Because your prof gears are so good, getting it up to 1.07x level should be good enough. Even if you have mediocre prof pieces, getting your BASE proficiency (the one that shows up on the stat screen) to 1.1x level should get you to 1.0 with two prof pieces.

Not really, it's just that his base proficiency is way too low. If his base divine prof was around 530, which isn't anything crazy, he'd have reached 1.0 prof factor.
I'm guessing he started playing holy mage somewhat recently, because I currently have 390 base divine prof, and if I were to start playing holy right now with ZERO assimilator level, I would end up at 528 base divine proficiency by level 496.

And unfortunately, 4+1 1.0 is downright impossible. Assuming you are using a Willow staff, even with peerless prof robe and peerless prof on your staff, you need 616 base proficiency to get to 1.0, which is impossible.

-harder to finish all your REs (can try to keep track of the round around when it's 25-30 minutes before it ends, and "save" the encounter there with hv utils or such for double RE; still need to be on very often to finish all 24 RE

except of course if it took like 2-3 hours to finish your GF and you ended up running out of time to trigger all the RE.
I myself, sometimes do 2-3 hour GF in a day and still able to clear the rest of the RE while doing works. at worst it's between 12-15 RE in a day, that's if irl really busy that I ended up not checking hv at all around afternoon.

AFAIK RE have the best rate for everything, maybe except crystal drop.

Buuut... I do have a trick! I start the PFFEST after a RE, and then I refresh a gallery at round 800 to have the new RE's link ready for when I finish. That way, the cooldown for the next RE is inferior to 30 mins once I finished the PFFEST.
