Okay, so I got my OFC yesterday (thank you all for trading/selling me the figurines!), and did DwD again. Here's the result for the new one:

Cut the turns down by more than 1k, though it was a hassle because I forgot to have a bunch of hotkeys set up properly (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/dry.gif)

Had to adjust playstyle quite a bit since I won't be staying in spirit stance as much, but there's progress!

Hopefully I can get it down further with tweaks and new equipment (if I can find them of course (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif))

Thanks all for the suggestions!

(Counter is still a bit low, and I have no clue what causes it... Here's my current stats)

Forgive me if this has been asked before, I did do a search and skimmed through a couple of results, but my search term (Shadow Veil) was a bit too common to find an answer quickly. I checked on the wiki, and although I could just be failing to read it correctly, it doesn't seem to answer my question.

Does Shadow Veil increase your evade by it's percentage, or multiple your current evade by it's percentage? I'm asking because I'm using it all the time, but have a 0% evade. If it's the latter, I'm just wasting mana.

Also, when it comes to combat, how does it calculate if you block/evade/parry. You obviously can't block and evade on the same attack, so does it roll to see if you block, then another roll to see if you evade etc? Increasing those stats over mitigation seems better if that's the case, so I'd be tempted to switch to light armour.

Dont worry, you dont waste anything, it is a flat percental bonus, with no multiplicator.

The order of the rolls is Evade, Block, Parry/Resist. That is also the reason why high evade isnt something you want as 1H, because you benefit from blocked and parried attacks much more. So, if you play 1H, i would really not suggest to switch to shade. Shade is better played with DW or 2H.

It's fine for now.

Not sure what you're already using, so...

Advice:
- Use Voidseeker Shard on your weapon to reach 200% hit chance.
It'll remove monster's evasion.
Forge - Enchant (+50%; for 60 mins). Use 2 for now for the whole battle (2 hours).
- Increase your Wisdom to reach 100% magic hit chance / 20% resist chance.
It'll help with casting Imperil and mitigating incoming spells.
You can try to use 2 Aether Shard just to test Imperil landing. Kind of pricey to use constantly for now, just to test it how it affects your turns/time.
Forge - Enchant (+50%; for 60 mins).
- You can add additional Elemental Strike to your weapon (in addition to your Fire one) to increase your damage.
Forge - Enchant (+1 strike; +15 mins), so, use 8 for now (2 hours) for the whole battle. Use day's Infusion, or Holy/Dark (bosses' weakness).
Don't use the same Infusion as your element (Fire), it won't give you anything.
- Try it with any Magnificent (Str, Dex, Agi or Str, Dex attributes)/Legendary Rapier around your level. Any.
Buy cheap, IW to level 10 cheap (any potencies). Just to test it.
Or Legendary Shortsword of Slaughter. It should be cheap to find very good one around your level or lower for more long-term usage.
- It's kind of cheap to forge weapon to level 5. A little boost.
- Shield... Spare is not an improvement. I see one okay Mag Force around your level in the auctions... Too lazy to check shops, if there's better ones.
- Replacing your Exquisite with Magnificent (any; all attributes - Str, Dex, End) or Legendary will give you a boost.
- Use Featherweight Shards on at least 1 your equipment. I think you have burden > 70. Losing critical chance.
- Try not to use Haste and Shadow Veil unless you need it to survive.
Start battle without it and add it as you go and feel that you need it. First add one then after some time another as you start to get hit hard again (try to go a few rounds more to exclude just bad case of spike damage).
You can also try to use Featherweight Shards on all your armour. It may help you to reach higher rounds before resorting to Shadow Veil and/or Haste.
Forge - Enchant (60 min).
- General DwD tactic: Imperil bosses (or everything), kill bosses first, when boss gets stunned, use Vital Strike on it for a high damage and bleeding (your Shortsword interferes with bleeding and you're losing damage), normal monsters will die from counter-attacks, kill normal monsters that are still alive.
It should be doable with 1 bosses and 2 bosses (early rounds).

If you feel pressure you may kill some normal monsters first (higher rounds with 2+ bosses) before concentrating on bosses.

Thanks a lot for the info, it's 1h I'm focusing on (recently changed from niten), so I'll follow your advise and see how it goes.

To be more accurate, Shadow Veil is a probability of 25% to evade an attack when other evade rolls failed. It is applied even after Burden is taken into account, so you don't need to worry, its effects are guaranteed.

Shadow Veil has 15% Base Evade Bonus, with one level of Better Shadow Veil 18%, with two 20%, with three 22%, with four 24% and with all five you get 25%.

i believe the formula with full ability is

evade = .25 + .75 * base_evade

so shadow veil always increases your evade
