 round item world. I'm currently running a 1H set up with heavy armor. What should I do to level up the fastest? I already put quite a bit of training into Adept Learner

Max out Adept Learner and the EXP hath perks is all you can really do. Since you already have a GS and some awards.

I can smell the player who hasn't tried PFFEST, from miles away. (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/happy.gif)

PFest can kill a 1H even with more than 80% PM/MM, nearly 70% block and above 70% Parry. Just saying. (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/happy.gif)

Ah thanks, I've not seen any incentive to play grindfest. It doesn't have a good xp multiplier, nor any good credit awards. But I guess I'll try my shot at it.

It has increased crystal drops, which is the primary incentive for doing it. Definitely do try it! You might find those last couple hundred rounds are a little punishing. (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)

Well, imo there are only two reason to play a PFest. First you like the challenge, because a PFest is the hardest you could do in this game atm, and second for the crystals, but for that you need of course some Crystatrium perks and some scavenger training, otherwhise you shouldnt even start it for the crystals. (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/happy.gif) just use a SoL, it's not rocket science. you got to be asleep or too drunk to be dying on pffest on slightly decent 1h build. it's a nice fire and forget battle mode if you're in for some lengthy grind. it cost 1 extra stamina for 1000 round, but at least you won't have to do re-entry (and fight 5-10 round against <5 enemies/round ) every 100 or so like on IW.

No, PFFEST is hard as hell at Lvl350. I couldn't survive it back then, even as 1H, though I didn't have a high level of forging like I have today.
