I would say, at least a "no matter what" IW on your weapon for the additional element/void strike is imo a no brainer.

yeah, your level should not be a problem. Just don't try to IW a peerless on pfudor. Start at lower difficulty and try higher difficulty each time until you can't win comfortable. If you get into troubles, use some scrolls for the last rounds.

I'd recommend using Depr spells before resorting to scrolls though.

bbjobs, yeah, I've tried it 4 times at IWTBH and died 2. One was out of carelessness at the latest levels and the other in the beginning.

The 2 successful attempts were done being extra extra careful, with Imperil + rapiering each time, and healing myself very frequently.

Haven't burned Elixirs (I don't have slots for those), but had to use quite a few Mana Potions to keep my heals up.
I've got Butcher 2, Fatality 1 and Overpower 1 so far; not bad for now.
If you still want to do it (either at IWTBH or PFUDOR), tell me (here or via PM) and I'll send you the rapier with CoD 0. Don't forget the price.

I should be able to do it - just tell me your budget in terms of amnesia shards and minimum accepted IW results - as long as you provide the shards I can do it for free (or like 20k if you really want to pay something).

Well, 2 things. I've found and made an offer for this rapier:

As you see, it has slightly lower ADB, but rest of important stats (STR, Parry, Accuracy) are better, so I want to IW both rapiers and put the Fire one for sale, as Tempestuous seems to be slightly better (giants, or so someone said some posts before).

Still waiting for confirmation from seller (for 50k), though.


That being the case, I sent the Fire one to bbjobs, as long as he's fine to IW 10 it, because it might end up being a business thing rather than my weapon and I don't think it's right to get something for free and then sell it later on.

Anyway, still planning what to do about both rapiers. I'll IW 10 the other one too, not sure how and when, but either I'll do it myself or pay someone to do it.

PS: magiclamp, in case you asked. I don't have requirements, as it's a temporary weapon, rather than "the final one".

Btw, for pieces of equipment requiring Defense Matrix Modulators and similar, wiki says something about:

"For rarer equipment (Phase, Shade, and Power armors) a special component is required to upgrade them by a level in a stat. Doing so however, allows for all other stats to be upgraded to that level without another special component."

Does this mean that if I want to upgrade a Force Shield 25 levels of, let's say, Block and PMit, I'd only need 25 Defense Matrix Modulators?

And that stays even in later upgrades, as long as no stat goes over level 25?

PS: yes, I'm thinking of looking for a Legendary <element> Force Shield of Protection/Warding and upgrading the shit out of it (at least Barrier for sure). It's cheaper than dealing with Power Armour and those expensive as shit Repurposed Actuators.

Yes you only need 25 and also yes, as long as no upgrades goes over the 25, none of them cost another DMM.

Just saying but because Crushing Mitigation is the weakest of the melee mitigations for a power armor set of Dampening is actual the best suffix. So limiting the Force Shield you want to Protection and Warding may not the best idea. Also as long as you dont go for your endgame shield, any suffix would do as long as the shield gives you a high block chance.

It's all about block at first, then for end-game shield you look at PAB's (you want Str, Dex, End, an 'SDE' shield). If you have SDE, who cares about the suffix? You shouldn't. Only at the very end of all the forging and upgrade, you will reach the point where changing the suffix on your shield will make any improvement. But by that time, you will probably play mage.

They do stack... badly.

They're additive, but a monster's PMit can't go below 0% PMit. So after the first stack of PA, you're already at -75% PMit, which pretty much already reached the 0% for most monsters. Even at Lvl500, it takes at least a half-chaosed PL2250 to go above 75% PMit, and only arthropods and giants are able to reach the cap of 80% PMit. In which case they're already left with 5% PMit with Imperil + 1 stack of PA.

Not much difference compared to cold mages.
Fire/cold mages have disadvantage on staffs, no extra EDB from prefix on willow staffs.

No. It's simply because unlike cool mage, you can't deal explosive damage against a fire spike shield. And fire isn't native to Willow either.
But frankly, there's no doubt a fire mage would do well with a LFRD. All it takes is to choose a shock spike shield.
