QUOTE(Red_Piotrus @ Aug 31 2009, 19:46) Correct me if I am wrong, but only legendaries use the soul attacks, so why do the normal mobs even have that? Random magic starting point is nice, but I was looking at their random soul starting point and wondering - so what...? (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) All monsters have Spirit Attacks. It's just that the lesser mobs had theirs deactivated early on in the Beta, while it was still closed.

Hence Hotkeys. QWE ASDF Defend and Focus even start with the corresponding letter.

Whereas Attack and Spirit (or Skill) could, but don't. How confusing is that?

If I can't remember that far-right is no longer spirit, I'm certainly not going to remember the hotkeys. Just getting senile.

It's been a while since that had been discussed, but weren't weakened mobs supposed to be unable to crit?
Also I think it's a bit weird that monsters can double attack with a spell either on the first attack or second... I doubt it would be because I'm too slow..

I do like the new options. Not that I will ever have a use for focus being a fighter type with massive interference, but i have a feeling defend will come in handy for me at some point. The quickbar is just too damn handy (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Getting one-shot by a magic attack ain't cool because all the plate in the world can't stop magic.

I use focus when I see Manthra. Instead of casting 6-7 times weaken, have the damn spell getting resisted and getting my ass beaten while trying now it only takes 1 focus and 1 cast. Usually.

It is definitely something to think about. I am not high enough level for silence yet, but maybe I'll train a few more points into ability boost and save them for silence. another good tip to consider. Weaken would come in handy as well. Looks like I'll be training the crap out of ability boost for a while (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)

Actually yeah I pretty much weaken every mini except Mind Raper. If I see him I unleases my spirit attack. That guy needs to die on the spot.

Is there a hotkey to click "Continue" during an arena/grindfest?

Of course you do realize that would come with HP regeneration, which I don't think people would enjoy as much. So what you're saying is that you want spirit attacks for all monsters? (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) QUOTE(Sayo Aisaka @ Sep 1 2009, 04:24) Whereas Attack and Spirit (or Skill) could, but don't. How confusing is that?
Having Defend and Focus on D/F wasn't by accident, but I wanted to keep the mental mapping of the button positions. But it's possible I'll flip Skill and Item, just so I can laugh at people misclicking them for the next few weeks. In my first mapping, Attack was actually A, but the entire thing was moved a row down on the keyboard, seeing as A/S/D/Z/X more closely resembled the upside-down triange the buttons formed. However, because of the two new buttons and the fact that it would be more travel distance to hit the number keys, I changed it to what it is now.

Any chance of having Defend and Focus just do there desired effect for the next round instead of taking up a round to charge thus wasting a chance to hit back in order to use it.
Honestly Bing a int/wis primary caster i couldn't be bothered with focus if the mobs going to hit me i am sure going to hit it back i don't like wasting a turn for a buff that just ups the chance but doesn't make it always land.

(IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) God Fucking No. Alpha, be careful what you say. The peacock and whale already do massive damage with spirit AND don't need to use half their mp bar to do it, let's keep it to those two. Actually, Tenb, that kinda bugs me. The peacock shouldn't be able to use peck with only 1/4 or 1/8 of its mp, and use spirit for the rest... except then they'll just use one massive peck instead... arg.... You're cruel >_> @Tenb: QUOTE(DemonEyesBob @ Aug 31 2009, 11:48) @Tenb: Is it possible to make Defend/Focus double click required? I keep hitting them by accident (defend is where items used to be) and most self-applied stuff (cure, haste etc.) requires double clicking anyway.
Edit: For showing the scaling on armor/weapons, how about parens just for stats that actually change?

Mwahaha.. QUOTE @Tenb:
Possible sure, but I don't really see the point of that extra click since those aren't really skills that need a "safety".

Is there any way you can make the spirit attack name field a little longer? Kenshin has plenty of cool attacks, but most of them are longer than 20 characters...

Use the kanji. Amakakeru Ryu no Hirameki = 天駆ける龍の閃き (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif)
